Thread: New influx of swordsman?

Has anyone noticed the drastically higher novice heavy swordsman running around? Is this due mainly to the scythe? Unfortunately, I hit master a couple days before scythe went live and for me it's like "oh that's nice, too bad I don't really need to xp any more." So I have a low desire for the scythe. But since then I'm seeing a lot more novices with power hammers running around, I've asked some that I've trained and they said they wanted scythes.
Give me a more experimentally-accurate power hammer anyday over the scythe.

I wanted to use the extra skill points on my armorsmith toon to try out a melee profession. TKA was right out (God those guys are annoying) and yes, I fell in love with the scythe. I also enjoyed the look of the other weapons, and the feedback on this forum is much more positive than on the pikeman forums.

this game is getting old fast. the only way to keep it fresh is to keep learing new professions. hopefully some kind of expansion is will come by soon, other wise i'll be too board with it to continue playing.
pvp sucks, no skill involved only mod stacking and macro compiling. if i want pvp i play planetside. so pve is all that matters to me, and the occasional grouping.

Noticed.. When I got master I was around the 5-6th Master Swordsman I had ever seen on the server.. now there are lodsa novices.. Kinda nice though, I get lots of app exp.

I don't know if a lot of swordsmen hide their titles or what, but on flurry, I have to spend a good couple of hours to find someone to train me. I finally gave up and decided to pay the 8k credits and go get trained by an npc. Even my guild says that I am the only swordsman they ever see running around.

Well personally i went Novice Swordsman for the simple reason a friend of mine was having so much fun with it and to be perfectly honest i was getting bored with rifleman .
It may be that ive not paid much attention before but i have to admit, i seem to see a lot more Novice Swordsmen now than i did a few weeks ago.

The thing that really gets me is with this influx, there are so many "Apprentice Swordsman" running around wielding Power Hammers asking how swordsman get xp, and why they can't use their best weapon.
But the thing that i really don't understand is looking at Huan's post (nice comparison btw) about the relation between other elite class weapons craftable by genosian loot, you can see a HUGE discrepancy between other classes and swordsman. So why are they coming here? surely, it can't be for the UBER weapons, can it?

They see the scythe and go "Whoaaa, sweet weapon, I want it!!!". When I haveone out in coronet, tons of people just ask me about it, and then ask me what's the best way to get xp, etc. I was kinda liking how not that many people I knew were Master Heavy Swordsman...so for those of you that are coming into swordsman-- Go away!!!

Yeah, once they realize how little damage we do in pvp and how much our defenses suck...they will all go away 
But of all the new weapons, IMO, the scythe is the coolest of em

heh, i went swordsman just recently myself. the reason is b/c i watch a friend of mine master sword as part of a holo, and saw how much fun it looked (and it is too). so i thought id give it ago. like i said, his was part of a holo, but he liked it so much that he kept it. and i have to say, i dont think id drop it any time soon.

I have this problem too, I was in fort tusken last night and some guy was asking to see while is was in a fight with a warlord. Come on, at least wait until i kill the ugly mob

I agree the scythe is the coolest weapon in the game right now. I think our defenses are decent i went into a room at tusken with 9 tuskens, 2 cheifs, 2 captains, 2 commoners, 1 sniper, and 2 raiders. I was killed but only because i was a dumb ass and was pressing my hot key for Rezzing instead of the hkey for stim d's. I was able to take down 5 of the tuskens before they got me. I love Area attack 1. I'm only 2-4-2-3.85 in swordsman right now, but i took a long break to pick up Doc b/c i got tired of CH.
