Thread: So... is a 2H Sword TOO powerful?

I was dropping Whites with 1 hit with my Heavy Axe and "2HandHit". Occasionally, I had to hit them twice, but since I'm a Rodian, I get a +10 to 2H Melee, so that wasn't that hard.

Should it be this easy to kill things and get XP with a 2H Sword?

I dunno but like someone else already posted on the rifleman board, this sounds like an uber combo with a Rifleman's mind based attacks.

2h is not overpowered. It's simply higher damage, higher wait time. Risk vs reward, it's a playing style in almost every other MMORPG. When you use a low damage, low wait time weapon missing isn't that bad. But when you miss with a 2h you have about a 5-7 window before you can attack.

So it's not overpowered, just a different style. Usually what happens is people flock to the big weapons becuase they think they are uber. That is until they get into a group and they see big damage gets big aggro. Usually the first one dead is the 2h guy in most groups I have played in thus far.

Once you move on to better rats, you'll see the difference, it's defiently not overpowered, or more people would play it.

erm... I meant to say "mobs" instead of "rats" I've been camping a static spawn of rabid rats for 2 hours and it's starting to warp my brain

It does seem kinda overpowered im expert 2H now and ill go out everyday and kill yellow mobs for a few hours but some of them i drop in one hit, others it can take like 5 if im really unlucky but it does seem to get in some very lucky blows here and there

Trust me, if you think it's overpowered, try PvP

No kidding about the PvP being rough stuff. I was with a factiongroup raiding a town, I was the only melee and they all had rifles/carbines. The combined volley from the group of 12 meant that the dude was dead in about 2 seconds, I hit maybe 2 times the entire time we were there, like 45 mins. One-on-one would suck even worse, imagine trying to catch some dude who's rapid firing at you while running his butt off!

Is there a grenade that can slow and/or reduce the melee defence of another player? That would make our jobs much, much easier.

Yeah, we're pretty much screwed in PvP until we reach higher levels, other meele classes attack faster so they can usually use a lower posture move then get in 2 attacks on a kiter, if we use a lower posture move we're gonna have to wait for about five seconds before we can attack again, and that gives the person plenty of time to get up and run away.

Heavy Swordsman aren't even that much more powerful than ranged players in PvE either. I mean, most ranged players can just kite creatures, and take out red con mobs no problem, sometimes without their HAM going past half. Swordsman need to actually go up to the creatures and bash their brains in. Slight difference in the damage intake.

Yup brawlers generally have problems dealing with mobs that KITE. Remember though, mobs run faster than players, so a mob that kites you can NOT be outrunned. Well good luck lol!
