Call me stupid but ive gotten almost all my items to like 20 conditionbefore i repair them and out of roughly 60 or so ive lost only a mere 1 item so i say burn the hell out of it get your fun repair it and if it doesnt work prop it on a wall and sell tickets

im almost positive i read in patch notes way back....im talking way back....
that master crafters get a bonus when repairing there items, such as armor for armorsmith weapon for weaponsmith etc...

If the bonuses do work, they stack onto the repair tool percentage so if you are using a 100% tool, there is no difference. ive seen a master wsuse a 100% tool next to a 43 crafting station and still destroya gun.there is gonna be a base failure rate no matter what.
I would agree with whats been said so far, use it till about 100 condition (in extreame situations only)then if you are already rich, repair it yourself. if you are poor, sell it.
