Just like to point out also that in base raids, swordsmen are priceless for turret destruction. Nothing says byebye turret like a 900 max powerhammer with hit3 once per second

Thanks for this. I am only just now going swords and wasn't too sure how pvp was going to work. This should help.

Also aboytPvP against combat medici think is good combin swordman+doctor.. u can heal your poison

That part is indeed true, however then tend to just spam it as fast as you can heal so to go on offense you still gotta eat some, in the end you still gotta kill them before they kill you lol. sad fact, but ah well the folks in CM forum generaly say they not powerful cos they spend loads on points. whatever

Oh yes swordman is PvE king for for base raid they are on thier own league specialy with the vun to blast damage lol woohoo bye bye player at st

Anyways i been busy with rl work but i got a day off tomorow so i will update the guide to cover the AP issues and more detail weapon use.

With a +19 2-handed speed shirt and a 929 max dmg power hammer, using a Scythe feels like a waste of DPS in PvP.

If you can (maybe FS quests is a start), get speed capped, thencamp ackleyto loot ackley bones,or farm missions for money to buy ackley bones, to get some High DmgHammers. (actually getting a normal hammer with a 30%+ dmg slice and a dmg powerup, will give you something like 700+ max dmg PH).I spent a week or two killing ackley perhaps three times a day and I finally got some 200 dmg + ackley bones, made 4 hammers, got speed slices on all but one, on which I got a 30% dmg slice, add a power up and its 929 dmg, which is good enough. Add some citros, and you hit enough too. If you can, find a way (or bring a friend) to stun enemies as this makes it alot easier to hit em. As Dizzy/Kd is king, having fencer or TKA to Dizzy/kd is really helpful .

If you can get a mind dot on one of the weapons you use, (I have a janta knife which is good enough, and I use this to dizzy/kd enemies), and use mindbleed attack, then that along with spamming mindhit once they are down should take out their mind pretty good.

And of course, get yourself some stun special protection composite, with 85%+ base to all. Buy a crate of PSGs and get em sliced, keep the ones with eff. slices and use these for PvP as it gives a large advantage. Synthsteak is useless as it is bugged 99% of the time. Citros for accurracy and then brandy of course.

Then you are ready to go. To get all the things I have mentioned costs alot, (My total gear cost is like 20 millions or something (the +19 speed shirt being 13 millions of that, but speed can be reached more easily through FS quests and having a few low end speed attachments), but money isnt that hard to get, spend a few days jsut grinding rancor solo group missions and youll have enough. Remeber that without the xx%stun/85+% to all armour, PvP is pointless.

Sry if the post is confusing, but thats my PvP thoughts for now.

try using that hammer against a tkm with capped melee defense, 100+ dizzy defense, 90% armor, and on pikatta pie. buh bye. (if hes smart hell keep u all stated up anyways, and that means blind lol. if you can heal it whoopty do, a good one will still keep u blinded)

same goes with most huge temploiters. u aint gonna damage em. i strongly recomend the scythe for pvp against any and all melee enemies.

well i'll address some the issues then

1) this is a general guide targeting as many people as possible that means it is impossible for a guide to go through every possible combination for swordman nor do everyone has speed tapes or FS bonus. So it is unreasonable to say you can do such and such if you have such and such. It doesnt help those who dont not have or want to have. It is swordman guide not a mix bag guide

2)Power hammer vs Scythe issue this clearly goes under knowing you enermy as i covered before. Power hammer should only be use if A) up against a range fighter with no melee mitigation or B) you have a high Min damage Acklay power hammer. Saying that using the scythe instead of a power hammer (nothing else added i can assume it is ordinary one) that is is waste of damage per secound is rediculas. if it was against a ranger fighter with no melee mitigation yes it would be but against those who do have melee mitigation it is far from the truth

reason being A) the scythe usualy min damage 180+ whiles Power hammer is 120+ (base on normal designed stats please dont point out your WS with FS bonus and tapes and great resources can make better) even without damage slice the Min damage is huge, with melee mitigation 3 you will hit mostly your lower end damage range.

Food: again i also cover this, i advise that you shouldnt use up your stomach filling unless you need too, that can be your life line, the emergency button, use it when you got other option first is a dangerious and foolish game. Never play your last card unless you need to. that my personal advise anyway, in the end everyone plays thier own way.

Excellent guide Noc-turnal.

I've ben dabbling a bit in swordsman myself with a secondary char and was amazed how efficient it is. I'm not a true PvP'er as I'm a nutty crafter as well but still, I'd like to hold my own in a fight, be it PvP or PvE and was wondering wether fencer (which I haven't tried yet) or swordsman would be the better choice. This guide made medo a 180 from my intialchoice of fencer and go back to my beloved swordsman. Seems all I needed was a few pointers of how to utilize my sword skills to avoid being subjected to genuine fencer-PvP-prison love.

Thanks again for the pointers. Is just awesome!

...and remember, once you've used a high dmg 1.7 spd curved sword, you'll never go back (PvE)...

its slow. if your fighting a dot whoreand you cant get away and you know your gonna die, wth, go ahead and stick it to them.

best bet is just to stack them.

also, for those pesky combat medics that clone/gtef your group over and over, incap them with your gammorean axes. they get up, incap them again with the axes. so on so forth until triple incap. usually after 2 or 3 of those triple incap via gamm axes their mind is done for.

my swordsman template is

Master Sworsdman

Combat Medic 4/4/0/4 I can snipe with my mind poisons from 40m out and they do 589-630 max dmg per tick for 300 seconds i can also apply mind disease at 40m out and they do 233-267 max dmg per tick for 800 seconds after that i close the gap and i burtst run in with my high dmg sliced power hammer and

A) Area attack 3

B) Head Hit 3

C) Just apply Death Blows seeing as how the cm side of my template has incapped 4 people already

very effective template vs stackers, even with the resistance buffs. fight a doc/swordsman and your goin down though. theyll laugh at your dots, get up to you, state the hell outta you, dizzy/kd you, and then your gone.

btw you can use area 3, but i suggest applying dizzy with hit 3 and then using lunge 1 or 2 (depending on your enemy) to get the dizzy/kd.

nice, i was also having problems as a mswords/mdoc, but then i became fs and maxed melee speed, i then got 2x4 2 hand speed tapes, which put me at 95 speed, i went from thinking scythes are my main weapon to thinking they are junk. i now have the skills to use the almighty power hammer, sliced for "i ll never tell" well over 620 damage. i execute peopl now. its a really nice change. that is what it takes to be a uber swordsman. i was thinking of given up swords"shame on me" until this really nice new speed fell into place. now i wont ever. poison spice
