Thread: Loot Theory, whats your opinion?

I think it is completely random but there is a hard coded "good luck day".
Every so often you can do no wrong... I completly filled my backpack with serveral crystals Janta Blood/hide AA, CA, message fragments and loot kits. I mean COMPLETELY full... backpack and overflow in my inventory (I normally travel light for references).
So my theory is each character has a "random seed number" assigned to it: say 0-50, and every time the server reset it "re rolls" the loot number and everyone with a matching number gets a "good luck loot day".
Think about it it makes perfect business sense, I mean if you play every day and get a small amount of loot(ala normal) you'll quickly get bored. But if you hardcode a "good luck day" which DRAMTICALLY increases your loot chance, you'll be more inclined to continue paying your monthly fee to experiance another "good luck loot day".
You make it rare enough to be exciting and common enough so people don't become dis-illusioned. It doesn't upset the econmy as "Good luck loot days" are allways happening somewhere for some people. When you are in a solo group occasionly one person just keep looting and looting and you can't shut them up as they rabit on how they have got ANOTHER crystal, while all you cna get is a couple of reinforced staves.

Hmm Ive been on a good streak all week then I started Sunday w 10 GDK scales , Ive got 2 powerplants on 5 corvette runs, and two loot kit adhesives. That total could get me around 60 mil on my server.

So me getting credits of elders and 14 acklays without a bone drop is devine intervention?

I was in the Geo Caves with a Jedi group Friday trying to enhance the room (I'm a Pikeman. I had my loot macro running and the loot was happening in bits. When i first got there i was filling up my inv faster than i could delete the crap then it stopped for a while then went nuts again. This was the same for the 3 hours i was there. I recon that it was in 45min intervals for about 5-10 mins a time when i was getting loot.

well i was doing the corvette and every once and a while my group members get something good (i.e armor attachment ect) i would get lame credits. The one day out of no where loot cor sec glvoes with +7 carbine accuracy +9 food experimintation + 3 pistol speed. I do agree some days are better then others but to a certain extent except for some programming here and there its random. And like Nymphotweety said about the geo caves.when in the geo cave i was with like 4 jedi pals and we were killing stuff like crazy we were getting no stop loot for like 20-30 miniutes it calm down for a little then before we knew it our inventory was full again. Geo caves always good spot for loot.Dont knwo whats up witht hat place it just gets crazy sometimes.

Hey Ive actually never spent much time killing the npcs on these missions Is that how you loot the Chest plates and stuff?

i say random, tho i think janta's drink up all there bloods, cause i never loot janta blood
