There is really something wrong with the system though when you can grind your way to tailor in 8 hours, but playing normally it takes over a year

Yes, most crafting professions can be had within a day or two if you have the necessary resources for the grind. Grinding takes away a lot of learning that is useful for players. It's sad seeing Masters who have no knowledge of how things work. My alt used to be a Master Droid Engineer and I always marvelled at the people in the DE forum who asked questions about putting together modeules, yet they were Master.
I admit I have ground skill boxes in some professions from time to time to meet an need. I did it yesterday with the business line of artisan on my new alt. I needed to get some vendors placed before I went to bed, it was getting late and my baby was not going to sleep, so I did Business I to Business IV in about 15 minutes. I could have taken less time, but I had to get up now and then and put a soother in my baby's mouth.
I have never ground a complete profession. Tailor took meabout a monthto do, mostly masslow low end clothing for sale in a vendor. Sadly, most of it never sold. This is why a lot of people grind crafting professions, because it's hard to make money until you are master.
AndCONGRATULATIONS Victoria!

Couldnt agree more.
If it was my choice id limit crafting exp on grinding a bit, but increase user exp a load.

I agree, but that is always the problem with a game that has both casual and power gamers. I wish there was a good way around that problem!
But I guess this means no more sending me customers that you can't make items for
