Thread: Swords that dont cause bleeding and other issues

I dont post much...because it seems futile sometimes...but i would like to put down my two cents about the swordsman profession. I am a Master Swordsman and a Master TKA. I was goin up the smuggler tree for a bit...then decided it was fruitless...but while i had pistol skills i got used to the bleeding shot. Here is my concern: an energy based weapon which would instantly cauterize a wound effectively STOPPING the bleeding causes bleeding. Meanwhile, a cold, large, sharp metal object which slices and pokes and whatever adjective you can come up with can NOT cause bleeding. Why is this...i feel that melee classes should have the MOST bleeding attacks because we are slicing, bludgeoning, stabbing, etc.

Also, why cant we get weapons that do diff types of dam, i.e. heat, cold, acid, electricity...i know stun batons do stun damage, vibrolances do elec dam, and hammers do blast dam, but thats three weapons spread out accross three diff. professions...and you have to be a novice of each of these elite proffessions to even use them. Meanwhile a master marksman has a gun for EVERY type of damage possible.

There are only two classes in the game that get mind bleeds which are by far the most lethal attack.

Swordsman and Riflemen.

I really don't think we have anything to complain about concerning bleeds.

yep all you can do for those wounds is first aid, you can't heal mind. Unless they want to sit down and take off thier armor. Also if that person is going to heal the wound them self it only increases the speed they are losing their mind bar.

amen to that...............and i think the only reason Rifleman get it is because their elite are Snipers and they target the head.........as we do

I'm confused.

You say you'rea master swordsman, and you're complaining that we can't cause bleeding... yet we get a bleed hit with a first level skill box.

I've seen peopole incap themselves when they were putting first aid on them to stop it it was funny

Okay all the replies so far have regarded PvP only. We all know a mind bleed is freaking awsome in PvP, that is if we ever get close enough to use it (which is another story).

But mind bleeds are not good for PvE. why? because creatures never heal themselves so not being able to heal mind is notan issue.

I think it does make sense that a sword would cause more bleeding than a blaster. especially health and action bleeding. Our specials should all have a "chance" to do a bleed to any pool in my opinion.

Mind Bleeds are just as good as any other bleed in pve when you're solo.

It's in grouiping during pvethat mind bleeds and head attacks fail to help us out.

But at that point that's when you revert to the area attacks, lunge and two hand hit (especially 3 with the dizzy against humanoids).

So in the end I think we trade a small amount of pve effectiveness for a huge amount of pvp effectiveness.

I have no problem with that balance as I prefer pvp anyway.

i neveruse mind hit two...sorry...i never realized it would cause bleeding...if i hit someone with head hit 3 in pve they usually die in one lick so i dont worry with it im only talkin about creatures. sorry if i was misleading in my post, and excuse me for my ignorance.

I will say one thing about monster resists.

I wish there was more variety in kinetic and blast resists.

For the most part every creature I have run into has identical resists to both kinetic and blast which, for me, makes using a power hammer over a curved sword pointless.

I'd like to see more things strong against kinetic and weak against blast to make me really consider that weapon more often.

What specials are you using for the mind bleeds, i want to try it tonight.

and does it have to be human npc's or creature?

- I support the proper use of common sense when it comes to re-developing games which are nearly two years into their tenure...evidently this sentiment is not shared by those that finance this game.
