Thread: Swords that dont cause bleeding and other issues

Note, I'm a pistoleer/swordsmith, so I only sort of know what I'm talking about.

Since 2h swords do so much damage per hit, their bleeds are also of much larger magnitude than a pistoleers, for instance. So really, they're pretty great.

Also, I'll admit that having mainly kinetic damage weapons looks like a drag, but remember that all the weapons are AR2 (except the worthless vibro axe). And that makes a BIG difference as opposed to using an AR0 weapon.

I think something like a light saber (but you know, not really a light saber) would be great for the profession.

Wounding = Bleeding

Only bleeds cause wounds beyond what the weapon's default wound chance is.

These are wounds to the secondary stats, so using Mind Hit 1 will give them a bleed/dot and also a rather nasty wound to their Focus or Willpower.

And as it's been pointed out hitting them with Mind Hit 1 and then Mind Hit 2 will put two bleeds on them that stack with eachother (though the wounds do not stack I believe).

Apparently you never used mindhit1 either.

Well, here in the wonderful galaxy of Radiant mind hit 1 and 2 must be broken, because when i use them they never cause bleeding, wounds sure but no bleeds. But, as others have said this is mostly in PvE; in PvP I'm too busy chasing gunners to worry about bleeds...as Marahxiboh said most players go down with one head hit or 2 hand 3. After I've postured the runner I like to finish it with a quickness not worry about bleeds

Then it either must be you, or your weapons.

I can pretty consistently land large bleed hits with both my two-handed curved sword and power hammer (more consistently with the curved sword of course, because of the far better range mod), and I'm on the same server.

As to using a bleed and it causing wounds and not actually bleeding the opponent, it could be that you're not waiting long enough to see the effect, the first time I used a bleed it did some damage but then I killed the creature with the next shot.
Bleeds are most effective against opponents that take some amount of time to beat down, it's like a DOT, for all those DAoC players

Does anyone know what the actual delay is between damages from a bleed?

As a rifleman/swordsman (well very nearly at least) I can't wait till I can apply 4 bleeds to something.

Many a time I have watched whilst I was incapped my opponent slowly bleed to death, it's like revenge from beyond the grave OOOHHH SPOOKY (well yeah I was just incapped but you get the idea)

I've watched opponents bleed to death after they deathblow me

I believe each tick of a bleed is in the region of 18 seconds, and they last for about 6 ticks.
