Thread: Swordsman CU TC5 Info
Tip: Get a 2h heavy axe from the frog and the two-handed axe. the heavy axe from the frog is slightly better than the noob one.
Tip: It is rumored that tatooine is the starter planet, go there.

standard issue power hammer 875 max,,, scythe 707 max,,, sith sword 757 with cold dmg,,,, so if you have a really good PH lets say your dmg will actualyl be going up not down,,, thats just a quick few things

inda disapointed made me feel like logging off after a few minutes,,, Very childish,,, the text popping up was lame,,,,
1. to childish
2. the icons are really lame and dumb the look is horrid
3. I WANT A COMBAT QUE and a way to tell if we are in combat
4. GIVE BACK THE OLD CON system
5. WHY IS THERE NO COUNTERATTACK, Dodge, or block and no def vs skills,,, some spent lots on these
6. CAN WE HAVE A FEW NON CU SERVERS THAT WE CAN TRANFER CHARECTARS TO,,,, I am really not likeing this so far at all,,,
7. THE ATTACK ANIMATIONS ARE HORRID<,, look so cheesy
why changed the whole game,,, why ruin the gameplay we have had for the last 2 years,,,, we all play SWG because we liked SWG not because we hoped it would be more like WOW or EQ2,,,,
the new combat system sucks,,,,
And why convert all of our items if its just not nessecary ,,, damn the more i log onto TC5 the more angry i feel,,, im going to go play some on radiant and pretend for the next month there is no CU

/attack does 'regular' hits.
I actually enjoy the changes so far (despite the rampant amount of bugs atm)... take some guildies and go hunt together, it's fun

Sorry. Can't disagree more.
I do agree with point 2. We're used to symbols, not garish colors. However with time I think I'll get used to it. I don't play the game for how the buttons look.
4. You're kidding about the old con system, right? There were things that were conned red to me that i could drop in 1 hit and there were some that i would require 100k in food and a half hour of mind./head hits to take down. This con system actually means something.
5. Counterattack, et al. are part of the old system. We were told that many things would change. We knew this was coming. Chances are your skill tapes will be part of a CONVERSION process that will turn them into something useful in the new system. If not, I'm sure we'll all live through the ordeal.
SWG has always been more than just a "combat system"... I don't, and never have played SWG for the combat. Why? Because there are some serious design flaws in that system. I play SWG for the world, the people, the cool non-combat classes and the hope that someday, SOMEDAY, being a friggin swordsman will be fun.
*edit* So busy stumping I forgot to post my CU thoughts: Melee is very smooth feeling to me now instead of choppy and disassociative. The grunt from getting hit is a bit dorky. They went overboard on the icons but its not exactly game breaking.The skill trees LOOK ok so far to me. But I frankly think we should all reserve judgement till we've seen the character life cycle from beginning to end.
The absolute best thing about the CUare these:
1 - NO wait time when you switch weapons. I was STUNNED when we were told that people who switch weapons were "exploiting". The three second wait was way too long.In RL I can drop a hammer and draw a holstered gun in about a single second and I'm not trained in anything more dangerous than system engineering.
2 - TERRAIN now effects combat. Thank god. All I can say is let the REAL tactics begin. Hopefully done are the days of min/maxing your character and here are the days of fire and maneuver!
I haven't played as much as I would like yet but so far I'm very excited about SWG in a way I havent been since the very beginning.
