Tailor Archive
Thread: after reading readme first, suggestion for tailor webpage:
most Tailors are familier with TK fashions and the codes for the Pallette, the sites also shows what BE goes where.
Currently it is the best we have in my opinion, and am greatful Tiaga took the time to do it.
Our hopes would be to have such a feature ingame..client picks item, color, possible BE..Tailor recieves order for it...but we know how that goes.
Well, that page is mostly known by those with special interest in it, wich is why I believe in a true SWG tailor page *grins*
How hard must a customer or new tailor look to find that page? How easy is it to take color choices from that page and bring it into the game so that tailor/customer understands what they want?.
would be alot easier if there were a true page for tailors.![]()
We do also have an swgtailor.com (it's currently down, we're hoping it'll come back soon
), which has lots of guides and other helpful tailor things.
I'm as confused as Ani. Wouldn't making a copy of TK Fashion be the same as having it?
What I'm meaning is one webpage, collected, one place, not 5, not 10.
1 place.
If anyone asks, you give em 1 url. without needing for anyone, be it tailor or customer to have to go look in the forums, and shuffle through page after page of urls and tips.
I used to have 10 different tailor pages in my favorites, because each and every one had a lil bit of info I could have used, ior found I needed. I find that having 1 place, would be better.
Heck, if you ask me, every profession should have 1 place like that
If anyone asks, I usually do give them one URL: www.readthestickies.com/tailor (not sure if it's been updated yet though)
That takes them to the read me first thread, which links to any information they could possibly want.
Very nicely designed!
I like it, nice and streamlined. The only thing wrong that I see is that the outfits and catalog buttons take me to the same page.
But, this does show why there really won't ever be one single tailoring website. Everyone wants their own. And that's wonderful! I love looking at people's websites and seeing what they can come up with. I'd be tempted to make my own, but 1. I'm unwilling to spend money on it and 2. I'm clueless when it comes to codes and other computer gibberish. ![]()

Thanks for letting me know, Mira! I'll have to make a "Page Under Construction" page for my catalogue.

No you don't. In web design terms that's a definite no-no
Really, you don't want people to visit your nice looking site, expecting stuff and then hitting a "Oh, sorry. Under construction"-page. Very annoying for an otherwise promising companion. Especially if it's the catalogue, which is probably the main thing people are going to need. Just imagine all the annoyance
Best to leave out any reference until it's done.
So you reckon I should leave the link going to the Outfits page from the Catalogue page until I get the catalogue up and running? (I'm not actually giving out the link as yet, so it probably doesn't matter all that much)
