Agreed, the bleeds would have been fine if it wasn't for people abusing them withwithbleed + kite or bleed + feign techniques.


I never soloed a post patchelder or krayt, but I never stooped to cheap tactics, either. If I can't kill it standing toe to toe with it,I'll die trying.

I have always had much respect for Khal's opiniona nd completely agree with him here. But... we can still solo krayt, even with this nerf. In fact as the 0004 swordsman I am now I could do it, it just takes a year! lol. But yeah, bleeds aren't everything, your ability to think in combat is. good post khal!

In case you havent noticed, our bleeds suck now in PvP...I have a 55 per tick in PvP against un armormed oppenent, and I was not intimidated. Thats with a 700 damage hammer... Now that our bleeds or practically useless since it heals back in seconds, what advantage do we have over TKA? They're weakness was that they have no bleeds, but now that are bleeds are useless in PvP, this is kinda nerfing us and TKA's at all... therefore increasing they're already god like power. Utterly stupid if you ask me. We have no reliable statechanges either... complete joke if you ask me.

This post will mostly go unnotticed as most all my post do, however, I think that a Nerf on the bleed may not have been the best thing for the game but hear me out.


I think they should have put a bleed limit per enemy. So you could only bleed something once and that's it. That would kill all the bleed them and run people but still leave the swordsmen an effective weapon. I also think that 1/10th of the dmg is a very very heavy handed nerf. I think it should have been more about 5/10th.


The thing we all have to do now is not wine, rather let's collect some stats, and some hard core info and take it to our SMC and have him pull with the dev.


Also I would like to say that I have more faith in the dev and the game, I am as sick as you are about hearing wait for the combat revamp however, we can not really know who it will all work out in the wash at this point. TH even said that things may seem out of wack as somethings are changed while others have yet to be.


TKA may have the upper hand as it stands but will it remain that way forever? I've felt that Brawler classes should be better at dealing dmg because of the fact I have to chase down people in PvP while they run around things shooting at me, but when I do catch them I should be able to cause pain, lol. On the other hand what is it about ranged prof that they should be able to do well? Maybe pistol for close, rifle for ranged and carbine for mid range and that's where thier power is delt? All I'm trying to say is I have faith, how many of you do?

It's funny to hear people whine and groan about changes to the game. Especially for things(if they had any common sense) they know shouldn't be. I agree with Khal on this one. Altho I'm not sure what role the devs intend for the Swordsman, I know it's not the beat-all profession we'd(me too) would like it to be. Realisticly, each profession will have its pros and cons to accomodate different style of play.


Another thing most should understand is that this is not a static game. None of the MMORPGs are and never will be. This is an ever changing world and will continue to change thoughout it's lifespan. Anyone who's played any of the other MMORPGs such as AC, EQ, AO can all tell you that the game changed dramaticly from its inception to its current state.


While I'm not entirely happy with the state of the game, I am happy that I can see the effort by the devs to listen to the players when implementing change. This is the first MMORPG I've played where the players have so much say in what goes into the game, except for maybe AC(but that was years after).

Only put bleeds ranging from157 to 1000 on a Peko Peko Albotross. (Master Swordsman) Now that hurt....hurt me that is, had to stand toe to toe, went through my pets (Master CH). Now two days ago, I had bleeds of 1000 to 3000. (only used Muon Gold) and yes died 4 or 5 times.) But WOOT got the Feather!!, Except for the two who tried to help but left or had to leave, it was all me.


Basically, what I need to do now. is adjust secondary hams for longer fights versus, short ones.


And just a side note, Knockdown in Master Brawler? .......ok..... who really hates Swordsman but Loves TKA (Martial Arts dweebs anyone?????) No favoritism right???? lol

You guys are missing the point... the reason that bleeds were nerfed across the board is because of idiots bleeding and running away.


Anyone who did that, such as pistoleers (basically the only way they CAN kill something) are just retarded... For those people who did that I'm happy. Their "accomplishments" are not "soloing". Soloing is going up to whatever mob, tanking, and hammering away. For people who played heavy swordsman they way it was meant to be, *raises hand*, this nerf has totally owned us.


Lemme break it down for you smacktards. You go up to elder, whatever have you.. you warcry2, you intim2 3-4 times, you then lunge2 until mob falls, apply bleeds (reapply until highest possible), then once you get a nice bleed going, you headhit3 it. That is the way the game was meant to be played. The reason for it is that if you downer or something, or your food runs out temporarily and you have to hold off from specials you can still warcry and intim while the bleeds tick, (while you're still standing there and not running away like a pansy).


The "run away method" is not soloing. If you did that you can not brag because you have no skill. Period.


Btw, ubese blows buy some real armor.

well, mister fancy pants, its a game wide balance issue and a crushing blow to the already weak swordsman.



you seem to be stuck in your one little hole looking at things from your prespective.



i seriously doubt you PVP at all.


and since the bleed nerf nerfed everybody it is a game wide issue.



im sorry you're content to be a master swordsman and slice and gnorts all day - but some of us would like to be competative in all forms of combat, and since we ACTUALLY PLAY the game in all its aspects we might have a better idea of how damaging this is.


you can solo mobs because you have 80 percent composite.........that has nothing to do with swordsman or the state of our profession.


if you're so happy about the changes why do you feel the need to post about it?

to try to point out how much better of a player you are than the rest of us, WHO AREN'T happy with the changes?


you aren't the only swordsman pal, and this game isn't for you and you alone.


some of us interact with other profession and would actually like to have a fighting chance.

I haven't seen anyone bragging, Sysfauller. Did you clearly read and digest what I set down?


I stated what I could solo in each set time frame, the latter being present day, for the express purpose of showing the effects that these nerfs have had.
