I play quite a bit on Wanderhome and can't help but notice 2 master tailors quit this week citing the proposed vendor nerf. One of which had the largest, best stocked store I've yet seen in-gameand was a personal favorite of mine. Ugh! I was kinda wondering whether TH's statement and the temporary retraction of the nerf would be enough to stem the tide. I guess I have my answer.
Incidentally, as someone who is now looking through the "tailors by galaxy" list that we keep stickied, trying to find a "new favorite tailor" I have a suggestion: shop waypoints (where appropriate). Seriously, for those that "want to be found" I'd almost rather have a waypoint then a name, at least initially.

Yeah, I'm considering leaving as well. It's not so much about the numbers they posted, I'm sure they will be changed for the better. It's the way the devs act. It feels like a slap in the face, followed by no excuse of any kind. Too many broken promises and no skill at communicating with the customers doesn't work in the long run. It's probably time for a change for me.

It could be worse...you could all be Smuggler/Combat Medics who use a vendor to sell the stuff they make...then you'd REALLY feel picked on by SOE.
My Tailor character doesn't have a vendor yet, as I'm not in production. However, I'm considering going into the made-to-order business, and using a single vendor for collection. However...can I do that? Or am I gonna have to have a perma-999999 item in there, just to keep the vendor open? Or is there a set number of items you need to keep your vendor active and un-deleted? I've never used one before, so I don't know...

Hahaha, well my character on wanderhome IS in fact a smuggler/combat medic. oy vey! lol But no, he has no need for a vendor, cause he can't make anything of value for anybody "anybody wanna buy some grey gabaki? I'll sell you a crate for 2k" lol. Owch, hurts just to think about it.

im have been very temptedto cancel my accounts, but i keep holding off, hoping for stuff to get better.
my main is a MCM/ Pistoleer, (recent over nerfs hurt), but since pvp has been broken, i went to my alt account MAS/M tailor/ Merchant.
Now if this merchant nerf kicks in, for me this may be the straw
the broke the accounts.

I'm just very tired of continual, radical changes. Changes that more often than not take away things to do or make them so much more difficultthey become unfun and are simply not worth the time.

A *lot* of people I know have quit over the past week or two. I am not sure if it is the vendor nerf or what. I'm guessing that it is just one too many nerfs. As a crafter trying to run an online business, it is really hard to play a game where the rules change from week to week.

I'm sure it a "Straw that broke the camel's back" story. The community at large is so **edit** sick and tired of SOE FIXING THE WRONG PROBLEM!!

I haven't quit (yet) but i have stopped making new components and i'm just slowly using up the ones i have, only restocking the fastest sellers.
If the limits were anything less than 500 per vendor or less than 2000 aggregate then i'll quit, but at or around those figures i might just drop one of my crafting professions. Hopefully they will be much higher, but i cant see that

I know what you mean. A female rl friend of mine who had become master tailor and had a great vision of starting out her own business.. felt so unsecure about theese new changes that she just quit the whole game. That is sad. I know that she would have been a great tailor. Tailor and starting a tailor business was her reaon for playing this game.
Hopefully devs come to their sences again.. and Ill do my best to talk her into playing again.

I've continued to stock my shop, with the hopes they change the caps to acceptable numbers. I'm screwed if the proposedchange goes through. I've thought of some business model alternatives if it does, however, I have a feeling I may be cancelling my tailor account.

A small disclaimer before starting, I have NO problem with empty vendors being removed or any non legitamately owned vendors being removed from people who have not invested points in the merchant vendor line, all I DO have a problem with is the low proposed limit for items.
Anyone who thinks that 110 items per vendor is adequate obviously doesnt play something like my char who is a master tailor/master artisan/master fencer/merchant 0004, the sheer number of items I can make is bewildering as is the sheer number of various resources I need to make a lot of these items.
I LEGITIMATELY have the maximum number of vendors You can have at that level (3 retail 2storage) but even my storage vendors have over 110 items on them!My artisan vendor could maybe live with the vendor nerf.....
.....However my2 retail tailor vendors (in very high traffic areas on corellia and dantooine) have EASILY 400+ items and normally double that number just due to the bewildering array of colours and variations that people want (matching colours of shoes, belts, bandoliers, gloves, headwear, jackets, pants, skirts etc) My regular customers and there friends come to my vendors and pass my name and location along to others as they know they'll get a wide variety of styles and colours (especially if you're a twi'lek and female hehe) They are unhappy to as they know a low cap limit would severly dent there choice (heck i have about 110 items of Twi'lek headwear alone on my dantooine vendor!) I loved tailoring (and SWG) for the variety and wide range of choices it gave me but recently it seems that freedom and choice is becoming ever more limited with every patch *sighs*
Ialso dont thinksome of the posts on the merchants forumregardingusing merchants to sell higher numbers of your wares if you cant/wont take up merchant vendor skills orcan't/won't buy a second account are viable either......I would LOVE to find someone who has time to replace atLEAST 50-60 items EVERYDAY often with individual tags on them (wookies only, female only, not wearable by X species..) and all at varying prices....and all that aftertrying tofinding someone trustworthy enough who you know is goign to be on and available when your ready to do business and who isnt going to rip you off or go on holidays unexpectedly.
I don't think i'd quit tailoring if the vendor nerf went ahead as it stands(Loveit too much still even after 9 months), but i'd be forced into selling popular items in popular colours (I.E. Black gunmans dusters.... *sigh* c'monGuystry something different please!!) I don't think any good tailorwants to see us forced into that type of situation...and I can understand why many will want to quit, i'll probably wind up back sitting on my brackaset outside theed doing custom orders only, like I used to do back when I started doing tailor. only nowadays I normally travel with my tag off as the number of tells I get is just crazy if its on and will probably get worse as more tailors leave for fear of the proposed nerf...eeeek more tell hell!!
Bah! I hate sounding so negative, but thats all I see in introducing an item cap thats anywhere NEAR as low as the one that was proposed.
....and we'll not even get me started on the dyes idea GRRRRRRR!!
