I just wanted to see how bad other tailors have it when it comes to special order clothing. My personal favorite is when I open up an email that says "Hi there, I would like some bio clothing. I need 4 sockets in everything and please make them all black. Thank you."

Yes I have actually gotten many many emails like that one. 4 sockets aside, the kicker is when you reply to them and ask them to please tell you the exact bio and exact clothing pieces, the customer will reply by saying they want def vs dizzy and such. Then when you talk to them again and tell them thats not possible, they insist on saying it is and wont give in.

Please share your most annoying orders. I love to talk to other tailors and it makes me feel a lot better when I realize they all dont flock to me. lol

When I started as a Tailor, I would have people asking me for clothes but not knowing what they wanted exactly. Likewise, I had one person ask for a crate of pendants with the name "Black Sun Necklace" or whatever the item was at the time. I had my suspicions, told him I needed to get supplies, gave him my wishes and addignored him for safe measure - I may be Rebel but I'm not down for potential conartistry.

Since then, my business practices have changed a lot. I'm still a Couture Tailor (i.e. not selling a long list of clothes on a vendor but instead taking one job at a time) but I'm no longer taking jobs on the fly as I'm passing through cities but instead insisting of doing it in my workshop (which I've got a new one of, though I'm waiting until complete before showing but it is cool ). I'm referring customers to clothes catalogues so they can see what's there instead of the guesswork, and I'm encouraging customers to see me in private.

They also understand my reluctance to bother with BE or loot Tailoring (Who wouldn't when they see "20k per BE clothing" and "100k per Crafter's Apron" on their Tailor's bio? ) but instead to concentrate on their looks And even more, they know that if they act like arses to me that they'll have to find another Tailor, no buts.

Basically I'm known as a tough but fair person, although one who devotes themselves to their customer and caters to them specifically. Course it has its drawbacks - I have nearly 20 regular clothes fiends on the books

I had someone ask me to make them a pair of hotpants once.

needless to say, the ranger in me just couldn't bear to make it, and so i referred him to a different tailor.

but, even if my main account wasn't a Ranger, and i never heard of the Rangers vs. Hotpants war, i still would have serious problems with making a guy a pair of hotpants for himself. there's just some things that guys shouldn't wear. And that's one of them.

Im glad someone elses does the same as me when it comes to the sockets. I usually tell the customer that if they want 4 sockets, I will make 2-3 of the item they want (I can always use the extra stock to sell) but if I do not get 4 sockets by then, the customer pays for each other attempt after that. Or if I have a lot to do that day and its a rush order. I make 3 items and they get the best one. Usually I will add a little extra on top of the cost if thats the case though, nothing huge, but enough to make it worth my time if they are in a rush.

Ive got no problem helping them out with sockets, I just want the person to know it will take extra $ and time.

My favorite /tell was a guy who wanted 3 pieces of clothing and 4 sockets in each. I told him that sockets are random and after the 3rd attempt he will have to pay for each extra attempt. Well he replied "Nothing in crafting is random! Your either totally new at this or know nothing about your profession." After a fast direction to the Tailor forums and the faq about sockets, I never heard from him again.

I have to also go with the4 socket only order being annoying. One person that placed an order through me wanted metal bikini tops with the injury/wound treatment mods, 4 sockets, and in dark blue and a plumy purple. As luck wouldn't have it, it took many attempts to get the sockets, so I had many practice BE items for my vendor. They eventually sold, but it took awhile.

The worst orders i get (ones i dislike doing the most) are the 4 socket BE clothing in either an obscure colour, or an uncommon mod.

I generally stock factory run +25 medical striped pants and +4/+18 melee shirts/bandoliers/dusters/camo's all in black with 4 sockets. everything else i hand make

When people ask for 4 socket special orders that are not something i factory run i allways offer them 4 choices

A: you pay for every 'failure' i have in achieving your 4 socket item (this could be anything upto 10 fails if unlucky)

B: you pay 5x the price for your 4 socket item, (i take the risk of failure)

C: you pay normal price and receive however many sockets i get on first attempt which could be 0-4

D: we forget this order.

Im happy with any of the above really, i allways keep pleanty of crates of even the most obscure tissues on hand allways.

Also a little anoying is when they ask for things that are not possible for tailors to make, but i just reply with what is possible and let them make their minds up.

Ive not had any 'bad' customers thankfullyever since my move to farstar about a year ago now. The worst of them are simply uninformed on what tailors can do, however most are still polite, few are just a bit blunt, none have been rude ever.

I'm not sure about annoying but I know what's the most depressing. When someone comes to me and asks for a nice outfit with certain enhancements and I have to tell them, "Oh, no, you'll have to wear this horrid shirt with this horrid jacket and these horrid pants to get all those bonuses at the same time".

Definatly a problem. I also hate telling people they cant wear the types of clothing they want because they wont take certain bio tissues.

The worst order I've ever gotten:

"Can you make me an Extremely Revealing Skirt and a Bikini with Melee/Stun Def in it please"

The only reason why this is the worst order I've ever gotten, is because my Myschala character is female and I WANT THESE FEMALE CLOTHES TO BE ABLE TO HAVE DEF MODS IN THEM!!!

That is all...

You know what, I lie - There was ONE other order recently that was just as bad...

To put it simply, it was a job I got through Coronet Starport. A customer telled me in German and knew little English. I did about five years of Deutsch in high school so I thought with what I'd learnt (plus a translator to help cover the works ) I'd be able to help the guy however I can.

The discussion in German was so & so - I managed to eventually translate after 20 minutes (for a five-minute conversation) both what I was hearing & saying. I managed to do the order and got ready to deliver it at the ID salon in Coro.

When I got there, he was talking in Deutsch to another person. The major problem arose when he started the two conversations in one go - As I had trouble translating in time the stuff earlier, the conversation blended into one and I had no idea what the hell he was saying and to who.

I was already having my nerve tested about the language barrier (but still complying) before I go to the Salon - The socialising which did me no help took it over the edge. I thought I'd get the trade over with. I offered the pants and he cancelled the deal, asking me a question which I believe was sorting out his friend as well who knew even less English. At the point, I thought two very so-and-so words and left the Salon without the trade happening.

The pair ran after me and still asking about it. In very bad German (I had two years to forget a lot of it ), I told them I couldn't help and that there was a Tailor north-east of Coro that might be able to help them. Whether there was still though, I didn't know.

Therein lies a small moral for customers - Although Tailors will do what they can, a little consideration where possible helps the Tailor a lot.

Very condensed since this whole thing took a 20minute span of constant flow.

My favorite worst request started with a

'can you make me whatI am wearing?'

'Depends on if it has mods, and if you want sockets. But sureI could fairly match the colors and items. Sending email with shop WP, come by and we can see what can be done'

'so you can make it then? How much is it gonna cost me?'

'Well depends again on what it all is. Mind explaining what each piece is?'

'k a shirt some pants and a jacket.... oh have some shoes too their pink'

'If you open your inventory and examine the items you can tell me the actual names of them, or if your on way here just trade them and I will do the work'

'on way where? I am supposed to come to you? but I am buffed and doing mission. you need to come to me so you can make it here. your the tailor'

{I'm the tailor a-yup butI am not the moron}

'Tell ya what, sinceI don't need to do anything for someone so unwilling to help me out with a order they want, I suggest finding another tailor. BE Well'

about 10 mins pass

'So are they made?'

I'll deliver stuff for my regular customers who want a new outfit every other day (since the single outfit order typically turns into 3 or 4 outfits). plus, the regulars like that all hang out in the cantina in Theed or Coronet, so a trip to deliver one customer's order typically turns into 4 or 5 other customers in the cantina ordering stuff. by the way, not all dancers just want the metal bikini and extremely revealing skirt. i actually haven't made any of those in 2 or 3 weeks now. (you mean that tiny skirt uses 200 units of fiberplast???)

but i usually won't deliver to customers unless it's a large order like several BE items. (JTL has made that more possible since i can travel with no wait, and no ticket fees).
