Without a doubt....STUN

People have accuracy mods that are so high that a blind will have little affect...unless its a Pikeman

Now stick Intimidate (-50%dmg) and stun (-25%) on a TKM, and they might as well be hitting youwith a wet noodle......you won't even care if they are hitting you...it'll be so little.

Lets put this in to a little story of combat vs an enhanced Kwi in the Geo caves. Those guys stun and intimidate together. Before they stick them on me, I can hit 2-4K with my PH..sometimes more. Once the states hit me, I'm hitting for 200-600 damage. If they hit me for blind, my accuracy is so high I would still hit, and when I did...not being stunned, I would hit for a lot more.

/stun

It's been said, but stun+intimidate = free win. intimidate being 50% & stun being 20% plus a small to-hit bonus, and they lose an attack round I beleive.

somy total defense =

-50% intimidate

-20% stun

-25% AP1

-80% armor

-47% or 4.7% for toughness.

but for blind... blind + high melee/ranged def = medium level mobs don't even touch you. add COB onto that and you have...

Fencer!

If any of you have ever mastered fencer you know what I mean. Hunting anythin en masse in the 10k HAM and below range, and you will find yourself a tiny god.

Honestly I think an Area Stun would rock my socks, but i'd rather give that to the pikemen(if they don't have it already.) As much as I love swordsman, each class needs it'sown defining characteristics. We apparantly have high damage and POSTURE DOWN! live with it.. hehe..

I am just curious what you guys think would be more helpful to the swordsman profession for the heck of it.

Would you rather have stun or blind?

Noc, I know we sorta addressed this in that PvP balance thread but I'm curious about everyone else so

For those that are a little unclear stun lowers defenses and what not, and blind lowers your targets accuracy. I'm not to well versed on the exact effect of stun but when I slap it on someone with tka, I notice they go down faster.

I'm quite torn between both. Stun would allows us to drop things faster but since we do lack high defenses, which I am well aware are offset by high offense, a blind would kind of substitute for that. Either would help us in PvP and things shouldn't be alive long enough for it to matter in PvE(or you aren't doing your duty as a swordsman *shakes hammer*!!!!). I personally think I perform well in most PvP situations but I do see many swordsman perform poorly so maybe stun or blind would help them out.

dude we didnt sorta address the issue we actualy did! i do see alot of swordman not reaching full portential in pvp alot, so many people still dont even know we can dizzy. god i had this argument with a person who thought we can only blind and not dizzy i settle it by flooring him.

Swordman isnt an easy profession to get it to shine, which is very strange since we got the least amout of moves variation out of all the brawlers. strange but true, it isnt about spaming mind damage people....

Anyways my anwser to this would be stun, and quite frankly it would most likely make us unbalanced is my fear but still if i get the choose for argument sake i take stun over blind. defense you can make up by other means offensivly you can not. thats my logic anyways

(and why did somebody one stared this thread? anywho some of us corrected it)

Remember swordsman does have a blind attack 2h area attack3 has a chance to blind very useful against a jedi. In many pvp fights i have landed it and with CoB marco the jedi didn't stand a chance.

Very sure been a swordsman for 8 months. Check the description of the attack it states that it has a chance to blind, damage and posture change, this is very useful after applying dizzy with Hit3. Ppl should remember we have more attacks then HeadHit3

Well, Area3 does say it can blind and dizzy both..in addition to the posture down, but after having used it many many times over many months, I am sure I can count on one hand the number of times that blind has stuck on anything I was fighting. The dizzy is far more likly to stick than the blind, and we all know how rare the dizzy is on area3. The possibility of blind in that attack has got to be in the single digit percentile. In fact, I am pretty certain that the blind attack that Unarmed has in the brawler line at unarmed3is 10x more likely to stick blind than our most powerful area attack.

for the record...wrong.

Intimidate 50% 100dmg reduced to 50dmg

stun 15%-30% range. 100dmg reduced to 85-70dmg (exact range is still up in the air, but it is NOT more than intimidate.)

combined on a target ...100dmg-50%-(15%/30%)reduced to 35+/-

I have also heard that stun is a super nerf to dodge. So for all those rifleman/fencers out there just stun their a$$ and they should have trouble running away. I've tested it and it seems to work. Most likely has the same effect for counterattack but haven't tried it.
