You're right, a Naginata does more closly resemble a pike. I appologize for the imperfect referance. I was just trying to impress that the 2 hand curved sword is a big heavy blade that 'requires' both hands to wield. Really, when it boils down it, japanese history does not exist for a galaxy long ago and far away.

I stand by my view that you can not dual wield 2h blades whena singleblade requires both hands to use.

No, should be fencer.

A 2h sword is a huge blade that requires 2 hands to wield. That is what swordsman have skills for. That is what 2h sword means. They are big, heavy, and slow but hit very hard, thus all the medium armor piercing. You could not dual wield such blades unless you had 4 arms/hands.

For the Japanese referances, concider that it is called a "2 hand" curved sword. It requires 2h hands to wield, not optional, required. This is not a Katana, it is a Naginata.

1h sword means the blades only require 1h to use, this means you could theoretically use2 of them at once since each blade only requires 1 of your arms/hands. They are light and nimble blades, thus the near complete lack of armor piercing(only the vibro blade)and lower dmg rating of the fencer weapons.

Ok i would have to say no. You guys keep making reference to the katana that you guys use well if you all didnt notice there is a smaller version of this katana for one handed use only. So the katana argument is out of the window. Also if you guys didnt notice your title is not swordmen its heavy swordsmen and master heavy swordsmen. At one-handed 4 you get the title of appritance swordsmen. Also i happen to know that no samuri keeps one sword most samuri have a shrine per say that has three swords one heavy katana and two smaller katanas. And to the Soul Calibur guy he never wields his sword with one hand lol.

But I think as melee we are intitaled to more damage than ranged. I think bigger weapons must be made for heavy swordmen like a steel paddle.

If Heavy Swordsmen were able to duel wield then whats to stop pikeman from Duel wielding

Let pistoleers and fencers dual wield: swordsmen and pikemen should tri-wield. Nothing would be scarier then arodian coming at youswingingtwopowerhammers and a 2-handed curved sword all at the same time! Master Swordsmen should have the option to quad-wield, but only with heavy penalties. While we are at it, we should be able to ride two mounts at the same time by standing up with a footon each one. What fear can we strike into the hearts of others as we are balanced between 2 Carrion Spats, holdinga power hammer in each hand and one under each arm? You can't get much scarier then that, now can you? Well maybe using five powerhammers, but that might be unbalancing, but it would look cool!

Seriously, you should unsticky this post. Not only is the idea of using two two-handed weapons at the same time ill-thought out, but it would be incredibly overpowering. If the developers even considered the idea for more then a second, then it would bea sure sign that they don't have any clue about game balance or a sense of realism. They may be bad, but even a 7 year old figured out that this is something done in cartoons, not in real life: I am sure the developers understand more then a 7 year old.

Dude are some of you retarded your weapons weigh hundreds of poundsits just not physically possible to do it the wieght alone from your weapons would tear off your arms. If heavy swordsman got duel wield then only wookies should be able to do it seeing how they have the body to stand it (mabey even the lizards). Humans, zabrak, dogs, fish, and rodians do not have the physical capasity to hold weaponsof that size in one hand while fighting.

Personally i think it should be a wookie only thing seeing how they can not wear armor.

And for those who keep referring to the katana we use its over half the size of a wookie its way to big to be wielded effectivly in one hand without tearing off your arm or cutting yourself.

Yes, but I think the tide is trying to shift this to the Fencers. I still think we are the 2-handed swordsmen. Now that doesn't mean we should be able to run around with 2 2-handed swords slinging. They will probably have to let us wield 1-hand swords in each hand (before you flame me for this.....that would still make us 2-handed swordsmen!). Just my take on it!

Yes.

Swordsman (2H) not Fencer (1H).

Swordsman apparently has the skill for 2 handed weaponry... so give 2.

Fencing skills are specific to one weapon in one hand.

I agree this would compliment a fun class. Just wish the HAM cost on specials could be reduced. I do more dmg to myself than most mobs do.

Just the nature of the class says that this is an impossible request. How can one hand hold a two handed weapon? Last I checked it can't. While I think the idea is cool. I think it's in the wrong profession. I think the devs will agree with this as well. So my answer is a big ol' NO.

I would only like to say why dont some of you guys that said yes go and try and swing around a 500 pound power hammer after you do that try to pick up a second one like i said befor this is a fencer ability. Some of you people say no because fencers learn to wield one sword in one hand well duh that whys its common for fencers to duel wield because you dont have to learn anything new to put the sword in the other hand. Heavy swordmans were taught to wield one weapon in two hands. You guys would have to learn a whole new technique to wield a sword in one hand.Plus no human alive can do this your swords weigh to much. If anything i think this should be a wookie only abilty to offset their weakness of no armor.

Heh I think it would be very cool to walk around with a power hammer in each hand.. but our class uses 2HANDED melee weapons. Unless we get some new 4 armed species in SWG usingtwo 2HANDED weapons dosn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

No because HEAVYswords require two hands. Duel weilding is more appropriate for Fencers.
