Oh, I'm aware that all posture changes do this, it really does need to be addressed, especially considering that both our professions get area posture changes, it's not realistically possible for us to make sure we don't hit an already PD'd enemy if we're using them.
As I say, I don't want a KD, I don't feel we even need a KD if our posture changes worked as advertised, but even if they fix that, it leaves us with about 8 posture change moves, I want to see some variety as well, especially stuns - if I'm hitting you repeatedly in the head with a 25lb explosive sledgehammer, sooner or later you're going to be left seeing nothing but tweeting birdies aren't you ?

Does the KD timer apply to all specials combined? By that I mean if you use a Pike KD, can you use a Pistol KD right afteras well or does the timer used for both at the same time?

I agree that having so many PC moves is boring and not very useful.However you don't seem to be considering balance issues at all, making this topic just the same as all the 'WE NEED AP3/STUN DAMaGE!!!' ones.
2hArea3 actually says it inflicts blind in its description. Admittedly we don't really need that either, but if anything was going to be changed, I'd prefer if it was something 'broken'.

um...KD food really takes the bite out of the dizzy/KD. Swordsman have a dizzy, and a posture change. Isnt that enough? Heck, 2handed lunge1 can KD, the one you get at novice brawler. Personally, I like to stack my defenses, intimidate and smash peoples brains out (headhit3). Most players will panic when they notice you have depleted most of their mind and they have not been able to hit the "I win" button of Dizzy/KD on you. Eat some KD food and Smash away, you will be surprised how many players will keep trying to knock you down while you blow their mind. Until the combat rebalance happens, a speed capped Swordsman should destroy anything in his path (Some Jedi and CM are an exception). Personally, I think Swordsman is one of the only viable, (mostly) working classes, and I have mastered every combat class except CM. Heck, if you really want the KD, go Carbineer/Swordsman. Kite, Dizzy/ KD whole groups of people, then run in and start making what was inside their Composite Helmet start oozing out onto the ground.

Sounds like TheRealJack is one of those merc room spawn buggers that I see alot of these days, I prefer a blind attack than a KD, blind seems most helpful for swordsman.

You used to be able to spam posture change or KD with consistant success, however the devs changed it sometime ago that if you land one then land another it forces them back on their feet- this was to prevent people from spamming KD especially in PVP. I see the same result in using hit3 that if I land a dizzy on an opponment, then land a dizzy again it unsticks the dizzy.

i say keep it a posture attack. were not ment to have lots of knockdown attacks. were mono a mono damage dealers, and master brawler gives you a 20m knockdown. pikeman is the kockdown king, were the damage kings
plus, if i dizzy an opponent in pvp, and ikd with lunge, he's down. if he manages to get up, i hit him with sweep. he tries to stand, and falls down again. 2 knockdowns in conescutive order. more tactical abilities imo

I would love a state attack, such as stun/blind or even stun/blind/dizzy
2h sweep is still better than you think, hit3 until they dizzy, then spam sweep 2, they will fall

well a few comment from me,
1) area knock down should be for pikeman, they are heavy crowd controler. we are suposed to be heavy hitting shock troop type.
pikeman needs some loving and they do not need other profession to have thier perks. if you want the knockdown move got master brawler, +5 toughness, speed, accuracy with intimidation and cob bonus is fantastic anyways.
2) i had already mention that blind isnt characteristic of our profession, we already have high center of being (i know we got poo everything else) having blind in our profession would shift us too far on to defensive, and we shouldnt be. we should be offensive, with vunerability to defense. with mitigation in the game all of that is out of the water.
whiles stun might be a better one for us to have and more characteristic i dont think it is balance, it would most likely shift us too powerful, intimidation +stun, then posture/dizzy/kd and high damage (assuming when mitigation is removed) abit too much it i think.
We got too many useless redudant moves, i know gabe already knows about it and i am sure he will push for it to change. the problem i see if what can we possibly change it to, that 1) keep our characteristic, 2) keep the profession balance and 3) dont end up stealing taking other profession's unique perks.
I had thought about it and i dont think any exisiting status would fit into the 3 catches. I would like to see something like "off balance" where by the target is more vunerable to posture change. that would fit a shock trooper type, we apply that our pikeman friend hit thier area KD and perfect crowd control and breaking the ranks. or "shock" there the target's speed is reduced so we can stay out holding the front abit longer, that would also fit a shock trooper without messing with the defense issue
