Thread: kill stealers and why this game ticks me off sometimes

hello all, this is anglus aka chottuk aka tremk. I have been playing this game from its inception and have loved it. I guess I am going off on a diatribe but I guess I just had to speak out. I play this game because I am a starwars diehard fan. I play maybe on average 1-2 hours a day. Do I wish I could play more? Sure I do but I have an attractive wife (which gets in the way I must say), 2 young children and a busy private practice in family medicine. I love my guild (NRA) who have constantly helped with advice and missions (thanks guys for the help with mellichae, the harder village missions etc), and in general like the game alot. BUt today I went on the scythe mission got the mission and went about killing my krayt when two guys come along.First off I was doing well on my own, slowly widdling down mind and healing myself without a whimper of help. These 2 imps were Drow and Tasu. I tell Drow dude I dont need help. Tasu wants to group with me I ignore. Mind you there are krayts galore, why do they need to try to take mine. I asked for no help and in fact Drow asked me to heal heal him which i declined because I was a little busy taking on the Krayt. So the Krayt dies and apparently Tasu kill steals and claims he gets a flawless pearl which I think was total b.s. to just taunt me but the point is he stole my kill. I didnt need the help and didnt ask for it. He said well I never told him to go away but I did tell his accomplice drow twice and the point is most accomplished swordsmen can do this on their own like I was about to. Then they brag about how many preals they have which again is prabaly total b.s.. Or worse it is not b.s. and they knew exactly what they were doing which was stealing awell earned tough kill and reward. So now I am out any potential krayt reward from a guy who tries just to get a few pearls. IT isnt like I am doing this 24/7. SO if anyone has had a bad experience with these guys let everyone know. If I was an isolated incident I am sorry for complaining, but I was excited about my first solo krayt kill and it was stolen from under my nose by 2 arsehooooles. It just really disappoints me. Maybe I should return to reality, the free seeex, and forget the gekworld but I cant resist. My only solace is these guys playing all day long cant be getting any: believe me I have extensive psychiatric training. Forgive me my typigraphical errors but again I dont play the game 24/7 thought you would get the point

If you mean you killed the krayt that spawned when the treasure chest popped up don't worry about it, it doesn't drop anything.

I was surprised that there was still kill stealers after the huge krayt boom. I had a rifleman steal my kill because he said he was too "lazy" to find someone to tank for him. I peaced out the krayt and let it attack him, but he was doing as much damage as a Jedi would. The krayt died before he got down 1/4 health. Atleast those mission krayts don't drop anything... it's impossible for canyon krayts to drop flawless pearls too.

That kind of steal sounded deliberate. I have never had people camp on me like that. Though I am more inclined to just move on if I see others heading in my direction.
Hey, your one up on me. I opened the can, took my schematic, jumped on my bike and flew away. I had what I wanted.

sorry bro that is one part of the game that sucks, and if they told you they looted a pearl, they were full of it.
I have done about 6 scyth missions with my all my toons, they dont drop!
get your schemie and run!
otherwise like to one guy did above, if someone tries a kill steal, just leave, and complain to there guild, it might do something?

Just wait until you have a Jedi steal your Elder............
......and then describe in detail the outcome of the crystal tuning. Then the joker expected me to feel bad for him because he got a bad tune.
I posted my thoughts about the person on our galaxy forums and promptly got banned.
Anyway, no more worries with kill stealing once the Nerf hits. You'll be begging for toons to group with you.

yea,the guys were lying about the pearls, the scythe quest krayts dont drop, but it seems the only way to prevent kill stealing is to get a bigger and better group

You would certainly expect that when theres so many Krayt dragons its hardly safe to even GO to northern Tatooine, kill-stealing would cease. It doesn't. People rarely, and never have, kill-stealed out of necessity. Its a griefing technique. It still happens constantly on my server. In fact there is usually a large group of people from certain guilds [who will remain nameless because I am too nice] out there grouped and actively looking for "occupied" Krayts to gank from people.

well they are full of it the scythe krayt is only worth killing for fun you can get the schmatic with out fighting and that dragon will drop neither pearls or scales.
