Master Swordman

FS Reflexes 3-3-2-1 (working towards master)


With an ADK'd phammer, innate TK armor, terr nego, harvesting ability, and meditate to heal myself, storage drds full of crated p-ups and food, I can stay out in the wildernees almost indefinately. I only need to go into civilization to reapply a ent buff or to empty my inventory of loot.

I have a friend who is Master Doc/Master Riffles and he is all but unbeatable.I decided that since Swordsman is (supposed to be) the melee equivalent of riffles, then master swordsman/master doc would be a great template. However, no one on the message boards seems to have this template. I can also have enuff skill pts to add TK 0103 to this template.


I am not as good as some of you at crunching these numbers. Would the +25pts healing efficiency that you get from doc not be worth giving up some of the other melee trees? Should I give up something to get master brawler? Or try to get the impale attack from pikeman?


Tanking is the least of my interest. Ultimately, I would like to build a template around master swordsman that will allow me to be as stong as I can be in pve and espically pvp.


Your comments/feedback/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

My template is master swords master brawler master tk 0440 pike and fs skills for ranged def melee def and melee spd so far still working on the fs stuff. i enjoy it and find that it is very effective in pvp and pve either one.

I amconsidering dropping Doc, or atleast some of it, and picking up Combat Medic for the paralze special. Do you think this would be a good trade off?

I don't know what Server your on to be able to say that Swordsman is the highest damage dealing profession...
I respec'ed to Master Pikes/Master TK/Novice Swords and I can tell you that this is not true.
The best Hammers on my server (wanderhome) have about 300ish base DPS wiht the exception of a handful of uber hammers noone owns or is willing to sell but every combat prof has those uber weapons.
Now let's start comparing shall we? Vibrolances: 300 DPS
New quest weapons any person with 2 hands and half a brain can get on kashyyyk: 300-324 base DPS. All of them being Fencer-Carb-Rifle-Pistol-weapons. Not a single one of the new weapons from quests is for swordsmen. Anyone respecing a bit can get headhit for a few skillpoints and rival the Master Swords templates (modified DPS-wise with head hit).
Believe me I have tried.

Even worse is that the ranged profs outdamage any powerhammer with or without quest-weapons. I just bought a carbine with 316 base DPS and only 96 action cost, whereas the best Hammer I fave found is at 301 DPS with 125 action costs.

Master Carbs gives you skills that can easily pump the damage up to and over a headhit with swords. Armourbrake makes you have to be up close to the PvP enemy, but before you get there, you are pounded with damage equivilant to your own.

Sure I have won lots of PvP fights with Master Swords/Master TK/ Novice Pike - BUT those where either in group-fights OR my enemy is not much of a PvPer.
If I go 1v1 against a ranged prof that knows what he is doing... no chance: /KD/HIT/root/HIT/HIT/HIT/HIT/HIT/snare/HIT/KD/HIT/repeat.

Fine it's ok that a carb can win against me in the open field and sees me coming for him. I'm cool with that. That's way it's supposed to be. (ala Harrison Ford in last crusade)
But what bugs me is that swordsman is not what it was told us it would be: The high damage dealing profession. We are simply ONE of the many professions that deal high damage compared to TK. But even a Pistoleer with the right template can easily deal out the same damage as we do and rock against melee in PvP (not only 1v1 but also groupbattles).




Just a lil comment for you. DPS isnt that important. Sac and max damage are the most important followed by accuracy and than speed. DPS does you know good when your using specials which is mainly what a swordsman uses; instead max damage is the most important thing. As far as SAC; well made hammers now have about 1050 max damage with 85-88 sac. And as far as other templates competeing with me for damage I don't think so; I hunt with a master powers template jedi with a good saber , a master defender with a good saber, master bh master carb, and I easily out damage all of them hitting 1.6k or more against lvl 80-82.

my templates one box off from that. i havnt lost a single fight to a non jedi, and out of probly 20+ fully templated jedi ive beaten everyone of them all the time, except 1, where im 1 and 3 with him. once i pick up some good stims and food ill take him down though.

If you want to be more of a group player and already have a buffer in your group then I suggest moving the xxx4 in doc to x4xx in medic to get bacta spray and toss.
