Thread: The Road to Swordsman tips from Gorrbacca
Im going for the Rifle / Sword combo too.
Ive got a question for you guys...both who use rifles and ones who soley use swords...
What are your HAM bars set to? When hit up close do you usually lose from your health?
< Wookie rifleman/swordsman/musician
1000 health 1100 action 900 mind most supporting stats are close to max as well. well just the main ones. I could have 1350 health as a wookie, but I dumped those extra points into the supporting stats.
The thing that frustrates me is the armor. Currently wearing full suit of Mabari (I'm a human)and while the damage absorbsion is amazing - the armor falls apart really quick. Trying to repair is doesnt get good results at least for me, I destroy the armor more often or not. Does it matter who repairs it?
No it does not matter who repairs it. The trick with this is getting a high quality armor repair tool. At one point I had a full set of sliced padded and a set of composite (was going to do BH), but since going swordsman I've found I'm better off without armor. How do you survive? Well doc buffs are always a good thing to look for, but other than that there is something many players have overlooked - personal shield generators.
Most gripes with the PSG is that it costs about 20k and wears out fast making it not very cost effective to use. Well here's what you do:
1. Find a master to make you a good quality armor repair tool (mine's 95%)
2. Have said master make you your customer PSG. They have resists to everything, but a master can make super resists in one particular area. With this in mind, I invested in two of them. One of them has super resist to kinetic (PvE), and the other has super resist tolightning (PvP). Now depending on weapon type, that may or may not help, but a lot of the folks I have encountered have been BH's with those LLC's. Flamethrowers will tear you up also, but as long as you can get in close while they are occupied on someone or something else, then there's no worries. For some reason commando's are hellbent on using the FT so I have rarely had one switch to a ranged weapon and try to kite me. Oh well, their ignorance is my blessing ![]()
health 400/400/400
action 400/400/400
mind 1100/900/900
hehe, but im also a doc with buff d's.
Just another quick tip. As I was working up towards novice swordsman, I began using the spin attack exclusively. I do most of my hunting on Corellia, so I'd go up to a scavenger vrelt lair, hit it a couple of times, and then do a series of spin attacks, hit it a few more times, spin attacks... repeat until destroyed.
Most of the nests would give between 3000 and 4000 XP, and I could destroy the whole thing in under a minute. I'm also a medic so it didn't take much to get healed in between those times.
Worked great for me, and now working on intermediate offense. (Area attack 1 sounds nice)
