1) The position swordsman are placed are as damage dealer/tanking ability but they seem to have taken away our area attacks and given us area taunt. Also armor break looks like its only for PvP and nothing to do with PvE, so we are getting a skill that has nothing to do with SWG but PvP.

2)I personally like the weapons but ofcourse they are limited in damage because of their elemental damage, so power hammer is the hardest hitting again. Personally I am not sure how armor/damage is working atm :/. Just wished all weapons could reach a certain amount as long as resources were the same.

3)Give an area attack that changes posture( not sure if flurry is that ).

1. Not a big enough difference on the weapons through out the lower level of swordsman and the 2 hand tree of brawler. The damage range from the frog weapons doesn't go up significantly with the steps and the only difference between the apprentice swordsman weapon and the novice swordsman weapon is the speed factor.

2. I like the additional speed that has been added through out the tree, but we don't really know what the new speed formulas are.

3. Not really sure right now. Will have to see what swordsman is at master level in the CU.

just wanted to step in and answer that one... it is a PvE/PvP skill high lvl creatures have armor. at being lvl 25 i see the creatures have natural armor on them. and armor break helps take them out a little bit faster.

Q1) Armor. The devs went over board on this part of the Combat Nerf and I don't think anyone understands how it will turn out. You may not consider this Swordsman specific, so I'll let up to you all to check out the rebellion on the AS forums. Just remember that the devs could've capped composite at 50% max resistance under the pre-CU system and effectively stopped our solo Elder killing. So, it really does have a big effect.

Q2) New weapons are cool, but they could have been added without the nerf. Actually, I can't think of anything good about the nerf, so I'll shut up before I rant.

Q3) Area specials - I think the animation is cool and it makes sense that Thor would take down lots of bad toons with one big sweep of this hammer. If this is not negotiable and not part of our "vision", then I want better defenses that will mitigate damage from members of mobs that you aren't targeting with your single attacks.

There wasn't named professions in war. There wasn't people who could use a 2 handed sword perfectly but when they used a 1 handed sword, did 1/20th of the damage. If you had 2 arms, you got a weapon, be it a sword (1 handed or two handed), an axe, or a hammer (or any other weapons that aren't in SWG).

With your logic, that would mean that swordsman should also get all the fencer weapons, the polearms, and the knucklers too.

You had specific fighters in war with lances and pikes to take down horses
Then the fencers that used shields aswell to stand infront and protect from arrows and fighter with heavy swords for close combat to take down an armored enemy. I dont think they could take 2 shield 2 different swords and a pike with em and be armored aswell.
(oh and in the cu they made it so you can use one weapon good if your master swordsman but use a fencer weapon at least a bit)
*gosh*

Q1: What is your largest concern with the CU as it applies to swordsman?

That we truely are the up close in your face Heavy Damage dealers that the chart says we should be.

Q2: What do you like best so far about the CU as it applies to swordsman?

Only Novice swordsman. So hard to tell. I do like the varity of weapons that we seem to get now.

Q3: If you could make one change to swordsman what would it be?

That our moves and abilities are unique to us. It seem that most melee professions are just a tick off on the moves that we acquire.

No AoE attacks.
Q2: What do you like best so far about the CU as it applies to swordsman?

Huge damage dealer. at 2000 i can rival a pistoleer at 1413
Q3: If you could make one change to swordsman what would it be?

Add atleast one AoE attack in. Or add cert messages in skill boxes for kasyykk, sith sword etc.

a1: we're nothing without stacking other melee professions...I don't like that melee has been completely nerfed and now melee stacking is pretty much manditory if you want to be at all successful, its just offensive stacking instead of defensive

a2: It isn't live yet...and the almost nonexistant possibility that it will be cancelled is all that gives me hope

a3: the brawler skill trees are complete crap...give them some purpose...makes me mad....Grrrr

Q1: What is your largest concern with the CU as it applies to swordsman? Well, my only concern is that I don't know how much of a handicap it is to not be able to attack groups effectively at all.

Q2: What do you like best so far about the CU as it applies to swordsman? Very heavy hitting, andmoderate defense

Q3: If you could make one change to swordsman what would it be? Maybe a bit more love in the vareity of new weapons.

A1: My largest concern is that the Cleaver wont be a viable weapon compared to weapons like the Power Hammer...which isnt even a sword =/, it is the most true to the profession in looks (havent seen the CU one yet). Maybe there should be a VibroCleaver?

A2: From what I know about swordsman in the CU, it will fall into line with my style of play more than the current swordsman profession does. Im not into crowd control, I just want to make my target end up in a cloning lab as fast as possible

A3: Other than adding more swords, nothing really, its a pretty balanced profession, which will be more obvious when Teras Kasi Artistgets the VKs taken away...er wait hehe.
