Thread: Add BioEngineered Cloth to Factory?

I decided to become a Tailor/Bioengineer mainly so I could make my own special clothing. I've just got Field Wear III and I've noticed that many of the items require factory made Synth Cloth, Fiber Panels, etc.

How would someone add Constrictor Cloth, for example, to a factory? Doesn't a factory require exactly the same stackable components?

It seems to me that if one can't add bioengineered products to factories then there isn't much point to the skill since most advanced items seem to require factory crate materials.

Can Bio-engineer components not be made in factory crates? Probably a different factory needed to make them, but thats how I think it would be done.

So far as I know, I don't think they can make factory special cloth.

I'll ask my bioengineers.

I'm an idiot. You're right. It completely slipped my mind that you can probably make the bioengineered stuff in a factory. This is what happens when you stay up all night tailoring.

So far, none of the bio-engineered schematics work in factories. Help your fellow professionals out and complain loudly about this problem! Not to mention the part about our enhancements not showing up in writing on the final product. They work, but your customers just have to trust you.

So you can't factory produce synthetic cloth can you?

Correct.

I am (sadly) starting to think maybe this is by design. My pet bioengineer only has two boxes of experimentation and he can already make single shots of myoflex with +3. Look at an item that requires 5 pieces of factory synthetic cloth - that'd be +15 to entertainment healing in one garment. Or +15 bleeding resistance or whatever. And multiple pieces of clothing stack.

Now.. I don't think that is too big of a deal.. and would make clothes MUCH more sought after. But maybe someone at SOE in their infinite wisdom figured it would be too much of a deal, which is why BE schematics don't work in factories. I'm really hoping they will prove me wrong, or BE components for clothes will mostly be a little oddity.. something cool, but still an oddity.

If I could make a creature handler a full set of clothing that gave +45 to concealment.. now.. THERE is something to tempt him out of his armor.

BioEngineer items are made with a Food and Chem tool... are you saying that you can't factory produce them with a Food and Chem factory?

Right now, Bio Engineer Schematics do not work with factories currently. I've been asking around on our server and the response that I've gotten back seems that this was an intentional thing and not a bug.

But don't quote me as cannon, please, I'm still investigating the matter.
