Thread: 3 questions to the community

Q1 - The loss of the amount of special moves/attacks, especially area attacks. Between all my certs i went from about 50 moves down to maybe 10 if i'm lucky


Q2 - Nothing


Q3 - More variety of armor. Depending on the day and my mood,I would wear anything from bone, to chitin, mabari, ubese, composite.





- I support the proper use of common sense when it comes to re-developing games which are nearly two years into their tenure...evidently this sentiment is not shared by those that finance this game.

Q1. Largest concern: We don't have a choice in so far as our weapon at master lvl. My Scythe barely does more DPS than my Power Hammer, but it's speed sliced and my Hammer isn't sliced at all. I'm sure my Hammer would do more if I got it sliced. We're SWORDSman and we don't have a viable 2 handed SWORD that does damage on par with the Power Hammer. I used a Sith Sword on TC with my template and it didn't have the DPS that the Power Hammer did either. Would it be so bad to adjust the Sith Sword and/or the Scythe to do equal damage to the Power Hammer.


Q2. Like best : I liked best that I outdamaged a novice Jedi consecutively by 100 damage each hit while grinding. This shouldn't happen though. The end should justify the means, and you can bet that I'd be pissed if I did all that grinding and questing just to be outdamaged by a profession that doesn't have to jump through half those hoops. Needless to say I didn't say anything. I hope that is being looked into.


Q3. My 1 change: The one change I would make would effect all combat professions. I would make your Combat lvl have a greater effect on the DPS of your weapon. That way each and every weapon really would be viable at all lvls.


But I'll settle for a 2 handed sword that does damage equal to the Power Hammer.

Q1: Our damage output is way too low! Until today I have used MSwords but now I respected to Mpike. I was shocked that the DPS I did with Pikeman was just a tad (20 or so) lower than with my Powerhammer! My hammer had about 300 base and the Vibrolance as well adding up to about the same modified DPS.
We are supposed to be the highdamage profession right? Then why the heck are all the quest-reward-weapons on kahyyyk non-swordsman (except for the acid blade) and why one earth do half of them outdamage my powerhammer or my acid sword? A carbine with 323 base DPS? For the love of god! Plus that is RANGED too!!! The acid swords just has 314 if you didn't know. Right now the reward weapons are the best weapons in the game apart from a very few rare uber crafted ones. But since everyone doing the missions can get them our damage output is just average compared to the other professions.

Q2: At least headhit is the highest dealing skill in the melee profs (but anyone can get that one extra tree right?)

Q3: Convert our weapons to do a LOT more damage compared to all other professions and give them a master cert. Doing the same amount of damage as a Rifleman is not enough since we have the extreme disadvantage of being melee. In PvP we have to be able to do more damage once we succeed (if you do at all with root) to actually get into combat range since we take a hell of a beating until we get there.

Q3: If you could make one change to swordsman what would it be?

1.) Lack of DPS, we just don't hit hard enough, we're suppose to be the kings of melee damage. We maybe better than TKA's but that's a different issue. At the moment Pikeman hit almost as hard as we do and fencers seem to be hitting harder????


2.) The look of the new weapons, shame they aren't as good as any of the other melee class weapons


3.) More weapon choice, at the moment virtually every Master Swordsman use a power hammer.

1. lack of craftable weapons for higher lvl players and for mid lvl players working towards master currently its vibro axe until you can get a master swords man all other weapons are quest weapons no craftable weapons for those grinding up to master.especialy seeing that alot of the looted quested weapons are better then what we can get also . taunt doesnt work.


2. I like some of the specials .


3.Make all the weapons that were ADVERTISED as comeing out with the CU ( not rotw quests craftable by weapon smiths.

1.Flurry in the Master Box, such a useless skill and for it too be in our Master Box makes it worse. Give me something goodat Master. Also Adv ArmorBreak, but hopefully that is getting fixed soon.


2. We are still the best Melee damage dealer.


3. Give me something else tooswing besidesmy stick with a rock on it. Fencergets a 1050 max weapon from quests why cant we have a 1150 -1200 sword from quests?

A1: Center of Being needs to activate while moving. This applies to all melee professions.

Q2: What do you like best so far about the CU as it applies to swordsman?


A2: Useful specials! I love the way all our specials seem to mesh together so well and still do meaningful damage, unlike many other professions I've tried.

Q3: If you could make one change to swordsman what would it be?


A3: We need more alternatives to the Power Hammer! There are currently some awesome loot swords, however none that do damage even remotely comparable to my power hammer. When I hear "Swordsman" I don't think of someone who's swinging around a giant hammer. We need some large, 2 handed swords that do damage equal to or greater than the hammer. I'm tired of swinging that thing around. More craftable swords would be nice for both Swordsman & Weaponsmith...

1 - Lack of weapon variety. Get a uber hammer, slice, ADK, you never need to shop again. I would like to see the hammer as our mega dmg high SAC wpn, and a master lvl sword as our low SAC wpn. Again, it seems that SOE catered to the melee minority w/ this expansion. Remember when they released those prof stats and pikemen were like the lowest mastered combat prof? Nowthey get like a half dozen new pikes in this expansion. Was it their goal to drag people out of 2hand and into the other prof?


2 - I love the redone specials.Yeah, we have no AOE, but I love being able to KD, armor brk, then crit hit. Those three alone destroy most NPCs.


3 - We are supposed to be the definitive close rng DPS prof, right? Give us a truly unique ability like adv berserk that REALLY makes us berserk. The term berserk implies more than a little extra damage - we should be out of control high DPS w/ no concern for our own defense.

Step down from pre CU status in playablity and fun factor, so I can't give this an answer since there is no best in bad.

No KD move in the swordsman tree ... I politely request advanced lunge to be reinstated as a knockdown (i hate the fact of having to pick up another prof for a good KD)

Advanced Armorbreak, Advanced critical...

Biggest Concern is the weapons they have dropped way below the fencer weapons . I like the special attacks power attack does some serious damage but apart from that Swordsmans dropped quality. I think they need to reconsider the Power Hammer damage and perhaps up the damage on some of the quest items for Swordsman.
