Hitwoman, I just want to point out that if your armor is more expensive, you should also get more for your loot. I'm guessing that the 500k I make on loot is worth about 2mil on many other servers.

You can never solo anything. You'll be equal to everyone else when the Combat Revamp is complete next xmas. Then we'll all have to group just like wookies.

Side note: I really hope that they take wookie armor back out at the combat revamp and actually make you guys tougher so you don't need it.

I disagree, wookiees can kill elders, It's just very difficult to do well. It does take a while, about 15 minutes each, keep them intimidated, make sure CoB is running at all times, Double Brandy, Ahrissa and synthsteak, and use a better hammer then I was using, 4.1spd 137-468. Also, don't become very attached to your armor, after the 3rd elder, my 54% chest plate was trashed. I'm sure by the time that I master brawler(again), my speed should improve and I'll be dropping elders with no problem.

good rule. "never get attached to armor" if you want to go big you shouldnt. i use ubese on everything but krayts and comp in pvp (specially made set that cost a **edit** load so i am a little attached ) ubese is great gor pve because of low encum and resis but the 20000 or so condition comparred to comp 34000 ish means by the time you get back from elder hunting you better have yourself a repair tool or have gotten something to make worth buying a new chest worth while

Everyone has hit it on the head pretty much. WIthout their force powers all nightsisters and SMCs are too easy. One thing I would like to add is that if you have master brawler, lunge2 with a dizzy combo helps too. Only problem is elders don't stay down long from kd/dizzy combo (usually get up after 2-3 falls or so)......it's even harder to get them to stick......dizzy sticks easily but kd on the other hand....lets say it takes about 10 or so attempts.....but it's worth it when you get double the damage on them for 4 hits in a row.

As far as armor, helmet is a must....don't care if it's composite or ubese....but you must have one. chest plate, arms too.....I don't wear pants and the only time I wear boots is to get the use of the speed and accuracySEA's I have on them.

80% armor, doc buffs, musician buffs (optional), brandy, arisha and a thousand intimidations and your set. At worst should take 30 minutes.

Also, It hasn't been mentioned but elders do lose something like .1% off of thier resistances for every time you hit them at a certain point. Once you get their ham to about half (just a guess) their resistances drop steadily allowing you to do more and more damage with each hit thereafter. I had her base resistances down to 17.1% and her special protection was down to somewhere around 60, maybe 70, not sure.....but either way it's a lot better than 100% special resistances.

Anyway, I use all of the above and my master swordsman/master brawler/master TKA (wasn't a master the first few times) andmedic 1-0-0-0 template to apply intimidate/KD/Dizzy/Stun/blind to her. Believe it or not....all of them can and will stick. when they do....she is totally helpless. With master brawler,intimidate2last a long time.....and with my 80% kinetic resist, she barely scratches my HAM so I don't even have to use medic at all.

The only reason I like to apply all those status effects is basically because they are very good defensive moves......blind makes her miss more often, stun lowers her attack rate slightly, intimidate halves her attacks, KD and Dizzy combo makes her unable to attack me while at the same time I do double damage to her......very effective on any mob you can get status effects to stick on......SBD's are the real problem....you can't stick any effects on them except blind, I think.

I actually experimented on her by getting her resist down a bit and switching to TKA (also tried it with pikeman)........well, her Armor Rating totally killed anything useful damage wise from TKA....but the specials (KD/Dizzy) stuck.......with pike, medium AP helped but switching to action attacks from mind attacks was redundant but pikes have the best and most efficient status attacks in the game, well besides carbineers.Pikes status effectswere easier to stick than TKA's were. I was speed capped with both TKM and Pike at the times I tried them also.....my theory was to get the status effects to stick as fast and as quick as possible then switch back to Swordsman........then do some real damage.

Bottom line, Elders suck without force powers and her 10,000 pt damage attack she used to do.....I also miss herdebilitation attack (cuts your mind pool in half).....at least that made her challenging....now they are nothing more than just kunga's with fancy names and no sticks withslightly scary masks on.

Here are my suggestions:

1. Don't waste composite fighting Nightsisters. 75% Ubese is way cheaper and almost as effective. Elders beat the hell outta armor.

well i personally tried useing ubese and its a little harder imo elders hit for 500-600 and ive been hit for 1500 and 2k before

2. You must go all out on your buffs, including a musician/dancer buff, brandy, arisa/canape. Consider sythsteak as well.

dont need music or dancer buff but is recommmended

3.Make sure that CoB and Intimidate are active at all times. Mind bleed and Mind Hit 3 from there.

cob is good and intim is a must another thing to try is get a little bit of pikeman and use a lance against them i have polearms 4 and use mind fire and mind posion dot lance around 240 strength it helps

4. Don't fight Elders at all. They are a huge waste of time in my book. You can kill many lesser sisters in the time it takes to down one Elder. Sure, you may get a sweet bit of loot out of it, but it's so rare that it's like playing the lottery. And, as we all know, the lottery isa tax on people that don't know math.

not even close to the lottery the drop rate on elders for loot is the same as everything elsewith the chance of getting uber loot. If you can take out an elder in 15 minutes its worth it, thats almost 12 on a set of buffs.A fellow 2 hander i know kills about 20-40 a day he has gotten crazy loot, for instance a 2 hand sword with a 752 mind dot, multiple useful +12 seas( includeing a +12 2 hand speed) exception 600+ damage pikes/lances. The way i look at it is if your into a challenge and want some uber loot they are the best to go after not to mention they are usually surounder by protectors and spell weavers which have been known to also drop uber seas and nice crystals

oh a great hint ive found to work well once you get the elder down to 30k left on ham she will start to run away first of make sure your facing to an open area pref down hill and not into another agro mob also have your taunt ready if u successfully taunt her then she will stop and you can also have her on follow that helps too

Does CoB even work vs. Elders? I used to use it all the time, but it seemed I pretty much never counterattacked vs. anything that high level.

Personally I don't use CoB unless I have 2 protectors, an Elder and a couple lower sisters on me. When in a situation like this I use my pike to clear out the others before I go to work on the elder and CoB, even with the damage I take from a pikemans block is enough to allow my HAM bars to regen given I've intimidated the terrible trio.

If you can swing it credit wise, I'd say go for the comp. It will weigh you down on your mind, but make up for that by timing your food ingestion properly. IE take a brandy and ahrisa before you shuttle to dath, pop another set after entering battle, with muon in reserve and HAM costs should never bother you. The reason I say comp, is that the ubese jackets decay far too fast in how they also cover your upper arms. I tend to carry a few extra comp peices around and usually only need to switch my chest plate out should I get real banged up. After a week of grinding out nightsisters I still don't even need to replace my biceps, I don't wear bracers, and rolled my helm and pants over once. I did alternate between a few chest peices tho. As for ubese I can utterly ruin a full suit in a day, and with the manner in which the jacket decays....you do not want it to loose effectiveness half way through an Elder.

Other than that, keep the intimidate on. I also uncrate about 8 speed powerups before engaging, keeping them out so I can slap another one on the hammer the moment it's used up. Nor do I bother with states, or hitting anything other than mind. The quicker you can get her down the less of a beating you take. It's a race between your armor condition, your stomach and your damage output.

Being a pikeman as my original master, I have a couple mind dots, and given the delay...I don't even use those untill she starts to run. Also to that effect, when she turns, alternate your attack with a taunt. Every successfull taunt will make her turn around to swing at you. You can freeze her in her tracks while you sneak in a head hit with everyother special. This way she won't warp 80 meters out, nor will she lead you back to her friends.

CoB only increases the chance that an attack on youwill miss, not that it will result in a counter attack
