Thread: tka 4004 vs master brawler

I'm looking for some ppl that have used both of the following templates:

Master Rifle/Master Sword/TKA 4004

and

Master Rifle/Master Sword/Master Brawler

Both of these use the same amount of skills, and leave 18 sp to pick up novice medic or novic scout depending on what I'm planning to kill.

I currently use the first template. I want to know ppl's opinions of giving up the extra melee defense in exchange for the extra toughness mod and the increase intimidate and warcry skills from master brawler.

I am master rifle/master swords... with 2004 TKA right now... while grinding up swordsman... I got master brawler to help. But it didn't do THAT much. I have heard it is better for PvP.. but for PvE.. I didn't notice that much. warcry for 20 seconds was nice.. but I usually forget I have warcry. And since you can stack intimidation... that really isn't an issue.

Overall.. I like having the TKA lines. Especially because with it.. I am essentially max'd on both ranged and melee defense. And the meditation line is nice because then poison and disease aren't an issue. And if they ever fix defensive acuity.. it will be pretty sweet.

I really regard the increase in warcry and intimidation as a bonus. I'm not really worried about the timer increase with warcry2 and intimidate2, its the addition +20 mod that makes me think about it.

The meditation line of tka is really only viable when I'm using my leftover 18 sp for scout skills and doing some light pve work. It's not necessary to have if I've used those points in medic.

What it really boils down to is this: Is it worth dropping 40 points in melee defense for +5 2h toughness. Toughness is a powerful mod, but I didn't know how it stacked up with defense. My guess is that at this point synth steak is worthless because you get hit so much more often, but does the toughness make up for it. If it does, then I might as well pick up the mods for warcry and intimidate.

Master brawler is great, I gave up scout and TN to get it...with a 20m KD for swordsman is just fantastic, and the increased Intimidate is great. I dont use warcry much, but the KD and Initimdate and +5 speed make master brawler a must have for me now...of course Im also master TK on top of master Sword....and meditate is just plain handy

is that what lunge2 does? I never even looked at it.

Master brawler gives +5 speed which helps a lot unless you already have enough from tapes. Does rifle get a ranged kd? I don't think so which makes master brawler that much better for you. Warcry2 is cool since there's the 3-5 sec delay in switching weapons so you can just warcry2 and switch to rifles. Intimidate2 is a lot more useful than intimidate1 just cuz you don't have to use it quite as often and it sticks more, too.

Stacking intimidate makes it last longer, so intimidate2 is really just 3 intimidate1's stacked up. I had forgotten about the +5 speed. That's a huge difference with that. Of course, if one of these elders would just pay out, I wouldn't have to worry about it.

I have done:

M.Rifle/M.Sword/M.Brawler

and

M.Rifle/M.Sword/TK4004

I strongly believe that TK4004 makes for the better template in both PVP and PVE.

Master Brawler gives you a 20m KD, and Intimidate 2.

TK 4004 gives Meditate for wounds, poison, disease, powerboost, force of will, and a good amount of ranged/melee defense.

Just my .02

ya drop the rifles and pick up fencer for your pvp aspect... swords is one of the best pve professions in the game if you have the right weapons and tapes... do Mast Brawler/Swords/Fencer/TK 4/0/3/0 and nov medic The +5 speed bonus and the lunge2 are awesome and with fencer and swords the only thing u will be using TK for would be for meditate and defence stacking

don't forget that the meditation line (excluding FOW if your REALLY quick) doesn't affect combat untill after the fight is over. Intimidate2 warcry2 and +5 speed do. So if it is close, you need to decide if you want the skills to help in the fight, or the ability to heal yourself after you have to clone.

If you PVP I highly recommend a ranged weapon.

I have seen a number of PVP battles where there is a 60m standoff and all of the melee professions have a hard time getting action because of a lack of ranged weapons.

Plus, rifles are great in PVP for their headshot, damage, and accuracy.

So, yeah.
