So i need a scythe to increase my knowledge base? Hmmmm, hadn't thought of that. Now that you mention it,

So from the posts so far, it sounds like the scythe is used for 1) poor nonspeed capped poons (fs speed folks, if you were a swordsman back during phase II, you don't have any excusesto not be capped) 2) hitting fencers in PvP 3) DWB 4) Singing Mountain Dragoons (what do they drop that is better than night sisters, I am honestly asking cuz i dont know).
I guess the one i see a benefit to is 2. Yes, my ackley hammer will always outdamage the scythe vs a fencer, but the -45 to hit is pretty sucky. A normal hammer has better range mods, and worse damage. I guess i will keep it handy so i can go ape S*** on them if i have trouble hitting (i have +25 from AA/CAs, plus food, so it hasn't been that big a problem yet).

Well, what do i need it for? I see pinups of fancy scythes beeing oogled like porn, and i just don't get it. I thought that maybe they are sooooo amazing that you really need to own one to understand the true power. So, i got a good damage sliced one on the forums for 1 mill, figuring i would feel real cool. Iequip it, but now i look like every other lamer holding one, so i guess it doesn't add to cool points. If you want to look real cool, get the clever. Now that is a f***ing sword.
I tried fighting with my new scythe, but was quickly disapointed with the damage so I went back to blowing stuff up with my hammer. I can hear you saying "but myuber 1337 scythe goes up to 450 max!!!!1111!!1" Well, myoff the shelf,mass produced hammer goes to 605 , so450 isn't that impressive.I figure maybe people are fighting blast resistant stuff a lot, and need a high kenetic weapon.What iseverybody fighting that needs kenetic? I know the spider clan are some lonely ladies, so you can't convince me that everyone is up there instead of down at the stronghold.
I guess an arguement for the scythe could be made for PvP mitigation, but an ackley hammer is better anyway, because you will be able to get your min pretty close, andyour max will be WAY above the scythe. Thepoonest of the noobs isgoing to have at least 80% kenetic armor, and anyone who is serious about it will have 85-90% on blast and kenetic. No way the scythe can have a higher PvP output. (correct me if im wrong?)
So does it all come down to speed? Are scythes for the unambitious who are happy with 75 speed and dont really care to speed cap an ackley hammer? If so, cool, rock on, lml (make a fist, then raise your first and fourth finger). I guess the scythe doesn't apply to me because i have fs speed and SEA's.
So i guess the moral of the story is that even though everyone tells you the scythe iswearing clothing, it isn't. Am i the little boy callingout the obvious to everyone, or am i still missing something? Now that I have one, i am ready to kick ass, i just need a little direction where to point my aggression.

Quite proud of being speed capped and having an Acklay hammer? Pat yourself on the back, and try to make it in the DWB without a Scythe. I currently own 3 Scythes, max damage ranging from 400-440 unpuped (1004 condition on two of them too 
), and I cannot imagine the DWB raids I have been going on for the past month without them.
Having a Scythe is always a good thing to have. Limiting yourself to one damage type just isn't smart. Just as Rifleman can't survive without their T-21, DXR, and Jawa, a Swordsman can't survive without his Scythe.

Of course i am proud of being capped. I can't imagine how anyone gets along without it. With FS speed, it is beyond easy. FS speed + M Brawler + 2 from SEA's = capped. If you missed your chance a couple of weeks ago, i guess you need to be patient, but it is going to be worth it. So another vote for the DWB. Nothing there really interests me but i willhold on tothe scythe for just such an occasion.

If you want to limit yourself to one damage type (blast), go for it. Personally, I prefer to use the best weapon for the job. If in 1% of cases, that happens to be a Scythe, then I will carry one. If in 0.005% of cases its a Stun Baton, then I carry one [some things have 100% ken, 100% blast res].
You are not going to convince anyone here to destroy their blade, sorry.
If you just wanted your 5mins of forum fame, you have failed, sorry.
I got my first 4 scythes for free, 1 with a 31% dam slice. Sword Quest + 2x7 solids + 2x7 cubes = happy swordsman. Just thought I'd add that, because a lot of your dislike seems to stem from the fact that you paid 1mil for yours.
ps: I'm aswords/tkm, and I prefer my blade to my vks for ken damage.

I am capped as well actually, so its not like I use a scythe to make up for a lack of speed.

Im not sure about that...whats the min damage of your acklay? My best scythe is about 270(poped 313)....u need some very good bones to get that high...some days ago a few very very godd hammers were sold on gorath...

Actually it is +3 in SEA's with Mbrawler and fs tree. MSwords=80+fs tree 12+Sea's 3 is 95 which is the speed cap with a 6.1 speed or lower.

1 mil. pfft. I paid 5 mil. for mine. I wouldn't leave home without it. The hack seems useless to me and ugly at that. Just my opinion tho. My scythe owns my brothers Jedi everytime. I even beat a fellow swordsman with it while he used a looted 1500max dmg. PH.

Was he afk? 1500 is one badass weapon. Sure you aren't spicing the story up a little?
