What can you solo?
what can you take with a small group of two or three?
I read one report that it took a group of near 30 to get past the first kwi to first room in geo.
Seen a few other threads in various forums saying if you want to take higher end mobs Melee need not apply
any info?
I have loved swords forever, but i like being able to fight a lot of diverse things. If we are crap now I may have to find a ranged prof (reaaalllly don't want to)

Well lets put it this way.. PVPing sucks when you are melee. If you are fighting a ranged profession. All they have to do is root you and you move so dam slow that it is pretty much over.

Swordsman has taken a huge blow. I got my same templet shown on my signature and tried to run a Rebal mission off of the terminal at the Rebal Base on Rori. The Mobs owned me. I went to the frog and got pikeman 0/1/4/0 for warcry and intimidate.
Still got owned. This was in full Battle armor using the Sith Sword and hammerand the Mobs did not have armor!!!
The days of swordsman soloing anything, even you own missions off the terminals are going away with CU.
I grouped with some other players (mast. fencer, master pistol, TKM) and went hunting for Krypts. We were all instant incapped.
The Devare makingthe game too hard and taken away the fun.
Mobs are hitting way too hard. Game killing hard.
Our group got tired of being incapped and went to the Jawa vs. Tusken and took out our frustration.
Just my humble 2 cents.
I will try Master Pikeman / Master Swordman tonight and see what happens.

umm high lvl mobs are not balanced yet. anything over the lvl 50 is not balanced yet. so ithe krayts 1 hitting you i do not believe will happen come live.
also i dont have much of a problem killing range users. playing as a swordsman you need to learn the art of making the range user come to you. meaning instead of running right at the person you run away and around a corner where they can't shoot you. they would have to come close up to you to attack. like pvping in Ancorhead i run into the cantina allm the time or the cloning center. cuz when i do i am close enough to do damage. and when that happens a range user doesn't have a chance. also a few things.
you neen to dabble with Swords. right now on test i am Master Swords/Pike/brawler tka 4140. at x1xx you get improved COB which really helps out. so ya they rooted you? well use Warcry from the pike tree. if you catch it at the right time they will not be able to attack you while you are in root. when you are close enough you should kd them followed by a armor break. then ether intimidate them or just start spamming head hit and critical hit or what ever other high damage attack that you have. it works well for me.

Well the way it works now, any PC or NPC gets a Combat multiplier if they are a higher Combat Level then you(Now, i havn't noticed getting this Multiplier myself when fighting a Lower level mob yet though). So Basicly If your target is a higher level then you by more then a few levels, Expect to get handled. The max player level from all i have seen is 80(jedi may be higher, i wouldn't know, havn't seen One yet).....And the Majority of the "big" game targets have levels well over 100.
Like Somone else said, Krayts basicly "One shot" everyone & anyone, because thier level starts in the 150's. Hell when i was running to my house with a Crafting spec(CL1) i got one shoted by a crazed Durni for like 2800 damage....
Armor, from what i can tell has little to no effect on anything(PvP experimenting).

This is what I did. I found a skill builder that had the new CU skills in it (I have the program, but lost the link, will post up once I find it again), and planned out the template I have currently MSwords/MBrawler/Fencer3440/Medic2440 and it wasn't bad I guess, but ingame it didn't give me 3000 health since I wasn't a double master (can't remember the level, but that is cheap...), so I changed it to: TKM / MSwords / MBrawler / Pikeman 0030 (Pikeman for intimidate). I then proceeded to get a Hammer from the frog and some RIS Armor (hammer was 480-875 2.5). I was easily speed capped with the hammer, with MSwords and all that General Melee Speed. I can't remember stats on the Armor, and I don't know how the new armor works anyway, so I am not sure if it matters. Apparantly these items from the frog are more or less the best you can get in the new CU. I also decided to get a buff from the frog, and it said that this was also much better than buffs will be when it goes live.
So Now I have my template, my armor, my hammer, and my buff, so I decided to head to the Nyax Cult just to see what would happen. Now I just want to point out, that I can take on (as pretty much all of you can as well) the meatlumps at the Nyax POI (ie every NPC except Nyax himself) at the same time no sweat. So basically I am saying you can 2H Area 3 15 guys that are on you, kill them all FAST, without even having to so much as glance at your HAM. Well, NOT SO IN THE CU. I go to these guys, and I get 5 on me. First of all, I didn't even know I was in combat. There is no difference between the screen at peace and in combat (I know the music is still there, but I havent listened to that since my first month of playing). Anyway, I DID manage to kill these guys, but it took *forever* due to my lack of an Area Attack, the nerfed damage (tried all the attacks, never once saw higher than 1662 in combat log), and the fact that I had to heal every 20 seconds, and still ALMOST DIED. After about 40 minutes (which is actually 39 minutes longer than my last record of being on TC without crashing), I Make it down to Nyax. Having been Incapped twice already, I wasn't sure what to do... I was in the room outside his, had already killed the visionary (he aggroed me and ran out, gave me a run for my money but i got him), and now I was ready. With my mouse over the intimidate button, I ran in. Before I even targeted Nyax, I was dead. I got ONE HITTED by Nyax.
If that is how it is in Live, Si-yan-ara SWG.

I tried that with Tsan just send him a tell you wanna duel, i beat everybody but he can take me down like nothing. He just kds me the second i kd him then root me and then runs away and shoots me for 1k damage even intimidated. Center doesnt do anything he still hits me every shot... . Nothing works on him i can kd and armorbreak and intimidate but then im already kd rooted and he blasts me even in close combat. We started duel in close range getting kd on him instantly and its over.

As they have already said and has been said in the forums already as well... DO NOT ATTACK ANYTHING HIGHER THAN LVL 50 BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN BALANCED YET, STICK TO THE SPAWNS LVL 50 AND UNDER UNTIL THE THE HIGHER LVLS HAVE BEEN BALANCED!!!
This is why Nyax one hit killed you and many others, anything over LVL 50 is 1 hit kill until they balance it.

And now let me pose a question here. They ARE "Balancing" everything out there we kill, but if they are going to Nerf our power and defenses, and then Nerf the power and defenses of that which we fight, WHY is there a need for this "Balance"???? Won't it just end up similiar in the end????

What JC forgot to mention is that when you are grouped your combat levels add up. so 3 lv 80 players will add up to 240 overal lv. I pretty sure you have to be within the area to keep the group lv tho.. so this is not a new type of solo group..

As a Pikeman/Swordsman with no medic skills, I could solo through a great deal of the NS forced labor camp. Anything under a Sentinel wasn't too hard at all. Sentries were lvl 25, Initiates were 55, Rangers were like 70 i think, and Rancor Tamers were 75. All of those, I had no problem taking out, even if they ganged up on me. Anything higher however was pretty tough.. Sentinels are like lvl 83 i think. Its hard to say since they come in groups of three in that cave but I think in a 1v1 fight I could probably have won against a Sentinel.

Glaring exaggeration.
