The first thing that I'd do is get my wasted points back from master doctor. You shouldn't need anything beyond medic 4003. Now you can master brawler and put some points into tka 4004.

The great thing about Doc is being able to buff yourself. You can logout anywhere you'd care to, and not have to worry about what mobs are there, because you can always whip out the droid, buff up, and have your way with them. Doc is definitely not wasted SP, unless you have a doc always available to you, willing to travel to your location at any time, which most people don't. Docs also get bigger heals than medics, the ability to cure states, and other important things like that. Try to solo a GDK with your medic/swords template... sure, you can do it, but then you have to heal your wounds, and visit a cantina to fix that brain of yours from all the disease. Not to mention find a DOCTOR to heal the nasty disease the thing laid on you about 14 times. It's all a matter of convinience. Doctor is also likely the most valued class in PvP, because of buffing, and state heal abilities, as well as the ability to Rez. A well equipped Doctor/Swordsman is likely the most self sufficient class in the game. You can kill anything that moves, heal yourself for massive amounts, and buff, as well as make some cash from buffing. I never thought I'd actually enjoy being a doc until I did it, but I feel it's one of the best professions I've done...

Have yall ever considered dropping doctor to 0/3/4/0 ? I could take master brawler with that...Im wondering how bad the wound speed would be....thoughts?

In my mind its not wound speed that is the issue at 0-3-4-0 doc. Its much more about what's available on your server. If you go that route you can only buff and heal. No disease, poison, or fire cures and you can't make your own meds.

The problem with the latter is that you only have med use 90 and most people who sell buff packs experiment on charges and effectiveness and not med use. THus those packs come out with med use 91-94. Its hard to find anyone selling med use 90 buff packs and so you functionally end up with a bunch of skill points that do nothing for you.

You can't heal, can't buff, can't cure posoin, disease, or fire, and can't craft your own doctor meds. Doc is all about flexibility and doing what you want when you want. If you can't have that then why go doc at all?

I am master sword/master doc and will say that you should only get master doc if you like being a doc. If you just want to heal yourself you can get by with medic. As far as where I spend my extra SP, well I flip flop too. I mostly keep scout 1000 because I fight on Dath a lot and that 1 box in exploration makes a huge difference. I used to keep Hunting I but havent noticed a big difference in the amount of resources I get without it. If you want to PvP and have access to DoT lances and such getting some boxes in pole arms is worth it. Basically though except for polearm, there is really no solid place to stick your SP, and I only say polearm because earning four boxes in polearm is a pain to just do over and over and over again. But having 18 free SP to float around between marksmen (to help guildies get AP xp), scout for resources, or artisan for surveying, or even entertainer for healing your mind (never even considered that), is pretty handy.

Go brawler 0404 and then get your hands on some nice mind DoT weapons, they'll significantly decrease the amt of time it takes you to kill elders, krayts, GDK, and the like if you're strictly PvE, and for PvP DoT's seem to be the only way you can survive these days (even though I don't agree with it).
