What are the benefits of CoB ? Can all attacks be used with CoB active or does it only allow certain attacks? And are there situations where it's wiser to NOT use COB ?

Answers on a postcard.

COB is a life saver in every single situation except where you are almost out of HAM and the use of it would kill you. COB will allow you to use every trick in your book, it will make your enemy see this constantly in his combat log

Exactly, COB should always be used the second you engae in a fight.

I use a simple macro that runs CoB followed by intimidate the second I go into combat.

There anything else I should stick in it you reckon ? Warcry maybe ?

PvP initiation:

/centerofbeing

/warcry1 (or warcry2 if you have it)
/warcry1

/intimidate
/intimidate

/melee2hmindhit1
/melee2hmindhit2

/melee2hheadhit3
.
.
.
.

You should throw in COB, warcry and intimidate every few rounds as well. Also, I find putting the person on follow is helpful

I have a macro that loops the CoB...

If my current CoB duration is 20 seconds

/centerOfBeing;
/pause 22;
/ui action toolbarSlot15;

I put this in the Shift-F4 slot (I think that is what 15 is), and the result, is basically I got CoB on for the duration of my fight. I don't know the costs of CoB, but from my limited experience, it is mostly based on Mind. Therefore, I don't run the macro unless I got some Brandy, or Canape in my belly. The pause I got is 22, because sometimes, if I set it to 20, I'd get a "You are already concentrating on defense" or whatever, and then right after, my CoB runs out.

When I'm done fightin', I'll use the /dump command to end the loop.

Drez,

I use the same technique, but instead of the /ui action toolbarSlot command, consider using a /Macro command. Your macro assumes that you are always on the same toolbar, or that you have your COB macro only the same button on every toolbar. Using the /Macro command will loop the macro no matter what toolbar is up and no matter what may be on that same button on another toolbar.

So, if you create your macro as above and name it COB, you would use:

/centerOfBeing;
/pause 22;
/macro COB

Of course, you will still need to use the /dump command to stop the looping.

(And Shift-F4 would be 15 as you surmized.)

I use CoB all the time in PvP. If i duel, that is the first thing I hit, usually followed by warcry2 then intimidate. Also I have found if you get warcry to land, use sweep and cause your target to kneel down. While frozen from warcry your target cant stand back up and you get the dmg bonus.

very cool...I didn't know about the /macro command, that's gonna make me think of alot of different things I got on my toolbar,

with the ability to remap macros to hot-keys, and the ability to loop a macro, I'm gonna have to think about how to set up my toolbar,

thanks again

You might want to try using areahit3 as if you're lucky that will dizzy them as well as forcing a posture down - practical upshot is they're kneeling and dizzy so as soon as they try to stand up they fall over.

Maybe

Ive used areahit3 sometimes in PvP, and can only remember seeing my target get knocked down once. I thought it was a fluke at the time. I dont PvP that much to start with, and I usually get taken out by the jawa using riflemen or mind poison before I get a chance to really lay into someone.
