Thread: To kill an elder ..... help
I use normal doc buffs, no music or musician buffs. I don't wear full armor, I wear 80% helmet, chestplate, gloves and boots. I never have to heal, as 95% of the time when they hit you they hit one of those 4 body parts and your. Keep the lady intimidated, or else you will have to heal yourself. You can do it with or without a CoB macro going, I've just recently started usinc CoB on my swordsman character (use it all the time on my fencer but never really bothered to on my swordsman). 2 brandy and an ahrisa (or canape) or just 3 brandy is plenty of mind stats for you, that you won't need to go through all the crap of getting full mind buffs like the others are insisting is necessary, trust me, it's really not. Though it would go faster with speed tapes, I don't have any, I use a 3.4spd 145-483dmg hammer (that's a 34% speed slice on a 5.1spd hammer) and I drop them in about 12 minutes.
All that being said, I find elders to be a huge waste of time. Yes there is the "possibility" of getting a super weapon or skill attachment off of one, however that possibility is so remote that I rarely bother with them. Protectors, weavers, sentinels, drop the same sort of stuff and are much easier to kill (you can drop a weaver in about 10-12 seconds for example, as opposed to 12 minutes for a non-capped swordsman using a perfectly sliced hammer). I've killed tons of elders, not because I kill a million a day but because I've been killing nightsisters from day one, and the best loot I've ever recieved from on was a force crystal... :/

I agree with this partially. Use Composite for the body and arms and go with Ubese the rest of the way.

Yeah if you use intimidate you will do a lot better. I have the same setup just instead of 4430 in TKA its 4404. I can solo them just fine, But it takes a long to kill one.

I can get a full suit of ubese for 75k on my server. Our economy is very low due to not having alot of credit duping. We came on line a couple weeks after all the other servers.
At any rate, I wear all ubese due to the lower encumbrance. On a good day, I can beat down an elder without using any stims. I have recently taken up medic for good measure though. One set of ubese is only good for about 3 elders though. At that point, you'll need another jacket. You'll go through 1 pair of pants for every 3 jackets and 1 helm for every 5 jackets. I generally loot 500k worth of stuff in the time i go through 150k worth of armor.

You can never solo anything. You'll be equal to everyone else when the Combat Revamp is complete next xmas. Then we'll all have to group just like wookies.
Side note: I really hope that they take wookie armor back out at the combat revamp and actually make you guys tougher so you don't need it.

Ugh, yeah if it were that cheap here I'd do the same. I pay abt 75k per piece on my server. As you say, the jackets don't last long and I go through one every 3 Elders or so.
