Anabelle,
I just crit failed on the special aprons. I remember reading that we were not supposed to crit fail on these. The heavy leather is VERY difficult to get ahold of and since they can only be used three times, failing on just one is really not much fun. It took me a while to get the heavy leather.
thanks, let us know what to do while we wait for an answer. I submitted a ticket to CSR.

Did it count off one of the uses? Because I believe I read that you could indeed crit fail, but it would not be counted off. I could however, bemistaken.

Oh cry a river...
Us armorsmiths fail on RIS... which is loosing millions, and jedis fail on lightsaber costing them millions.
Now we need to hear pretty little taliors crying about a free schematic and 2 pieces of leather. BOOO HOO.

Tailors usually do not deal in items costing millions...

That's the way it's suppose to work.

Dear troll, please take your bad analogies back to your own board. These schems are pretty obviously different than both RIS and lightsabers. It also contradicts the intended way these schems are supposed to work.
If you don't like crit failing on RIS, maybe you should talk to your correspondant and do something constructive about it instead of using it as a bad example in your little troll posts. I will never understand why some people feel the need to come into our board and flame us. I hope it made you feel like a leet uber manly man, but please know that no matter how big it makes you feel inside, it makes you look like an immature child to everyone who read that post.

The worst part about it was having to tell a friend that her crystalline treatment and 1/3 of her schematic uses went down the drain.
That is probably the most disappointing thing because most of us tailors have someone already in line to buy these items. As rare as the heavy leather is, it really does hurt.

Not usually...but I think we might be starting to
This AS obviously doesn't have to go into Fort Tusken or kill Nightsisters for his RIS components....

No, he has to kill Woolimander Harrowers, Peko Peko Albatrosses, Reclusive Gurk Kings, and Giant Dune Kimogilas…I'm not saying he's any less of a troll, just saying all of these non-standard schematics require killing annoying things. On the other hand, as far as I know of RIS schematics aren't limited-use, nor are lightsaber schematics (although I'd like to point out that you do not need Krayt pearls for lightsabers—crystals looted from Meatlumps will do, just won't make as good of a saber). So there's a pretty big difference right there.
