FtB. I've played with the accuacy of PH's and was able to get one at +4+2+4 ~310max dmg and 4.5 spd (speed slice). It is possible to get the accuracy into the possitives, BUT at a huge cost to dmg and speed.

Exactly, we shouldn't have to sacrifice damage and speed to have a weapon similar to a flipping republic blaster, bah.

Nice looking weapon!

Ran somenumbers on it...this represents a75% increase to our damage per second. It'snot quite the doubling ofDPS I have been saying we need, but it's a pretty good upgrade

With a perfect damage slice, here's how we would comparein damage dealing ability to a TK artist with a 175 damage vibro knuckler (this is my yardstick for damage comparisons)against different armor levels:

Against AR0 (none)

  • TK 3415 DPS

  • Swordsman 2814 DPS

  • MB + Swordsman 3342 DPS

Against AR1 (Light)

  • TK 2732 DPS

  • Swordsman 2251 DPS

  • MB + Swordsman 2674 DPS

Against AR2 (Medium)

  • TK 1366 DPS

  • Swordsman 1801 DPS

  • MB + Swordsman 2139 DPS

Against AR3 (Heavy)

  • TK 514 DPS

  • Swordsman 900 DPS

  • MB + Swordsman 1069 DPS

As you can see, a scythe equipped Swordsmanis clearlysuperior to the TK artist in damaging medium and heavy armor targets.

A Swordsman who also has Master Brawler will basically equal the damage output of TK against AR0 and 1, and far exceed it againstmedium and heavy.

With a250 damage knuckler (I know they're out there) theycould post 1951 damage per secondvs. medium armor.Thiswould be a loot enhanced weapon, and I bet the scythe will alsohave the potential to be loot enhanced in a similar way.

Against heavy armor? Not even close -Swordsman wins, by far.

Long story short, this is a huge upgrade for us... thank you, devs

One other thing:the reason this weapon is so fast,is becauseSwordsman only gets +75 melee speed, while Fencer gets +90. If you want medium armor piercing...sorry. It takes two hands to do that!

those are nice numbers raider........but sadly they don't represent reality.

you need to factor in the fact that we miss 30 percent of the time if not more.

so yah......it's not that much damage at all.

accuracy is king - not damage - you can have a powerhammer with 3000 max damage and it doesnt mean a **edit** thing if you can't hit with it.

You must be bugged somehow if you're missing that much. And yes, I can see things about the scythe that I don't like, especiallythe vicious mind cost. Overall though,I'mpleased with its potential damage output.

what i want to know is - why would they give it a high mind cost when all our weapons are centered on strength.

thats like giving a rifleman a weapon with 85 health ham cost.

off-topic <looks both ways for a mod before stealth posting>

LOL as a rifleman... we would take with a 85 health cost!!!! at least health is easy buffed! and healed!

Nice, Nice, I am very pleased with this new weapon. I think with a bit of stat migration, and fishak (although with chefs changing, who knows...) this could become my weapon of choice. Plus it looks awesome.

hmm

not bugged at all.

do you PVP much?

master swordsman with master brawler has a 135 accuracy

with this weapon they would have a 120 or 104 accuracy

that isn't very good today when riflemen /fencer have insane melee defense like 200 i believe.

most TK/Fencers/Pistoleer and most people who PVP have builds that give amazing melee defense at least in the 140s or 150s- this is a negative mod to all accuracy! incase you didn't know.

with a 120 accuracy you won't be hitting them very often.

this maybe ok in PVE (thought you should pay more attention to the -miss- floating up over targets) but in PVP it's a huge factor.

fishak and ryshcate are gone my friend.

its actualy 20 more totally ham than a power hammer

114+25+35 = 174

scythe

42 + 83 + 68 = 193

that's horrible for the damage output

considering a cleaver can have 143-295, -8 accuracy, and 48+45+28 =121 ham cost.

maybe some of you don't know how to weigh advantages and disadvantages but i don't see whats so great about this weapon.

yes it has a nice speed but you can cap easy with a cleaver, two hand axe or 2 hand curved and not kill yourself swinging it.
