I know this is a place of bias, however, I will ask here to get some input and no flamage. I am a TKM and i love the profession...truly uber in PvE. Now, I have 2/1/2/3 in swords and i am seriously contemplating going to master but I would need to drop TKM. Is this a wise decision or am I just being stupid? All you Master Swordsmen (and women) out there...what do you think?
I am not a PvP'er, I hunt on Dathomir and Endor mostly and, as a master Creature Handler I am everafter searching for the elusive Bull Rancor so the Meditation tree really helps. What do you all think...should I drop TKM for swords or just keep TKM? Any help is greatly appreciated!

TKM are the best at PVE... They have ubber damage....
I wouldn't say that they're the best... You're comparing Swordsman and TKM, and Swordsman, in many opinions, is the better PvP profession.
I would recommend, if you can, keeping TKM Meditation IV for healing purposes. Everything else is pretty pointless unless you want to keep KD.

Here it is buddy Sword/Doc is imo best template for pve .. You are completely self reliant you can heal any state attacks <NS Bleeds> u can heal yourself for over 2k per stim...need i say more lol...yeah goin with a stacker template with a little medic is also a good way to go . I personally am a sword/doc and there are veryvery few mobs i dont like to solo.....when u speed cap swords and get a great PH you can own in pvp also.
there you go

i droped TKM for swords a week ago and all i can say is im glad. I kept mediatation and all the tk defenses ect but swords is just so much better. Having the Power Hammer in pve is a life saver compared to just having kenetic dmg againt high end mobs with 50% + resist to kenetic but only like 10% to blast. I havent tested it much in pvp but for pve i like it a lot better.

ROFL... swordsman is the best melee PvE profession in the game, and IMO best melee PvP profession as well (but it requires a lot of money and preperation).

Think about it: Swordsman vs. Krayt : Blast Damage
TKM vs. Krayt : Kinetic Damage
Alot of high powered mobs have very high kinetic resists...

thing about swordsman is, there is a lack of defenses compared to TKM and Fencer, atleast coming from a carbineer standpoint.

I was a TKM for a while but only as "something to do" while I worked my way up the swordsman path. TKA it is insane how easy it is to get experiance... and works out as the best "all-round" melee proffesion so helped me out when I got in tight spots.
Anyway I digress.. I dropped TKM in favour of TKA 4314, which combined with my master swords is a decent PvPer, (I have all the dedicated state attacks force of will and knockdown along with most of TKA defences.
BUT it is in PVE I really shine Master Swordsman is the king there no question and if you complement it with another's proffesions defences (fencer is best, but TKA second choice if you don't have medic, meditate is INVALUABLE then), on its own as a stand-alone proffession sowrdsman as many flaws... it only seems to work VERY well if you compliment it with another proffesion.

In PvE swordman damage is by far more powerful than TKM. Whiles TKM currently only have the choice of kinetic damage it doesnt leave them alot of option facing mobs such as some nightsisters who will have 100% kinetic defense. i love the TKM but sadly they arent too good against high end mob. Dispite many critizim TKM still remains a deadly foe in PvP, not that, that interests you. With the damage out put of swordman, they are better choice for high end mob. you might considered crossing proffession with tka and swordman however swordman arent great without that last speed bonus at master. so not worth dabbling in swordman

TKM gives you better attacks but less damage.
Sword gives you realy good damage but not to many good attacks.
Im a Sword/TKM. I use TKM most the time but switch to swords when i bump into something large (TKM for PvP).

I was also a TKM who converted to a Swordsman. The bottomline......Swords gets two types of damage to choose from....kinetic and blast. That is a HUGEpve factor.

I've been a TKM since I started, and just became master swordsman. And other than the fact that swordsman has blast damage, which I grant is a huge asset along with granting that my experience as a swordsman is very limited, I don't think it's true that sword damage is better. I can see that with maxed speed it will be, but without VERY expensive weapons and SEAs, TKM seems better to me.
Yesterday I was duelling two relatively new players in the Coronet SP and was using my PH (4.0, 540) with little success, I was winning, but it was taking far too long. So, I took out my run of the mill VK (200 damage) finished the job and went about my business.
