Heya Gor,

Someone mentioned this earlier.. don't remember his name, but I won't take credit.

We have an area dizzy with lower posture (offense 4?), but the problem is we don't have a single-cast one.. and we desperately need a dizzy single cast, since we're probably the only melee class without knockdown (i thought one handed don't have it.. but i got KD by a onehander yesterday... no he didn't switch to TKA)

As for what dizzy does, here's the result of my testing (using rifle's flurry shot and the help of my gurreck)

Flurry shot does dizzy, while gurreck often use lower posture attack)

I also jump in and use sweep on the target every now and then...

WIth dizzy, the target will sometimes (20% chance) fall down when their posture change and they try to stand up (i'm still not sure whether its the posture change or they just fall cause they're too dizzy). Fighting nyms, out of all the nyms i dizzied, around 80% of them got knockdown sometimes before they die (well more than 80%.. but often when they only have 1/3 hp left.. they didn't get knocked the first 30 secs after dizzy).... SO dizzy is by far not an overpowering skill. But it definitely adds to our lacking arsenal.

It'll be great if the dev can give us our much needed single dizzy+prone attack that use lesser ham cost. Or at the very least make dizzy more reliable in knocking down the target...

then again maybe i'm just not getting it right... anyone has a valid knowledge on how it works?

Once they're knocked usually they find it really hard to stand up.. but posture change won't get them to fall that easily. =/

Hiya all...

...to MrTokai and all you others out there posting..

Just to let you know that your issues and requests are being read and noted.

As i have mentioned before we are unfortunately stuck for now: the Devs requested us to please wait sending in our next mail until we got their answers for our first one....which unfortunately hasn't happened so far...

*sigh*..i know..not the best of situations...guess we'll have to use some more HAM on our swordsmen's patience....

hmmm...funny...always got this pic of a meditating TKA in my head...which is btw an animation and skill i would loooooove to see in our tree...

Anyway....all this to say: please continue posting, analyzing, requesting....if i don't post it's not because iwouldn'tread but because of the above mentioned situation...

Thank you

Happy wielding

Gorecki

/tell forum 1. Ive been having fun asa master swordsman. Swordsman is a fun profession, but it needs some work. I agree with most of the stuff you guys have said, although i don't know if we should be deflecting shots, seems to jedi like 8 )> I think that the ham costs need to be addressed. Pistoleers can spam their cheap special without having to pay with HAM hardly at all. You can get a good scout blaster that has like a max ham of 20. Compare to our 67 then add the multiplier. Anyways, no need to compare anything to pisoleers: everyone knows that they are ridiculous and need a good nerfing (especially with the machine gun likespeed bounty hunter line.)Swordsman are strong, but its a little ridiculouse that we have to have a medic on our back to use more than 3 or 4 special moves. By the way, look forward to hit 3. It doesn't take up close to as much ham as head 3.

Melee in pvp in general usually gets worked. I killed quit a few imps today using trusty old sword. As long as you are covert and can sneak up on them you can always get a fun 1 hitter. I did spin 3 and incapped 3 guys at once. Only had time to deathblow 2 of em because of a darn critter and a bounty hunter who lit me on fire and eye shotted me. By the way. A helmet and some other armor is definately worth it. As long as its not vulnerable, it will atleast half the damage you take. I find burst run usefull. While for same reason it seems impossible to hit someone while either they or you are moving because of out a range bugs and such. If you can get a hit, use burst run before everyone else caps you. HAHA. Also, i heard someone say that 3 mtrs it to long of a range. Just say no to that! First, i think meters on this game are a little shorter than real meters. But even more, have you ever pvp'd? Out of ranged bug is not going to be helped by making our range shorter. Its hard enough to hit them when we are standing on their toes.By that reasoning also, riflemen snipers should be able to hit targets from about a half a mile away. Nuff with that. The main problem I see is that even at close range, we still get worked many times because of bugs and crap. If we get close, it should be over, if they get far away, it should be over.

The weapon variety in this game kind of blows for everyone. This is a whole universe and there seems to only be 1 or 2 good weapons for everyclass. There should be hundreds of differeent weapons for every class.

As for our specials. Ther are all pretty much the same. Like i said earlier. ill save you guys time experimenting and tell you straight up what is good to use. Sweep 1 because it lowers posture of a single target. You dont attack agro. Spin 1, because it lower posture of multiple targets and still does some good damage. But most importantly, it doesn't eat up All your HAM (well it does, but not as fast) 8 ) Spin 3, because it does some good damage and blinds , or dizzies or something. Use it more than a few times and youll kill yourself though. Spins are worthless if you get area attack. sweep 2 is worthless, except for the cool animation. I like gorcki's ideas. Atleast make them do different things. Blind em, dizzy em, light em on fire, something!!!! I say give us a knockdown move. Lets go all out like polarm. Spin 1 knock down one. Spin 2, multiple knockdown. MUAHAHAHAHA. No lets get serious, knockdown is the cheapest move ever. I say that if the pistoler can do it without using up hardly any HAM, we should be able to atleast do it. Atleast with us we couldnt do 20 in a row because we'd fall to our deaths first.

At this point, the best thing a swordsman can do is pick up a ranged weapon. I just got master sniper abilities. Sniper shot is awesome. Shoot some peoples minds and make em bleed. Run away till they incapDeath Blow from 64 mtrs. HAHA. Oryou canmind hit em with you sword. Thats fun also. Anyways, i think this game is meant to be multi profession. Get your self some xplore 4 a rifle and a creature. A rifleman with a sword and a creature will kill a plain rifleman, or a plain swordman, or a plain creaure handler

By the way PvP sucks for faction points. You get like 7 - 19 for killing and loose 30 for dying

Any swordsman having problems with Area3 "Domination" attack? Mine seems to be the same as Area2 (but, using more ham, different attack name)(No dmg increase, no blind, and no new animation)
