Im still a novice tailor but people (mostly armor smiths) lately started to ask
me for synthetic cloth schematics (made of their own resources).
I didnt have the slightest clue what the usual price is for those schematics,
so I asked what they are willing to pay for it.

It was around 200c, now the thing is after a while I realized this just isnt
worth it because since you cant trade schematics, you have to do it via the bazaar,
and between meeting the person who needs the schematic, getting the resources
from him, going to a pub crafting station, making the schematics and setting
them up on the bazaar, I could have done a set of missions in the same time
(and earn way more money) or I could have restocked my bazaar listing and what not.

So what is a normal price to charge for synthetic cloth schematics (100 uses)?
I know this is probably a nub questions, but I just havn't bothered with schematics
until now

My price depend if it is a new or an old returning customer.
I charged 3K per 25 crate for synth cloth (raised it to 3500 due to the factory redeed bug)
And I charge 4K per 25 crate of reinforced.

Some of my old customers pay more then I ask, because they know it takes 3-4h to get 100 for them.

I do not sell schematics at all.

One mroe note.. when I was making schematics, I charged 50cr per item in scematic, so a 100 schematic costed 5K. the more honorable Armorsmiths paid this, and some lowlifes just wanted to pay for the resources it costs me making it.. so I stoped selling them.

They are sooooo taking advantage of you. I've only sold one schematic EVER and that was because of the factory bug. I simply couldn't provide crates. I think I charged him 6k becauseit wasn't worth my time otherwise. Even at 6k he got a great deal, avg a crate goes for 2.5-4k. Let's take 2.5k beingwhat you would charge normally for a crate. You'dmake 10k on a 100 schematic. Basically I gave this guy a 4k discount, oh sure he has to provide his own resources, but that comes to what 1300 cr (based on avg .65 per resource if self harvesting).

Pretty much though with factories working semi efficiently now without the redeed cost ifthey wanna buy from me they have to buy my crates end of story, no deals.

Boy that sounded snotty. I meant it's not worth my time as in having to use his resources, having to trade it through the vendor, etc. Just not my cup of tea.

Setting aside the pricing of schematics and the wisdom of selling them in the first place, what is the actual mechanic for physically trading them?

I was going to trade a schematic just to help out a friend, and couldn't figure out a method to do so. Secure Trade didn't work, then I tried to put it on my vendor, but I couldn't figure out any methodology for getting the schematic to go from my datapad to the vendor. There didn't seem to be any way of getting a schematic into the "for sale" window.

Am I missing something obvious here?

you need to load it into their factory.

No, you can trade through your vendor. when you put up an item for sale there is a tab on the left. It is default set to your inventory. You click the tab for datapad and then move it over like a regular item.

you can choose "datapad" when offering items to a vendor or putting up for sale. its up at the top of the item selection

Makes me sick how people try to fool you when you leave pricing to them :/

I thought if I asked them to tell me what they are willing to pay for a schematics theyd come up

with a price thats abit lower than the average price. But paying me 200c for a 100 schematic (-20c

bazaar fee) when other people sell them for 10x that price is just rude :/

@SueDenim: You can sell them via the bazaar. Just tell the buyer the moment you put them on the bazaar

and he will buy them 3 secs later.

I charge 15k for 100 cloths, or 150 credits per cloth. IMO thats not a bad price. 7.5/cr per resource, not counting the maintenance and power that it takes to run the factory for this time, and the re-deed hassles. I hadn't actually sold any reinforced crates, but i was gonna figure about 20-21k.

If someone wants me to do it with their own resources, using my factory, ill knock off 3-4cr per resource provided. If all they want is a schematic, and plan to use their own resources in their own factory, ill usually throw it together for free, so long as they come to my house to get it. They usually tip me some amount anyways.
