Fortunately, I have not had the armor hole issue as of yet, however, I did fight a Nightsister Sentinel that used Force Choke on me. No big deal. But this choke crippled both my secondary mind stats (something I have not experienced before at least) and reduced both of them to 1 even with canape, brandy, and muscian buffs. This made it impossible to do specials or regen my mind while fighting her. I beat her, but barely. My fully buffed mind of nearly 3k was down to a massive 200 and some odd points.

After the fight, it took a good three or four minutes for my secondary stats to recover and start returning to normal. This may not be something new, but in the 9 months that I have been master swords I have never encountered this type of attack from the night sisters.

agree with aouthor, something changed. Must just add that if you dont want any flame, you should try and exclude profanity and "general insults" a bit more.

I just got back from a few hours of NS ganking. Normally I take hits from about 6-140 damage from them, and never over 200 unless my armor's broke. I have Mdoc/MSwords, so no extra mods to def. I had CoB running and I noticed that I counterattacked maybe 1/4th as much as normal. I also was watching combat log after having to drop a canape and a muon when fighting 3 initiates, so needless to say I was more than a little surprised when in the combat log I took a head hit from a scythe weilding Protector for like 900 dmg of which my helmet supposedly stopped 800someodd pts, but low and behold a -2000 floats over my head in blue. I was wearing full armor at the time, all 80% energy 80-90% base composite in great condition. For my money, it appears as though they're hitting right through the armor on occasion, although I'm not sure why a 900 pt hit would deal over 2k damade, even if I wasn't wearing armor. One other interesting thing happened to me, I thought I had my helmet on going into a fight with a spellweaver and I didn't. with 2 brandies and 2 ahrisa I'm used to not incurring a mind cost with my hammer, but after the fight was over I didn't have a single pt of mind damage. I don't really feel like hunting NS's without armor on, so I'm not planning on testing this (could have just been dumb luck), but I did find it kinda funny/disturbing if this was some sort of bug.

You should spread out your thoughts, but yeah, this happened with me and the Sith Thugs. The other day I was soloing 2 at a time and when I helped my friend do the mission I WALKED by one and he 1 hit killed me right there on my health w/ full 40% stun armor and there was only 1 hit in my log that registered like 2k and my health bar was over 3k. Needless to say I was Forking Pessed. Happened a couple more times after that. Think I had a hole in my armor.

Lol, after re-reading my post I agree, I should spread out my thoughts. I'm much more highly edjumacated than I appear like I am.

I was at the village for phase 4 and didnt' have na armor hole problem there with the sith, and same in the geo, but I stopped by the woolamander cave before logging and killed the harrowers. No big problems there, but I took a couple 2-300 dmg health shots, which was very surprising.

I'd still say that it's most likely an armor hole and not a toughness problem, seeing as how it seems to be a random occurance, but I haven't really tested this out. Also, it's kinda odd that it only happens every once in a while, but that when it does it seems to occur for the whole fight.

Someone told me that "random" attacks (i.e. non-pool targeted) is the only way to hit your arms and legs (and maybe hands?)

Is this true? And could it be that maybe they have switched from "pool" attacks to random attacks? and the persons having the trouble don't have legs and arms covered? I suppose the "type" of attack would have changed in the combat window maybe?

I know this is more of a question than an answer... but I am totally new to melee combat (was Rifle/Ranger forever before re-rolling this new Swordsman) and I am just theorizing.

That doesn't seem very likely considering I have been plauged with this sence friday and I am human with a full suit of 83%kin comp. So I am of the opinion that some how the devs screwed up the melee toughness mods. According to my combat cue every hit I took damage was reduced due to armor. So I do not believe that there is an armor hole. And the reasoning behind me thinking it is the mods that are broken is that I seem to be getting hit a lot more than usual. Normally in a grind session 1 outta every 3 enemy attacks missed. Now it is more like 1 outta every 9 miss. Plus mobs seem to be hitting for much larger amounts of damage. Normally I was hit for around 100 damage tops most of which was sucked up by my armor now I am consitently getting hit for 200 damage through the armor.

yeah i got owned by an elder the other day, but it felt like it could have been one of them bad days, especially since i was recovering from a run in with a stun baton weilding elder. But since then i havent noticed anything. I spent all of yesterday in the geo caves and felt pretty god like, at one point i was tanking 5 kwi's 6 crap spiders 1 droid 2 mercs and a kliknik and didn't need to heal or nothing. Also took down the acklay at one point w/ my 300dmg scythe (i was watching tv and didnt notice i had my crap scythe equipped) while on a downer and the rest of that room was trying to kill me. I only died when i went afk in the merc room with my helmet off lol. But i'll test it on the chicks again here soon

Well from what I have been able to determine this is a wide spread issue. On some servers but not all. A few theorys have been advanced like being effected by states makes you get hit everytime( tested this one last night and found no real difference in the number of hits and missed over being stated and not being stated). There is also that damage has been increased (possible and would explain why everything is killing us). Melee toughness and or Mitagation is borked (personally I lean towards this one because this problem seems to be effecting only some servers). Needless to say I think it needs more testing but it seems pretty obvious that there is some sort of bug here.

There is definitely something wrong. I've read other posts about a Toughness bug but nothing about an armor hole although it would explain why I got capped by a Tusken Warlord of all things last night.

Normally I can run through the Tusken fort with no armor except maybe my gloves and nothing but a Tusken Observer or Witch Doctor is going to threaten me. Last night Im fighting a Tusken Capt and a warlord, I'm fully buffed and mind buffed with brandy canapes, sythsteak, etc and out of no where the Warlord does a Strafeshot and hits me for over 2000 damage and I was incap'd but before I can press Force of Will to save myself the Captain slays me (Dam lag got me killed again!)

Now I thought last night that maybe since I didn't have a helmet on and only my hat that maybe the 2000 damage hit my mind pool which may have been down to under 2K at the time but I don't think so. Now after reading this it appears that my experience was caused by either the Toughness bug or the Armor hole because I have never, ever, ever seen anything do 2000 damage to me including NS elders.
