Anyways, Why is the animation for a power hammer the same for a sword? Woot, I poke people with my hammer... so realistic. We should suggest art team does somethign about that. i mean, our animations suck, when in our description were considered spinning balls of whirling death, and fencer are dancers, who just sping faster.. and whirl faster..

some way to SHEATH your weapon!! i have been complaining about this since the early days of beta! i feel like i a fool running around with an axe or a giant sword in my hand, just tossing that thing around like there is no tomorrow. honestly, you could put someones eye out with that thing!! ALL the concept art for the game shows characters with weapons holstered in very cool scabbards and sheaths and whatnot, so why do they not exist in the game?


this isnt a swordsman issue so much as a whole game issue, but swordsman with weapons in their hands look by far the most ridiculous. cant we just sling them on our backs when not in combat? please! can i get a witness?!?!

put them on the hotbar, then click on them....



Lightning blades sound cool to me, how about a Gun Blade? lasergun/sword

How about just some new starwarsish swords? We've seen plenty of requests for old style earth weapons like the Flamberge's of germany, but why not have them updated for SWG? The cleaver looks rather futuristic, and looks great. Perhaps just take some of those old swords, and add in new hilts, add some gears or extra metalic parts that look like attachments of technology.

Jedi use lightsabers. Swordsman aren't Jedi even if Jedi are swordsman. Just because Han Solo can cut open an animal with a lightsaber doesn't mean he could weild it in combat. It requires the force to be able to use a lightsaber without sustaining personal injury because the blade has no weight. I'm sure for other reasons but ya. And if that isn't convincing enough then how about this. The devs won't give swordsman lightsabers. That's probably the only reason you need.

i think a weapon for swordman possition should be a Really long sword this way we would have a chance against ranged i mean if they can get a melea attack why can't we get akkinda ranged attack. and when i mean long sword i mean long sword like that has a max range of like 10 and min range of like 3 i think it would be really cool would be slow and not as accurate but still would be cool.



i also would like to see a sword that has damage other then blast and kinetic

I'd probably quit the game if they gave us lightsabers. I won't say that I don't want one. But it would take 90% of the fun out of comming accross a jedi.



As for new weapon ideas...
I like the idea of the Dai-Katana ... Sephiroth was a pimp.
Just as well i like the idea of a dual-bladed curved sword.


My Ideas:
Something simple, like a hand and a half, "**edit**" sword... like the one Aragorn used in LotR.
Claymore
Flamberge
Any standard huge ass EQ sword

I do think there should be multiple Master H.Swordsmen certifications. Some for fun, some for battle.


Like the flaming sword... who wouldn't want to swing one around?

No-Dachi (what I believe our 2-handed curve sword is supposed to be but a No-dachi is 6ft or longer, scaled to its owner's size which was only around 5ft tall back in the feudal japan era. Thus a Wookie's No-Dachi with the tallest wookie would be over 10ft long)


Large 2-handed Cleaver (I like the look of the cleaver alot but it needs to just be BIGGER)


2-handed Vibro Sword


Maul (low tech version of the powerhammer but larger)


Some large Single Edged straight bladed sword (think FF7)


Some sort of Laser Sword (like a light saber but not a light saber per-se but does energy damage like Blasters)


Large Flails


Large Vibro Axe (ours is way too dinky)


Also, what we need to encourage is larger variations on stats: AR0 swords that are like400-700dmg (i.e. less powerful than a powerhammer vs. an armored target but more powerful vs. an unarmored target); AR4 weapons that are more designed for hunting big monsters vs. armored or unarmored players; Longer Ranged weapons that are good till 10m away and are subject to the degrees of range (i.e. larger penalty at closer range, little penalty at long range. Hence the weighted chain); and something that is balanced with around a 3sec speed, decent damage Light Armor Piercing and no attack penalty (thus, not superb in any one aspect compared to any of the other high teir weapons).


No real point in just changing the weapon skins if they don't give us more weapons.
