Thread: I hate to say the 2h curved sword needs nerfing, but this just doesn't feel right.

What are you guys talking about? Getting your ass handed to you later in your career for using a 2 handed curved? I solo shallow tortons, greater shaupauts, even piket longhorns with mine. Its powerful.

Also, I agree what is the point of this post? You want to nerf 2 handed curved so we buy other stuff like the guy above me said? And like the other guy above me said, what about scout blasters? All elite professions suck for weapon certs. Only commando, do you actually get new weapons, otherwise you get 1 weapon cert on EVERYONE that is usually weaker than the ones before it.

I just realized something... I really needed to post this in the Brawler forum... because the fix I suggested has absolutely no effect on someone who is already a Swordsman.

See my post in the "no matter how good.." thread. You are missing one of the most important factors about weapons, DPS is far from the whole story.

DTox, don't even bother. Since we're not swordsmen we're obviously not welcome here, even though we're the ones who make the swords they use.

Easy solution. Unequip your 2h curved sword, equip Heavy Axe. That was all I used till I got Novice Swordsman. You nerf my 2h curved sword, there will be hell to pay. Once you fight CL20 and higher mobs, you will see it is in no way "over powering".

Did you actually read past the subject line of my original post, where I outlined my actual complaint with the sword, and how to fix it without altering a single statistic of it?

How it should be.

Curved swords should be Light AP (AP1) (Advnaced 2-handed)

Cleavers should be Medium AP (AP2) (Master 2-Handed)

Power Hammers should be Heavy AP (AP3) (Novice Swordsman)

Agreed.

Please see the DPS comparison in this thread. At Master Level 2H Curved is the WORST.

There doesn't need to be any changes made to any of our weapons except the Vibro Axe which is currentlyuseless due to being AR1. If it was AR2 or did Blast Damage, then it could possibly become useful at some point.

That's some fascinating stuff, Nagorak. I'll have to do a little math and see where exactly in the swordsman tree you should give up the 2HCS and go for something with more gusto.

hehe paul like the idea. If anything, a huge Hammer with rockets on the sides seems perfect to whack at an AT-ST which is heavy armor. Cleavers look like something to open up people in armor without damaging the blade and Curved Swords looks like the fast weapon for softer targets.

This is regardless of DPS. Just basic look and feel. Kinda like we wouldn't want our uber weapon being the wooden club.

they should switch cleaver with the curved sword as far as dmg goes.. but nerfing swordsman dmg??! its bad enough there arent enough melee's in this game if anything make the dmg more

I really don't think they should increase our damage. Honestly, if ranged users seriously realized how much damage we were doing, I think many of them would be surprised.

In groups with people of equal or even greater marksman skill, sometimes they mention how they get 1000 exp from the last mob. Almost always, I just keep my mouth shut about the fact I've been getting 1500-2000 from all the mobs we've been fighting. I figure it's just compensation for the fact they're sitting in the back with little risk, while I actually take the hits.
