Thread: FS melee speed WORKS!!

I just got the melee speed line in FS Combat Prowess tonight. I've noticed a considerable increase in speed since. I don't know the exact way it affects your speed, but I was hitting at the speed cap with my 2.7 spd scythe, and about every 1.9 seconds with my 5.3 spd powerhammer. I am a swordsman with only 75 speed, no additional mods except for FS.



and there was much rejoicing...

Were you using any specials?

Which specials? I would really like to find out exactly how this works on top of your natural speed.

I've used all my specials, works like a charm. As far as I can tell it's just adding in as if it were 2h speed.

how much jxp is it for each box?? I don't want to take a few weeks to get all 4 boxes lol

Believe the total is 1,275,000 Jedi XP for all 4 boxes. 50,000 for Novice.

I'll confirm this. It does work. I got two freebie trees from the village. Got the melee speed line and ranged defenses. I'm master brawler, master swordsman, and master fencer. With just master brawler and master swords my speed is at 80. Add the FS line wihich is +12 and I'm at +92 two handed speed. I believe the cap forus is +95. A considerable difference in speed with my PH which is 5.4 speed. Do yourself a favor and screw buying the speed tapes. GO FS!!

Yep, I tested this before publish 9 on the original TC2 using a lightsaber to verify it worked with a saber. Great news that it works with hammers too!!

The fact that it works with 2-hand weapons is just icing on the cake, and makes this even more a must have skill if you want to progress to Jedi, as +12 to saber speed is also a massive help!

actually from my testing this ability it bypasses the speed cap. Unless i am totally mistaken the speed cap is 1.0? Which is relatively easy to hit with certain weapons and specials. Well i happen to have a macro i use while grinding that looks the melee2hArea3 special with a 0.5 sec delay then it loops back and runs itself. The entire macro is as follows(aspin is the name of the macro):

/melee2hArea3;
/pause .5;
/m aspin;

Before i trained up enhanced melee speed this would loop the macro and completely stack up my combat queue with any weapon even VK when working on TK and changing the first line for that weapon. Now with my 3.3 speed Power hammer it no longer fills the combat queue.For skills i have master brawler/master swordsman with no other speed modifications so +80 2h speed.


Using Rem's guide for calculating weapon speed i first verified his speed calculation of my current weapon off of what the website said it should be. The website showed the 3.3 speed power hammer with a +80 speed should be 1.7 speed. I calculated it as 1.71. So good enough i then calculated with the +12 speed mod added to my personal speed modifier (P in the equation) and came up with 0.6864 as the total speed. This would be consistant with what i was noticing in the combat queue as it would slowly fill up after a long enough period of time but not when fighting something like a rancor


What this means is that if instead of a speed sliced power hammer i used a 5.1 speed power hammer with a good damage slice my attack speed would be (are you ready for this?)1.06. Insane i tell you LOL. Even if they fix it so that the speed is once again capped at 1.0 the power hammer just became GOD for damage output.
