Can you clarify that area taunt is indeed broken as all taunt is, I respeced to TKM to get most taunt bonuses and taunt is utterly useless.

taunt is kinda hanging in the air right now. the problem is that it doesnt trump the mobs naturally attacking the highest damage dealer.

if i find anything out about taunt ill fill you in, but right now its on the doesnt work/is bugged list.

Try buying some new armour, the refitted armour isnt as good.

I have taken up some Pikeman skills as they have sweep, which in its improved and advanced forms knocksdown opponents just about every timeI hit and its an area attack.

everything in this post makes absolutely no sense to me, everything has changed

- I support the proper use of common sense when it comes to re-developing games which are nearly two years into their tenure...evidently this sentiment is not shared by those that finance this game.

The trouble is we can't use the combat window to read all of what's really going on with attacks anymore. They influence other things too such as defense and armor-piercing. There's things going on in the attacks that there's no way for us to see, and we won't know until the devs release documentation on it.

The main thing I experience is that the Action cost is too high. Not many adnvanced or i9mproved moves and I am "Too Tired" which makes me vulnerable to almost anything. That is in spite of Brandy to boost Action regen. Admittedly I haven't looked around too much to figure out what food and drink to use.

One cause to I haven't been around to find food / Dring is that too many vendor owners still haven't withdrawn their products all the way into their inventory and put them up again. Why this? Since they need to end up in incentory to get refitted/respeced or whatever. Naturally you can buy the stuff, but you cannot examine it before buy. Spread the word to your Chef & Artisan friends, they need to pull the stuff into their inventory and then up with it again. Cumbersome? Yes, very!

The second thing I have troubles with is defence. I cannot take much damage before I am laying eating grass for a few seconds. Or got have to see the clone structure from inside once more. That is, Taking on someone delivering ranged damage I am in trouble, running after them hinders my strikes, stopping to strike, they move a bit and shoot. Even worse if they got their fellows aggro at me too. Then I am roasted.

"Run away!" "Burst run!" Ya-ya, I know, but what does that help when every hit takes its toll and their range is that far I still cannot get out of range before I eat grass.

Is it my armor, I still on ly have my refitted padded armor and a PSG 1900+ def. See above about the browsing vendor trouble. Ideas? Suggestions? I am all ears, cuz I happen to like to see the sudden terror in the eyes of my opponents

This is the way the game should have Started. You have a sword and I have a gun. I shoot you from a Distance. You maim me at close range.

Thats not entirely true . . . I have been doing heaps of missions . . . I guess, grinding in its own way (but certainly not like it used to be). I have a pet, which I group (so there is the downside in my story) but have been gathering XP pretty sucessfully. Easiest missions, but most tedious, are the Rebel missions. Tedious because of the XP (there are usually only 1-3 combatants at a top of 10-13K per mission), but its better than nothing. Also, I have been grouping with my pet and doing the generic missions like animal warrens. This is a little more difficult, but can net 15-25K. Once you hit the main group of animals, hit the warren with your pet once or twice, and a second group will appear. Kill that group, attack the warren with the pet again and sometimes you get a third group. Just make sure you heal between groups (and heal your pet for med XP). - - Yes I respec-ed with Combat medic to combine with my Master Sowrdsman. (Oh, and if you get incapped, you might get a fourth and fifth group.)

Works pretty good . . . still not like back in the old days, when I was a kid . . . but better than nothing!

(Could I have more paranthetical statements?)

Not true. XP is much faster in a group, but good tactics will allow solo play still, just no Superman mode.

That is very wrong, with my template i can solo level 82 missions without wearing armor or using doc/food buffs and i can even fight 2 level 80 or below at the same time and survive, if you work your templates right you can solo very easily in this game, maybe not as easy as before, but the option is still there.

Swordsman Master

TKA Master

Fencer 1XXX

Brawler 444X

Giving me a General Melee Acuracy of 145, General Melee Speed of 45, Melee Defense of 175, Ranged Defense of 130.

Using a 1004 max damage P-hammer (around 450 dps) and taking advantage of the TKM inate armor and if i remember to do it before hand the TKM mediate buff (cant remember whats its called)

i generally, start the fight by using CoB, then i hit dizzy/knockdown/armor break/bleed then alternate between two extra damage attacks on diferent timers to get maximum speed of swing, with /meleehit as my auto incase i run out of action and reaplying CoB as and when needed. Generally takes under two minutes to take down lvl 78 to 80 npc missions

Looking at the skill Calculator you could easily go

Brawler Master

Swordsman Master

TKA Master

Pikeman XX4X

Fencer 4XXX

Giving you General Melee Acuracy of 185, General Melee Speed of 60, Melee Defense of 250,Ranged Defense of 185. But this would leaveonly 7 points for other skills, so no medic or scout andvery little force sensitive skills.

Thanks for the info, Krey!

And yes, we can still solo. It's not even that tough.

Last night I was clearing lvl 82 gungan missions with no problem. At one point, I got lazy, and aggro the full spawn, plus the lvl 34 spawn next door. I came out just fine.

Previously, I was MBrawl, MSwords, TKM, Pike 3000. No issues there - powerboost + innate + CoB. I changed over to a more group friendly (I think) build yesterday of MSwords, TKM, Doc 4000, and still had no issues. I took more damage, but I could also heal it, so it all washed out. I was even keepingmy wife alive, and she's CL 30. Soloing is extremely possible. It's just a new style. Pull, manuever, buff, CoB, it's all good.

Shyy'rissk the Angry Wookiee:Former Master Swordswook 4440 Doc, Pre-NGE TKM, MPike, Doc 4000, now Master Spy. "Still here, still hitting things until they fall down."

Eenig Darksun, Former Ith Pistoleer and Armorsmith, now Officer "No, you can't call me ET."
Daolee the Spiky, Rodian Medic. "We puts the needle in here, and either you die, or you feel better. If you die, we use it on enemy next time!"

Just curious, why not the above pikeman into scout for some cash or doctor for more defense? Does that 4 in pike really require training for extra damage? I mean with TKM and MHS why pike? I would think a utility would be better, or does that add the melee speed/def.

Sorry for the newb question but I've been gone since beta.
