1) Dual bladed sword(great accuracy, Very high dmg, Mildly slow), Long swords(slower speed), Short Swords(faster speeds), Katana(veryfast, low dmg, low ham).

Iwas thinking that the dual bladed sword should be the Ultimate sword, something that can only be equipped by a master swordsman, kind of like the jedi, and you can only get 1 schematic at a time, such as when you get master swordsman you go toan npc trainer and he gives you a schematic for the sword and when the sword schematicreaches 0uses you can go to the trainer and give theschematic to him in exchange for another schematic, the schematic should only have 2 uses, You should be able to get the schematic as much as you ike to, or maybe limit it to 2 schematics a week.

2) We need a gigantic sword like Zankantou, which is an actual sword in some countris, thicker than a cleaver, yet with devastating power and size.

3)Katana, sort of like a ninja sword, and it can be made using the same system as the one for the dual bladed one where you can only get the schematic from the trainer after a certain level, I guess it would be a pretty accurate weapon, like +15 +20 and have a moderate damage of like say 85-200 for a nice one... There could also be different kinds of katanas with different styles, colors andpatterns. Also A Vibro-Katana, It has a vibro unit to cut through flesh, gives it more damaga and more Armor Piercing.

4)Swordsman should be able touse a light saber... Think about it..... In "A New Hope" Luke follows Ben back to his shanty. Then just reaches into his trunk and tosses the farm boy a Light saber which he promptly fires up and starts swishing it around. I say allow us to use old or used Light sabers. (This could make the jedi population MUCH less then what its going to become later on after the holocron change.)

5) A mace that has electricity damage. Has an infinite dot maybe. More range, High speed, Medium Damage.

6)"The Great Sword", It has somewhere between 250-400 dmg and has ap3,it does make sense that a sword has ap3 it can cut through armor, and has very slow speed like 6-7.5 and the accuracy should be somewhere between -10 and 15. This is a sword we can get the schematic from a certain type of Singing Mountain Clan Witch, it is made with reinforced force cores, it was made using legendary steel and was put together using the force.....

7) Electrotachi -like a two handed curved sword, but longer and with a more pronounced, yet still graceful curve. ap2 electric

8) Grand Eviscerator - ablade like the cleaver butbigger in all proportions, with arakish 70 degree tip angle.ap3 kinetic.

9) Cryomace -a two handed mace featuring crystalline spikes.ap2 cold.

10) Death Watch Disrupter Blade - ablackenedsword with long, straight lines, and ablade which is widestat the diamond shaped tip.features a rectangular power packwhere theblade meets the hilt. ap2 acid.

11) Lochaber Axe, basically its a sword from the crusades that was ment to take both the armored knight out and its horse.. so i guess in swg it would be average 10 speed and 700-1000+ damage.

Some people had some good ideas, but I didnt list them because there wasnt any explanation of them. I think the last 4 should be discussed about what kinds of speed and damaga range they should have. Make sure you list what your weapons do and how they work...

A kantana does not fit the Heavy Swordsman, it only takes one hand to wield, making it more of a fencer weapon.

I think katanas are samurai swords, and I saw that one movie.... with tom cruise, the last samurai, and they were holding their katana with two hands.

You cannot base your whole belief system on a movie, espeically a Tom Cruise one.

I'll find a website that speaks about the weapon, but as far as I know (I have weilded one in real-life) they are generally single-handed.

http://www.historicalweapons.com/japaneseswords.html states that the Samurai held both a Katana and a Daisho. From this information we can infer that they used only one hand for the katana. The picture on that site also displays this. http://japanesesamuraiswords.com/ also states that they used a long sword (katana) and a short sword at the same time.

LOL wow that was mean... umm ok well if you say so, maybe wwe should come up with a different name cause I dont really think a katana should be in star wars... its not very star warsy or is it??

The movie The Last Samurai was fairly accurate about the history of Japan, and the social structure that existed. Infact, much of the movie was spent on doing research for this movie. The research was so detailed, that the armor itself was crafted by hand and in the same fasion as that of in the past. Quite a bit of detail.

As far as the sword holding, etc, I can't comment too much on that because I simply have not done the research to fully know everything. As far as the two sites that you posted, there are a few problems. The first site is basically a sales site. I did look at some of the articles and found the same problem as the 2nd site that you posted. Both sites lack sources. This may seem not important, but whenever posting information about a subject it's important to do research - even if you know about the subject. Because both of these sites lack any sources what so ever, I dont' classify them as even credible. Until a source is posted that is written correctly in the classical style of papers, I would find it hard to believe anything on the sites that were posted.

To be honest, I haven't read anything on the sites, just checked to see if they are credible...if they were, I would read it - since they are not really credible as far as I'm concerned, I can do my own research if/when I become interested enough to do it.

I agree. I was just trying to make a point, next time I'll check credibility

If I get a chance I'll find something to prove it, but I'm pretty sure it was a dual weilded weapon.

I agree with you totally vshbaa, we shouldn't have this type of sword. New swords would be pretty cool, though.

what onlymaestro is right. katana is a sword aka. weapon. swordsmanship or swordsman style/school. there it's that simple.

now how a katana is used is normally 2 handed because of the weight, but it can be used one handed with a different style.

Katana's are equal to **edit** Swords really -- you can use them one handed, or two handed depending on fighting style.

Katana blades are heavy tho - hence damage output. But they can logically be used one handed, or two handed.
