I am just curious what do other tailors label their clothes. Do you change the name of the item? Do you put just your initial or full name after the item name or before?
I always put my initial after the item name and after that color.
Something like this: Shortsleeve shirt E! blue
For BE wear I do +4melee,+17 stun def paramilitary camos E! green

I guess I have a complex label process. I have palettes labeled by letter and each color has a number.I also have names I use for certain colors or color families. Basically there's a description so the customer knows the general color and an exact code to match properly. Finally I have my shop name. So if I make a black/white soft undershirt it would say Soft Undershirt Black F35/White F15-COORDINATION.

Clothing Schematic Name Unchanged BE Attributes - Colors With Codes ::Mr. Okie::
example: Exotic Dancer's Leotard +25 Dance/Music Heal - Black(7) ::Mr. Okie::
I only alter it if I can't make stuff fit, like replacing "::Mr. Okie::" with "Mr.Okie" or shorting names of colors or BE attributes. I always name it exactly what the schamatic is so people can re-order or ask a friend what they are wearing. I know I know, it shows the original schamtic name on /exam, but people are lazy when browsing vendors.

Here's a tip for labeling if you run out of room. Bind your keys so you can copy and paste and copy your tag. Even when you run out of roomto type it will allow you topaste it onto the end. It also saves time, because I don't like to type -COORDINATION over and over.

I used to do it like gesikah, but recently I've leaned more toward doing 2-line names. So the first line would be the item & its description while the second line would be the company name. I also do a hex code for the company name just on the off chance it might show up at some point in the future.

I polled several of my customers on what they liked to see in clothing labels and what they didn't like.
They do not like long labels. Makes it too hard to read in the vendor/bazaar and inventory. Forces them to examine the item just to see what the heck it is.
They do not like the company or brand name put before the item name because it messes up the item name sort, or pushes the item name too far right so they have to expand the field to be able to read it.
They do not like alpha-numeric color codes on labels. It means nothing to them and they still have to examine the item to see what color it is.
They do not like re-named items (unless they custom order a specially named item) because then they aren't sure what they are looking at unless they again, examine the item, and it too, messes up the item name sort on bazaar/vendors.
They do not like items with no color name added. They dislike having to examine every item to see if it's the color they want.
They do like items with the color name added at the end. If they go to your vendor and are looking for only all Sky Blue items, they can more easily search for just that. And especially if they have several color matched outfits of the same styles so they can pick out their entire outfit from inventory at a glance.
They do like short company or brand names. Longer version of the company or crafter's name can be in the item description or signs around the shop.
They do like BE clothes labeled with the mods on it. They also like BE clothes being on a separate vendor of it's own.
If you also sell crates in singles and factory pack bundles, they do like the crates and the packs to have all the information listed in the name of the crate and on the packs so they can more easily match singles to partial bundles if they want to purchase more of one serial # run. But the names and numbers have to make sense to the customer, not be "code" only the tailor understands.
So. Going by the majority of my customer poll, I label like this:
For clothing: Item name<Q>Black
For crates: Component name<Q>(serial #)
For bundled crates: Component name<Q>(serial #)# of crates in pack -- RFP<Q>(######)40 --(name on backpack color coded in red so they are easier to find on the crates vendor)
I am usually stocked right up against my vendor limit of 4000 items. Making it easier for my customers to find what they want became imperative. Separating stock by type, on several vendors, naming of items and bundling variety were their most popular requests.
When I do custom orders, I always ask the customer if they want their items custom named. Many do not, some are amazed we can change the name, and several do like special names for items. Especially if they are to be a gift for someone else.

Standard Clothing/Packs/etc.:
Item name +xx Mod/+xx Mod (primary color/secondary color)
Gunman's Duster (black)
Reinforced Work Shirt +4 Melee/+18 Stun (blue/white)
Outfit Pieces:
Outfit Name Part Name (color, if a variety is available)
Endor Rebel Soldier Jacket
Day at the Beach Trunks (blue)
Components:
Abbreviation [mods] (serial) - Crates
Quantity x Abbreviation (serial) - Packs
Trim (4ns92vgu)
SC +15 medical (fnv7ed6q)
10xRFP (an5wk9d1)
I used to add "by Alcen Eiron" in the early days but stopped when they started showing names on the Examine screen. I never use color codes or returns in item names.

My partner and I label as such:
-OK- Grand Ball Gown - Black/White
I understand that some customers don't like the brand name at the front, but I like the fact that when sorting by name on the bazaar, our items come towards the beginning and are all grouped together.
As for color names, we mostly use pretty basic terms since numerical codes don't mean anything to customers and I simply don't feel like coming up with unique color names for the whole palette.
For BE items, we add a one or two word basic description after the brand name, like this:
-OK- Medic Doctor's Dress - Red/Blue
The one word description isn't exact, but it gets the point across without taking up too much room.
