Thread: Seems like alot of new tailors popping up!
Sadly, I wonder if we're just seeing a lot of people making Tailors to fulfill guild BE clothing needs/cash in on the changes and retention will be extremely low. They'd have pretty good access to tissues since anyone with enough combat and some resources can respec to BE, make tissue runs, and respec back.
/agree it is great for a person who loooovessss fashion ![]()
I guess those that take on this profession will drop it after things change(They always do) guess they don't have fashion in their soul.......sad (For them :smileywink![]()
This is a pretty questionable practice imo, and I don't think it's something people should be encouraging.
How would you feel if the system allowed BE's with combat alts to re-spec into tailor? They could then do massive factory runs of things like black formfitting undershirts and black spec-ops dusters with the highest bonuses to terrain negotiation and melee/ranged defense in the galaxy due to their stock of such resources, then re-spec out of tailor and have millions and millions of credits worth of clothing that they could flood the bazar with for months and months and months.

In case you haven't noticed, it's not hard to become a Tailor (or any crafting class) temporarily without losing your skills. Drop a combat mastery without taking any skills back, grind Tailor in a few hours, make your schems, drop Tailor, and respec back your combat skills at your next opportunity. At least there they have to go through the work of craft grinding (assuming they're not cheating).
The practical upshot of all this is that we may not see the true effects on the crafting side until the respec period ends and everyone settles down into their new roles. Hopefully many of the new people actually want to be crafters. And why not? We are the best!
a very well known DJK on our server took his alt (who used to be a combat d00d) master tailor/master architect lol. Nobody on the Tarq forums seems to believe him yet other than Avadiha & I since he asked us both for training LOL. Seems like alot of people are finding interest in crafting again.
So far my buisiness has increased as well. The new BE stuff is very popular, and with Teras Kasi and non-coms no longer able to wear armor, people who used to be compo-clones are now coming out of the woodwork looking for clothes!
Honestly, I haven't actively played a tailor since the upgrade went live. About all I've done is relist my clothing, which probably wasn't the best idea since much of it is the old BE stuff and probably won't work or be desireable... and in 2 weeks it will all come up again.
I've recruited a BE to help me with tissues, but I have to get the supplies.
I'm just hoping to find a way to keep my modest business going, and to find some way to keep things fresh for myself and my customers.

I guess people found that making BE clothes can be a good buisness.
I know on our server several new tailors.... already have stocked the new BE clothes while I am still trying to get tissues.
Yeah... there are too many new Master Tailors on Lowca with the free respec stuff.
I'd be happy if some BE's got some great factory runs of tissues...
Pre-CU Stim City (Intrepid/Naboo) had crates of the stuff - now? I can't find the new tissue's anywhere. The LARGE GUILDS (SGO for an example) have been hunting/milking for Icho since day1 (you go girl!) but my guild has lost almost all of it's members since CU went live. ![]()
I love my professions - I hate the fact that I die by being looked at. ![]()
Respec or no, I'm HAPPY there are more crafters - I only hope SOE gives us MORE to craft! (and a STANDARD color pallet for Master for all clothing!) ![]()
