Thread: Is it just me or can swordsman not pvp (dodnt flame for idiocy)

you guys do know that hit3 dizzies and lunge2 kd right and that intim2 is a 75% damage reducer not 50% like intim1. thats why i think is more of a benefit to be a master brawler since once u dizzy kd u can then switch to a dot weapon and apply dots then switch back for headhit3

Template:

Master Swords, Master Doctor, FS lines: Melee Accuracy, Melee Speed, Ranged Defense, Melee Defense, Luck (2 boxes, would have 4 but no more skill points).





Most rifleman are forced to change direction which allows you to close in on them so unless it's out in a field you can't really be kited, and getting them KD'd and dizzy'd and mashing them in is easy since they only have ranged mitigation 3 sometimes.

been pure melee for a long time now. i've been:


masterswords/tkm/3 4 0 0 fencer/ mbrawler/ novice medic


MS/fencer/4 3 0 0 tka/novice medic/ MB


tkm/mpike/ 3 4 0 0 fencer/MB/ nmedic (sucked so bad, made me realized why i droped tkm in the first place)


went back to swords cause i missed it and it rocks for pvp


master swords/ master pike/ 0 4 0 0 fencer/ medic 1 1 0 0/ speed and acc tree in fs crap


i use my ph i hardly ever miss, i'm capped on speed and have extremely high acc due to other attatchments. i'm able to posture down and dizzy with my ph, scythes at this point are pretty much useless to me. yeah a few people have high blast but it never gets me much trouble. pikeman i use for dots though i dont usually use them unless i get dots put on me or its a big raid, then i become an area whore. i give jedi horrible horrible hell. thing with swordsman is you have to know how to use it, and it takes time. knowing how to use all the skills from brawler is a must. dont listen to all these people talking about going in to range trees its pointless unless you're mastering a range profession, its alot of wasted sp. another learning curve is getting range kiters this just takes practice. i used a scythe mainly to posture down and dizzy with area hit 3 before i had fs stuff. oh and guy who said fencers would always win, maybe before they fixed scatter hit 2, i was a fencer then and it was crazy doing 600+ damage through someones armor. fencers today get owned, casue you have just as much stun protection as everything else with shield generators and stun armor, and if it gets bad for some reason synthsteak. if you do a decent amount of damage to me i warcry you for 20 secs and heal myself completely. finally make a looping macro for center of being, THAT being on all the time is key.

I usually pvp field, and w/out terrain negotiation due to lack of sps, it can get ugly. In the instance of a CM chucking nasties at you, then switching to their rifle, kiting is still very possible, granted it doesn't happen too often, its been one of the few ways that I have died.

we can PvP and very well too i might add. why do most people think pikeman are horrid? 1) bad normal weapon acc mod (even worst then PH), 2) slower than swordman (by default with no attachment), 3) weak defense and block only takes off partial amount of incoming damage


a well played swordman (with default mods/no attachment and Dots)play against a well played pikeman (with default mods/no attachments and DoT) assuming thier other template is excatly the same swordman should win. 1) because we do mind damage, 2) because with the scythe we are much faster and more accurate specaily with the scythe hitting the dizzy is easy. i believe this and i am willing prove it if anyones doesnt believe me on this one.


A good template pikeman can be very lethal tho by now means do i put them down, intimidate, stun, kd/dizzy and the old leg hits. But thier innate flaws are far worst than ours. we dont have many moves nor many choices but the ones we do have are effective enough to see through most fights given that you know how to use them. i have to say is i wasnt a swordman i would not know and understand the mechanics of the system as well as i do.


To me our lack of choice and somewhat hard to get it to shine is what i like about swordman. It's a real pleasure when you beaten somebody because you know this is far from the win button.


Swordman CAN PvP, and very well. the real question for those who do PvP with swordman is :can the player themself PvP.
