Thread: So how are melees supposed to do faction missions now?
well .. i'm waiting on master defense and master finesse till i'm master .. and now i can't evne do my missions .. i can . .but its very hard before .. i was able to walk up start area attacking keeping them down and win .. now if my posture attack even works they get up .. run away all in different directions .. and these all arer white cons with my panther grouped with me, then from time to time i pick up a storm trooper camp .. and there are 3 storm troopers .. it takes too long to kill a storm trooper with 2 others shooting the **edit** out of you .. they should not have made the kd/posture down timer PVE .. only pvp

Only way of solving that problem with the NPC's Sometimes I pull out my nooby CDEF Pistol or tell my pet to attack them..
Usually I have a hard time fighting the droid Medics if there engaging me from far away while Im killing someone else.. They have that nasty Mind attack that drains me low, EVEN with a helment on.
I'm a Master Brawler with 0-4-1-2 in H.Swords. and I can solo Difficulty 20 missions. I use my Two-hand curved that is sliced for damage. Most of the higher lvl missions are in structures which make NPCs not run

But yeah, LOS really messes with them, don't just chase after them all the time, screw with their AI a bit. Run behind a house, or a big tree and stand there, they will come up and melee you.
I just started doing rebel faction missions asa master swordsman. I am doing pretty well. So far the best I can get are storm trooper camps which have 2 or 3 even con stormtroopers. I can prevail in these about hals of the time, but if I take one rank lower mission (Small Imperial base with 1 even con storm trooper and about 2 easier toopers/medics) I can pretty much always win.
Yes, the NPC's run, and it is dang annoying. However I can usually get them dead in 2 or 3 2handhit3's. The key is to kill the weakest thing first, and if they are all even, to send your pet after one while you chase one down. I use 2hArea3 to knock him down to kneelingand I can usually get one or two more hits in, which is usually all I need. Note that I have a PH sliced for max damage. With a powerup the max damage is 707.
I have also started using my mind bleeding attack on the first thing I attack and then hunting down his friends while he quickly dies. Waiting for NPC's to go prone is a very good idea because usually you can one shot kill them if they are riflemen (Yes even stormtroopers). And often the stupid computer AI will have them whip out a melee weapon when you engage too, so it is worth trying at least.
So yeah, factional missions can be tough. They certainly require a lot more effort than normal destroy missions. And no, you will never have it as easy as a gun user fighting other gun users. However, it is more than possible, and it can help you develop strategies to use against PC controlled gunmen.
