I agree with Soln. We need some kind of skill that will let us increase damage or attack speed for a limited amount of time with a small penalty. TKAs get those meditative skills that boost their stats and can raise themselves from incap. No other class has those skills. With the last few patches, TKAs got babied like crazy. Increasing damage at novice by +30? They did enough damage as it was, not to mention now that the dizzy+kd combo is active, we can compare any other melee class vs. TKA would be like slamming acrotch rocket into a brick wall. They slaughter everything with that combo and nobody has anything to compensate for it but another TKAwiththeir combat equilibrium, which doesn't even work most of the time against another TKA. I'm against raising the nerf bat to anybody, but I think we need to go Rodney King on the TKA. I think it is a great profession, but Jesus, it's too strong. I'm more concerned about TKAs than AT-STs. I think the AT's were fine, but TKA is out of hand.


IMHO Pikeman, Droid Engineer, and Chef need more attention than any otherprofessions at the moment. Pikeman especially, they have it rougher than any of us, and they take a lot of pride in their profession.


For us on the other hand, I totally agree with everyone with the skill changes and weapon changes. WeREALLY need more swords. We already have a long katana and I love it, but I think we need a huge broad swordthat has a mean look to it, as well as a new Axe. We are called heavy swordsman after all, the bigger the sword, the better.All of the other melee professions need an extended arsenal as well.However, I disagree with the adding different damage types to our melee weapons. Yes, electricity sounds nice, but ACID or HEAT? Someone explain how these would be possible. Acid would eat right through the metal blades, heat and cold would have to be induced to the weapon, and even that wouldn't last long, and the only way that I can think of to use energy would to use a laser sword, but that would be like giving a lightsaber to an autistic child. It just isn't right.


Why can't we defend ourselves with our swords? How many sword fights have you seen where every swing of the sword is either hit or miss? They need to just get rid of the counterattack "defense" mod and replace it with block. That would be more logical. As for counterattack, I would put that on all of the melee professions, just with a lower modifier,becausein a fighting instinct, when you block an attack, you counter back.


Also, since we are a melee profession, we should get a good boost to our melee defense, not necessarily just our ranged. I think ranged is fine as it is. Also, most melee professions involve alot of spinning as I've seen in the animations. Don't you think that with that kind of training to dothose movesthat they would learn to control their balance better? Most melee classes should get some really good +dizzy defense.


Well that's my 2 cents for now. Way to go Gorecki, you're doing great with this. Thunderheart's new plan helps us players out a lot better than before. Hopefully things can get straightened out before the expansion.

Disagree mostly.


1)The variety of specials seems only a problem in that the Sweep series seems to duplicate the Area series. But the Area series gives posture change, dizzy and damage in an AREA in one go instead of separate attacks... this does not seem like a lack of variety as much as a consolidation of cool specials. I just hope the BHs never get KnockdownCone2 with their LLC!


2)HAM costs are not too big. Drink some Tatooine Sunburn, shoot up some Neutron Pixie orget a buff from a Doctor ya lazy bums! Yeah, I'm hurtin' when I run low on the stuff but balancing my resources and powerups etc. is part of the game.


3)Range, and 4) PVP for that matter. Should be able to /follow something I am attacking, just like I can /follow a group member? How it is that a person shooting a gun (rifle even) can run and shoot back at me not looking where he is going and I have to spend so much time trying to track which direction he is zig-zagging that I have trouble timing a Special to trigger when he is in range? Maybe it will be buggy andmay just work so-so, in PvP people will drag you against rocks and trees and houses to try to get you snagged, but that could be part of the tactics. One of the reasons they hide in rock fields and trees when they shoot at us. But it is a thought... maybe it would make us over-powered. Especially if things like threaten-shot and conceal shot do not work in PvP. Maybe they could be made to somehow, Threaten shot could be like Fear in EQ (for those familiar) with a dubious chance of success (based on Focus or something like that)... now I'm rambling... you get the idea.


5)Defenses? Bah, just nerf the creatures to make me a bit more valuable than a big tick. It is ridiculous that we were sending a level 13 Rock Beetle against a level 65 creature and it did not just swallow it in one bite. I wasgetting chopped to bits in a few hits.


6)Scythe and 7)Weapons would be cool. But this is just the additional content that I expect them to be adding as the game matures. Quests to get weapons, weapon components and schematicsis afun way to add content to the game.


Now (sigh) if we are just trying to keep the whinelevel high in order that we don't get out-whined by the other classes (and then stealth-nerfed through a lack of enhancements)then I guess ignore this post. I'm new to these Forums and how they are used by the developers. My guess is they are mostly ignored except the CHs Generally I am very HAPPY with being a Swordman and if I have to move on to something else because I want to be a good PvPer then I may do that one day. Remember the Swordsman that attacked Indiana Jones?Indiana Jonesjust pulled a pistol and shot him.

The Defence is all we really need. I can do plenty of damage pvp. It would almost be unfair to others if could do more. The power hammer will take people out 1-3 shots. Combinded with the damage and speed of the 2hc, and mind bleed very deadly. They say out of range while moving is being fixed, when that happens things wil be a lot better. TKA i find are near impossible for me to kill one on one. Imma master doc even buffed its over in a couple hits. Defence would solve that give time to work a little stratagy in. If tka lost some of their Supreme goody bag it might now even be necescary. I have been able to kill a master of every profession. I dont think we are hurting too bad.


Last, i dont even care if i can attack witha scythe, i just wanna walk around looking cool with one if nothing else

Just a thought from a Blademaster, I have look thru your skill trees, and i find that you guys does lack of defenses, BUT, your 2nd defense is counter-attack!! Here is what I am thinking according to the mechanics from the game.


for your opponent to hit you, he has to get pass your primary defenses ie. range and melee defense.


If he does pass thru that, then your 2nd defense comes into play ie. counter-attack.


counter-attack as i read it as reflecting the same damage to your opponent. So I am thinking you guys should actually love lower primary defense and higher in counter-attack.


With CoB, your counter-attack is even more effective, hence making you guys more powerful.

for one, when we counterattack, it just normally says u shrug it off and counterattack, but after that u don't see "you counterattack and hit *name* for some much damage etc. it is onlyreally a defense not an offense thing, and secondly not only are our primary defenses absolutely pants...they might as well be non-existant i might the hell....we're master heavy swordsman, well when u are like me then u still only have 20 bloody melee defense out of the whole tree.........**edit** is up with that, the last time i checked we were MELEE users, and our ranged fense is even worse i think it's 15 or 17 from the whole profession......PANTS!

I know our melee defense has been a problem personaly i dont care as long as do massive damage, which we do. The new patch with damage migration now really make swordman (and possibly pikeman) a joke in PvP. Given that damage migration 3 will force our power hammer to hit near it's bottom damage rate. At current rate we do slower swing yet weaker damage than TKA in PvP. This is the main problem for us now i think. Oh yes and the whole pistoleer having a lot more melee defense than we do is stupid!


There are some other issues and i think we have been told that it is being looked into, the question of when and what will turn out is the question

IAgreed, i think that´s a great job.
Why we have 3 special attack make the same thing ?.

1. Two-Hand Sweep 2

2. Two-Hand Area Attack 3

3. Two-Hand Spin Attack 2

Why we can´t blind a oponent?.

Why can´t slice a head ?

Why only Mind bleeds ? a sword can slice a arm and make health bleed or not ?

dizzy is total unefficient and normal it not work.

I want a sword with poison, electry or some thing.

2h curved sword, Power Hammer, 2h cleaver that´s all, why not a 2h vibro-curved sword or vibro-cleaver.

What make the rancor teeth?

the way to be swordman is to hard for this small compensation.


I think the dev are TK or comando.

Krayt tissue boost the stats of a blaster power handler. Rancor teeth replace a sword core. So if u use a tooth the sword ends up with more ham cost,slower speed, and in most cases less damage. So if anybody wants to pay big $$$ for a suicide sword let me know. lol Sword core needs an optional box for the Rancor teeth of the stats on them need a big boost. Otherwise no good enhanced swords. Yell at SWG about that one.

Just to mention this, on Test Center now there are schematics for Geonisian Sword Cores and Reinforced Cores. These use Geonisian Power Cubes (that can have bonuses to different stats) and also have a slot for sword enhancers.

The Geonisian Sword Cores are required for making Scythe Blades, but actually they can be used in any sword. We have yet to find any enhancements that go into these schematics and actually boost stats, but hopefully those will be found in time. Right now the best cores seem a little worse than existing cores but there is still plenty of room for improvement.

Anyway, hopefully this is a venue for increased options in powering up Swordsmen weaponry.

I've tried to push this issue as brawler correspondent as really there aren't very good enhancements for any of the brawler professions. Some professions can actually use vibro motors but even these aren't that great and don't stack up to krayt equipment at any level.

Also, one core that I made was "better" than old cores in one respect: it had very low HAM values. I was able to make a core with 0 HAM cost but with only 34-34 damage and -.45 speed or so. I think if used in a Power Hammer this would yield a weapon with about 6-8 lower average damage, .1-.2s slower speed, but significantly lower HAM usage.

I agree with everything that was said....especially about our weapons. i started off as swordsman expecting to use swords, what the hell? a powerhammer is the best weapon. they might as well call us hammerman instead of swordsman. i think they(the deseigners) need to focus on swordsman for a change instead of givein other professions updates. In conclusion a master swordsman should have a sword.
