Please send why you think you'd make a good Correspondent to [email protected]. Feel free to chime in about who you think would do a good job here too!

*edited the email so it's the correct one now!

I would not mind becoming the Swordsman Correspondent. I am only 13, but I am fairly familiar with our issues. I also am a Master Heavy Swordsman on Starsider, and I frequently help people out when I can, whether it is teaching skills, or just telling people what they need to do about their issues. Yeah I know, I'll send an E-mail also.

Gorecki took a break from the stress of correspondent so he could enjoy SWG

Thinking of applying myself.

With all due respect there was quite a lot of work done by Gorecki (and us) and most of the questions and requests he sent in those very thourough yet specific emailswere all but ignored. I feelthatadressing those "old" emails first might be a better use of everyone's time since, those old issues haven't changed at all and some are worse since the last patch...otherwise we would just be reinventing the wheel.

Perhaps once those issues and requests have been fixed and/or outright denied we could use a correspondent for continuing and new problems.

Any thoughts?

I cannot help but feel he also left because he felt the correspondent was not listened to at all.(http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=swordsman&message.id=5058) I don't get a sense that this has changed now. NOT AT ALL.

Why bother being the correspondent, please tell me that......

I usually try to be constructive and upbeat but this is just too much. I guess just losing a PvP duel 5 times in a row while i stood next to the guy and still seeing "out of range" come into my combatchat time and time again does not help either. I could have sworn that Q-3PO promised us to look into that issue over a month ago. (http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=swordsman&message.id=2259 )

Guess he had a lot of other issues he had to fix first (ok commandos needed some TLC too I guess) but I feel that all a correspondant hears from you is "maybe, soon and we'll look into it".

Please prove me wrong, because I realy try hard to like the game, but as soon as it starts to look up something stupid/illogical/buggy happens and resets my happyness-counter if you catch my drift.

I applied for the position and I hope whoever gets it will bring some life back to this community. It seems people have given up on trying to get any of our issues worked on and I really hope that changes because this profession has so much potential.

Akron I applaud your effort ! I went back to the original reply from Q a minute ago and its not hard to see why we lost the wind in our sails. We do need a voice but its so dang clear what is going on here it seems a bit redundant at the moment to start up some huge ship thats already found shore.

The issues are few too! There are like 4 or 5 simple things (well the server latency is without a doubt the single most complex issue in the game) we wanted looked into.. they said they would on Aug 12 and that was the last we heard.

I'm willing to help as I'm sure manyothers are just that.. the ball is in their court and they won't give it back!

i feel i would be a great correspondant, i am 22 years old, have been playing video games for 17 years and have been in collage for computer science for 2 years. i am extensive video game knowlage. and experence.

i also hold a black belt in Kuk sool won (korean style similar to Tae Kwon DO) and one in jujitsu. so i have extensive combat knowlage and experance.

My profession is in the retail business so i also have extensive public relations skills.

I was a volenteer guide on Everquest for 6 months (before quitting the game to play SWG)

In summary if accepted for the position of Swordsman correspondant, i will listen to the people, find out what there concerns are and do my best to make the swordsman profession the best it can be.

My vote for Ninja ...

I'll try to help him or the next correspondent at best as i can .. but i hope to see regulary (weekly at least) Devs's answer.

We have major issue in PvP and PvE, all listed in the past mail ... something must be done ... and i hope that Swordmen's voice will not ignored like the past months.

Any luck to the next Correspondent.

thanks for the vote. the people have spoken, we know what needs to be done now we just need to do it. the swordsman is a great profession and if properly fixed a tidal wave force on the battlefield. if chosen as correspondant i will push for the implementation of 2 areas.

1. Special attacks - most of thease are useless now. i propose to give the swordsman what he/she does best. Swing a large edged weapon, that being the case i will opt for 2 changes to our special attacks 1, introduce area bleed attacks and 2. techniques designed specificly to deal with ranged opponets. (perhaps parallysis or somthing along that line)

2. balancing of internal stats - we have low defence let's face it. not only will i push for the increase in melee defence and toughness but also blocking and evasion techniques.

we are swordsman, martial artists and soldiers. not meat shields!

If we all work togeather i know the swordsman will not only be fixed but will be the best it can be.

thank you all and take care

Ninja has my vote.

And hamstring rather than paralyze would be more appropriate, so they can still fight back but they move much slower. A few cuts to the leg will mess anyone up.

Oh and for the people that are complaining about the out of range issue not being worked on...the combat designer stated in the dev tracker a few days ago they are considering increasing range of all melee to about 15 meters to counter this issue.

Yeah, last I checked this isn't a high school election. You send an e-mail and are chosen because you effectively convey the problems of the profession with proper communication. That means good grammar and spelling, and the overall ability to make a good argument.
