FYI it works fantastically. For all of you who still have any doubts. And just for kicks, here are some numbers to help people out who are too lazy to look up things for themselves.
With master brawler your speed mod will be +92 which means........
You will be speedcapped for HeadHit3 with a weapon speed of 5.2 or less.
You will be speedcapped for AreaAttack3 with a weapon speed of 5.0 or less
You will be speedcapped for 2hHit3 with a weapon speed of 4.0 or less.
FYI HeadHit 3 is really the important one.
For those of you without master brawler: (5 less speed)
You will be speedcapped for HeadHit3 with a weapon speed of 3.2 or less.
and just for kicks lets run a scenario, so you guys who haven't been to http://killyourpc.org/swgcan see how this works out.
Billy didn't feel like picking up master brawler, because he was gonna buy some speedtapes, but doesn't have millions of dollars so he's kinda screwed. Billy has a powerhammer that has been sliced for damage, because he likes big numbers (ohh... lets say 165-570@ 5.4). Using HeadHit3 every3.4 seconds (+75 speed) Billy doess 571.7 pts of damager per second (average).
Jane is a little smarter than Billy (but she also can't afford expensive tapes) she picks up master brawler (+80 speed total) and gets a speed sliced powerhammer (lets say 145-465 @ 4.2 seconds, a modest slice) she's doing HeadHit 3 every 2.0 seconds for 781.1 damager per second. Oooh, thats a noticeable difference! Can I kill kryats now? No, No you can't. Lets continue.
Billy ran into some cash, and decided since jane was kicking his butt, he needed a faster weapon like Jane. So he buys a scythe.
He gets itdamage sliced, and it ends up like (220-400 @ 2.6 seconds) putting out about 1001.5 pts damage per second. Almost double what he had before. (which is why, if you have no tapes, and no FS skills, a scythe is perfect for you.)
While Billy was screwing around, Jane went and got herself into the Jedi village and picks up the +12 speed after a long difficult grind.
Billy also decided to give jane his old weapon because "it sucks" he says, and it's all about the scythe. Now Jane using the original powerhammer Billy had hits with HeadHit3 every 1.1 seconds for 1786.5 pts of damage per second.
Anywho, Billy could get all ticket off and buy a big ol Acklay hammer damagesliced for like 250-700 @ 6.0 ( don't knowany average stats off the top of my head, but thats close.) even then he would only hit for 665 pts of damage per second.
Conclusion? More weapon speed is a good thing. Get all you can. 92 is good, but not great. you're still gonna wanna buy a +2 or +3 attachment. That will let you swing a Big ol Aklay hammer around like it's nothing. 94-95 is where you wanna be.
just for kicks with 95 speed on Billys hammer you'd be doing 2493.8 damage per second. about 5x the damage we started with. Imagine if you have an unsliced powerhammer. even at master swordsman, with no master brawler, with an unsliced powerhammer, made with the finest of ingredients, you won't break 500 damage per second.
That is why one master swordsman can solo something outrageously huge, and you can't. Thems the facts jack.

+105 w/o the FS speed tree... so i'm overcapped and didn't have to spend any skillpoints on it.
If you're a pure PvEr, go for it. It's a good tree to have. If you're a PvPer, well you'd be better off buying the speed tapes and using every skill point you have for a template.
It takes 4 Skill points for the FS speed. I don't understand why this would interfere with a template, I am Master Sword, Master Fencer, Master Brawler, Combat Prowess Master and Novice Medic /shrug.
because the best temps use every single one of your points for defense or other skills... if you dropped combat prowess master you could do TKM 4-0-0-3 and become def capped and have meditate/powerboost/Force of Will... great skills to have for a non-doc in PvP.
I use every single point i have... mostly because the only thing i can drop is the med use tree in doc, and since i love my 80 med use AOE poison/disease cureBs thats not very feasable for someone who PvPs as much as i do.

First hand experience.... two master swordsmen (me being one of them, guildmate as another). Hunting elders last night. I have Master swordsman, do not have master brawler. I also have a plus 5 two hand speed attachment. My guildmate has the melee speed from pub 10. He hits two times to my one with identical speed PH's.
At the very least, the force skills are amazing, compared to speed tapes.

Actually it's more like 18,375,000 Weapons XP which brings 1,837,500 combat XP with it and all of that together will equal 1,225,000 FS combat XP.

Can someone help me with the information how many extra speed from SEA's I'd need to be speedcapped as master swordsman and just three boxes of the meleespeed line in combat prowess?
Keeping novice medic and master ranger (yes I know it's a waste of skillpoints, however I don't feel like parting with it
) together with master swords leaves me with 3 free skillpoints that I can put there
.

This DPS calculator is ofc known to me, however the enhanced melee speed from combat prowess does not just simply add to the 2h speedmod and the calc does not offer an option to take fs melee speed into account. Core problem for me is that I until now didn't find a source for a formula that matches my experiences that I made ingame

I'm not exactly sure how the FS melee speed is handled. Don't think there's been any indication if it's just added onto your current melee speed or if there are different calculations for the FS portion. All I can say is that on TC I have +90 speed with 9 of that being FS melee enhanced and I'm definitely capped with a normal 4.0 hammer. I'll try to see if I'm capped with a hammer with a higher speed mod and see what the results are.

Just for the record.. I haven't run tests
but I was swinging my ackley damage
sliced hammer once per second last
night.
That's with Master Brawler
All 4 boxes of FS Melee speed
and a +6 Ubese Shirt.
Now does anyone need a
+2 2hspeed ubese bandoleer?

So, yes, you are correct. You can get +12 melee speed with this line, however it comes at a great price, and most people won't have the dedication to get the 20m weapons xp required for it. I don't see the market for speed SEAs diminishing any time soon.
I unlocked this branch and I can cap 900k 2h weapons xp in just under 3 hours. So quick math means you cap 2h weapons 24 times = 72 hours 72 hrs / 14 days = 5.05 hrs a day killing approximately.
I dont grind but as long as I am waiting for phase2 might as well start accumulating. I have a little over 300k fs xp enough to train box 1 - andclose to box 2. I had already filled up novice from all my other combat professions - tk, fencer - pistoleer.
If you break it down it is a little more manageable.

The formula used in calculator is:
$speed = ($S * $D) * ((100 - $P)/100.0)
To take into account FS speed you need to modify formula:
$speed = ($S * $D) * ((100 - $P)/100.0) * ((100 - $FS)/100.0)
Hope it helps.
