Yes, I must admit that after beating the Swordsman I was wondering why on earth I would want to actually be one. I think I will still give it a try, but I guess I just can't expect fast results like TKA.

The results are pretty fast if you know how to level melee. TK novice to master is about a week of work. Sword is about 3 days of work. Ofcourse I'm talking as if you don't have a life and commit as much free time as possible to leveling during those 3 days... but it can be done (I did it... I was sick though)

Here's one. Last night while I was looking for Janta blood I went to the Janta Village. I soloed the entire thing at once using Center of Being, Area Attack 3 and healing myself. It was a close fight, I probably should have worn some armor.

http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=27916

I had to crop it to make it small enough, and you can't see me, but you can quite easily see that I was soloing an admirable amount of Janta at once and my combat log proves I was using a two handed weapon (a power hammer). And whew, look at that damage!

As for PVP, I love Swordsman. I use it in conjunction with Master Brawler to win. When I meet a TKA... unfortunately TKA are superior to Swordsman in PvP. However I am also a Master TKA so I throw on my 240 damage knucklers and give em some of their own medicine (kd/dizzy is so lame).

In conclusion Swordsman has a VERY cool feel to playing, the flash of the blades and the animations makes battle much more fun than running around shooting a blaster. In PVP I feel like I have really earned my victory, something I never felt as a Pistoleer/BH eyeshotting everyone.

I was a tkm and I'm changing over to Heavy swords... Not master yet but I'm love being able to target mind pool and it with a mind bleed that ticks away nicely. Even without having full speed yet I'm loving it more.

Mastered TKA, Commando, Marksman, Medic, Scout, Brawler, Image Designer, Combat Medic, Fencer....,
How many skills mastered for a holo? 1 : Image designer... then all was silent
How many skills will be done for FS now? Zero (Just to lazy to grind only for a chance it might be the fifth one)
Currently: Bladesmaster, Master Scout

It's funny that you guy mention TKA...

Im A 0/1/2/1 TKA on Lowca and I chalanged a Swordsman that had 0/1/2/1.

We dueled twice.

First duel I win with1/3 of my health left.

Second duel I win and the swordman never touched me. I checked the combat log and he never landed an attack on me.

Please don't trolljack the thread.

First post on the official forums

Hi there, I'm a Master Swordsman / Master Brawler on the Radiant server, if anyone needs some teach, or tips just send a tell to Anamina, that's me

I haven't mastered any other profession, nearly Pistoleer and TKA, but the one I had more fun was and still is swordsman. I know at the begining it's kinda hard, you miss a lot, you swing very slow ... First thing I did was pumping all the exp into these fields, to be faster and more accurate. After that ... whoah !

The area attacks are also awesome ! Specially against humanoid NPC's, hit AreaAttack3 and there's a chance they get dizzy and change posture, which usually end's up being the target eating the dirt while they get hits from 1k to 5k.

I have to say that Master Brawler is also a must ( specially for PvP, Warcry2 delays the target for 20 seconds ! In 20 seconds you have killed that mob and all his family Lunge2 is a 15m KD ! Intimidation2 is also very nice, lasts more than Intimidation1 so less HAM costs, and if you fight without armor ( just the helmet) like I do while PvE, you notice it.

While in PvP ... swordsman are very hard to kill, if you play your role the right way. I've taken Master TK's / Master Docs with ease. The only thing with PvP for a swordsman ( and any other melee fighter) is the **edit** Out of Range and lag issues. Yesterday I was following ( /follow) a rifleman and my computer said I was 1m away from him, I could not land any Lunge2 which is supposed to hit the target from 15m. I know I were not 1m away from him, but having him in front of me and he being in reality more than 15m away ... that suxs. To bad that that wasn't the first time I had that problem, and I play with a very fast internet connection ( 2MB DSL) but in Spain ( doh). That's where the problem is I think

Well, good luck in your journeys !

1. You get to use a sexy lookin samurai sword.

2. You get to be the only class in the game that makes commandos complain about their damage output.

3. You can one-shot enemy players on occasion

4. You have access to some of the best AE attacks in the entire game

5.4000+ damage mind bleeds are fun.

And one extra one... Blast damage is one of the least buffed resistances in PvP, with stun being the least buffed. Of course, if we ever get a stun weapon, composite wearing players everywhere will cry for us to be nerfed.

i havea master swordsman rifleman wookiee and my holo tune got master swordsman as her first holo. so i love playing 2-handed class

my top five reasons:

1) a melee class. ...i'm a die hard fantasy MMORPG player, just can't warm up to the idea of blasters and flame throwers in a MMORPG

2) a powerful melee class. decent in PvP with a good combo class. ...but awesome in PvE.

3) power hammer... granted there are other weapons that're perfectly viable weapons. but swinging a vibrating hammer and crushing an enemy in 4-5 blows is awesome.

4) in my opinion, the best class titles in the game... battlemaster. warrior, master swordsman. ...style is something that most of the dorks in this game lack. Swordsman has it in spades

5)Second only to the lowly Pikeman. Swordsman gives ya that added F-you to all those stupid TKA/TKM people.

Everyones damage related posts are in regards of Power Hammer. I refuse to use a Power Hammer (its not a **edit**ing sword...come on) so what am I screwed out of damage output now? I have an 80-327 2h Curved and its not really impressive, its nice but its not the crazy dmg I Was expecting. I can do the same mind damage hits with my TK Mind Hit, but im 2/4/2/3 Swordsman . ... Is it ever gonna get better?

No one should ever play two-handed swordsman. Ever. Stick to fencer, you'll be much happier. Really. This is a terrible class, and tell all your friends to forget swordsman. I'm serious.

I have to say...when I was working on swordsman it was a ton of fun..(I was 0-0-0-1 and solo'n rancors). I dropped it to finish smuggler. Well, I'm almost done with smuggler and currently working on BE for a change of pace, and I'm almost certain that I will go back to swordsman after a week or 2 at master smuggler.
