Any you guys asking about this?

read:

Examples of Dark Armor and Sword Weaponry

Originally, cortosis alloys were only possible in the Old Republic, but since the rise of the Empire, various technicians have unravelled the exceedingly arduous methods by which cartosis fibers can be woven into certain alloys, though the process is still extremely expensive and time consuming. (10,000 credits for the construction, 25,000 credits for the armor itself.)

A Sith Sword

A cortosis altered blade attached to an ordinary sword hilt, the Sith sword was often a match for a lightsaber when wielded by a trained Sith warrior. The alterations allow the blade to deflect blaster bolts and lightsabers, just as lightsabers themselves do. The blade also focuses the Force energy of the user, giving the edge an unnatural sharpness. As the wielder grows more proficient in the power of the Dark Side, the blade becomes more deadly.

In addition, Sith swords are effective against lightsabers because of the way the cortosis altered metal refracts the lightsaber's energy. Sith swords retain their hardness against attacks from lightsabers and to not require powerpacks or energy cells.

lol this sounds fun but i dont think they will ever give us something this powerfull, but i do like the idea of the deflecting the baster bolts might give us more of a chance againt gunners, since we are trained in melee combat we must have fast reactions so we should get a % to deflecting if we have the right sword. Also want to point out that we should get more types of swords, yes yes been said 100 times but come on PH is our only weapon we get cert for in our whole training on swordman

Yeah it was in KOTOR... Would be interesting as a master sword type weapon, and would be more visually fun to watch rather than seeing +counterattack+ to see a blaster bolt deflected, but then jedi are gonna scream I would bet. Would be really fun though... maybe add a rare or a master quest? Dunno, I would like it, but wouldn't expect it.

Cortosis is mentioned in Jedi Outcast anda Sith Sword is actually used by Tavion in the last battle (if you're a Light Jedi... Dark Jedi fight Kyle).

jedi's are not suposed to have a % chance to block blaster fire.......they are suposed to be able to do it almost everytime, with the exception of mass battles where they cant tell whats going on (ie clone wars)

jedi's have an inate ability to see 2-3 seconds into the future......hence the ability to block the shots that come for them......sime jedi can see farther into the future, like the infamous yoda(yay go yoda)

but the devs said they were woking on getting the jedi to reflect, or counterattack blaster fire

Cortosis? Uh-oh, some one has been reading the dark side source book. Too bad you have to be a dark jedi to obtain/construct these Items.

See thats what I dont understand. WHat does your affiliation with the force have anything to do with your technical knowledge and the scientific method of processing cortosis?

It would seem to me that any scientist or master weapons maker could have special knowledge of this substance. WHat.....you get the dark side and BAM, you know how to make cortosis?

Cortosis weave armor, dark armor, and Sith Swords are all created by using the alchemical secrets of the sith, and through using Sith sorcery (a form of the the force). And in order to even get schematical information, you need to find another sith, or a sith holocron (in the extended universe, these are far more rare than in SWG). So in order to make any of this stuff have to have a force user, with knowledge on ancient sith secrets.

I say send a sample to Bill Gates and let him use Technology to crack the chemical and molecular make-up

technology can't handle the force man! It cant handle it! Don't you get it man!? Its the force man! the FORCE! Bill gates would be all like whoa, its just a normal hunk of metal man. And then he would be all like, 'yeah, but how does it do this crazy voodoo man? And so then he would be all like, yeah man, I think I will just go make another billion dollars and leave this stuff alone.
