yes. do not trust these weapons. we dont know yet what crafted ones will be like. the frog weapons seem to follow a set of numbers. like the 1h and 2h brawler 2nd box weapons have the same DPS.

as to the elemental damage, its a small portion of the damage. say the scythe has 760 max or whatever, it will have 60 or so acid damage also. again not sure on player crafted weapons.

another tip for those of you who log in: mind the cons. just because a nuna is a nuna doesnt mean it wont kill your entire group if it cons purple. start your grind in bestine or mos eisley, those are the two cities with low level mobs currently turned on.

I only got to play for a bit but here is what I thought about it and any helpfull tips I might have.


Hold the Ctrl key and left click on your primary combat icon, this will turn it on to auto attack useing this attack when your are in combat (unless you change it)


I was leveling all 4 brawler skills together, each one offers nice benifets that you can take advantage with another.

un armed 1 gave me center of being and so on and so forth, I could use each one while holding a 2h axe.


Use the weapons from the frog as they do more damage atm, like they said above we dont know aht will happen to our current weapons but if a base 476 max damage PH on live is a 800ish max here... think what our acklay PH's will be after the convert? WOW, a 800+ PH could be dang near 1300-1500? holy smokes thats nice.


Differant weapons doing differant damage types is nice... now the thing is I guess I got to get an ADK for one of each insted of the PH for teh win weapon lol. Changes things up a bit which is nice IMO.


I love the fact that the "Battle" armor is our medigated class w00t, thats the best all around armor.


I plan on mastering brawler to see how that all works, because with 1h 4 and 2h 4 the pre-req for novice swords that means you will get the bleed attacks while useing your 2h weapons as well.

oh yeah Lunge is a really useful skill. it not only extends your range but it is also a knock down. it helps out quite a bit vs the slightl harder creatures.

well, i started a character and got a heavy axe from the frog. i imediately went out and got owned by a bothan information broker. i was kinda mad about that, until i realized that they've made changes also to the enemies, not just player professions. now, instead of things conning red (hard) to green (easy), they added numbers and new color coding (one was purple and another was orange with numbers in there). i'm trying to keep an open mind cause this is just the beta and things may still change. in the end, it might not be so bad. i just hope that master professions will still be able to solo reasonably tough enemies like nightsister rancor tamers, juvenile krayts, etc. as a player who prefers soloing, i hope they still make some consideration towards that.

you can put in the slash commands of elite profs. Not sure if this is a bug or working has intended

/powerattack (works)
/swordsflurry (works)

etc...

try doing the doc stuff, there are buffs you can give yourself and constant heals too.

My thoughts were this...

Early in the history of this game, everything was hard and challenging. I really do like the feeling of being able to have fun killing most mobs instead of there only being like 3 mobs in the game that give me a run for my money. I believe that as this system progresses, we will adapt. Swordsman looks like we fit our vision document pretty well. Just stay on the devs with suggestions and comments, and we will get through this.

Only partial concern i have is that I will still be able to get some worthwhile items while hunting solo. If this is implimented I will be overjoyed with this revamp. Look at all the new toys were getting too!!

Some helpfull coments, right now only tatooine has mobs that are adjusted to the cu so on other planets they are too hard but that is not intended, I got owned by a meatlump at 0030 brawler lol. There is also a comment on xp being too low so we should have less trouble leveling once they tweak that a bit. And the /command bug is definitely not working as intended, or else everyone could do every command.

A question I have is why do we have an area taunt if we are not supposed to be the tanks? Would this ability be better suited for polearm? And finnaly there is in my opinion a lack of abilities, especially brawler, if we have to get one handed tree also we should at least get some new abilities instead of just lunge, the meele attack and cob.

I agree with your AoE Taunt... we seriously have no reason for having that (go give it to TKA or Pikers!.. I don't want anything looking at me )

One thing i just noticed that concerned me ,i don't see any certs for new 2 handed weapons in the swordsman trees or scematics in weaponsmith.

I play as both and really don't want it to be the same as getting the Scythe,hopfully they just haven't added them yet /fingerscrossed

hey all can someone tell me who the frog is and where to go to find him because when i started game i just went to bazzar got a very good axe,heavy axe,curved sword and then grinded my way to master swords just liek to know who this frog guy is in case weapons are very expensive in the futre

I strongly disagree here!, i for one like the new combat system which finally allows the combat moves to be seen, unlike the old system where if you spammed enough to fill up the que you would miss the combat animation since it couldnt keep up with the combat.

So YES, i vote leave the animation alone since its moving in the right direction!

"Frogs" are the character building terminals on TESTCENTER (not live).. they hand out stuff like credits, weapons, resouces, etc to help people get on their way to testing stuff.
